You will also want the valve cover if you are purchasing this item to fix one or more CHECK ENGINE faults. Due to GM's failure to improve the PCV valve design, I gave the component a middling rating. Around the 50K mile mark, it is prone to failing. The vacuum diaphragm is actually shredded when the PCV valve malfunctions due to the extreme stress it causes. The vacuum diaphragm, which is inside the valve cover, cannot be repaired. The valve cover and intake manifold need to be replaced as a solution. If you know your way around an engine, it can be fixed in 2.5 hours using parts that are typically less than $250.00 for both. We both concur that the item improved the car's performance and reduced idling. This is a true review, and my boyfriend had no trouble installing it. Since other parts stores are jacking up the costs, he is thrilled that he was able to save over $100. If you would just take my word for it and follow the article, you would be good to go. Take care when removing the tubes because they can be fragile and eventually break. On his, there was a tear that might have triggered a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT due to the fact that the tube was separated from the canister. He explained to me that because heat increases under pressure, the tubes could be in danger. On the good side, it fits well and is really polished, just like OEM. I concur that you should expect to adapt it to fit your engine. For clearance, I had to slice off the bottom "mount," trim the intake's ends, file open the heat tube holes just a little bit, and trim the heat tubes. When I tried to attach my 34-pict carburetor, it didn't fit because of my alternator; I now need to install a spacer. Maybe I should have only trimmed the left intake tube so the carb would be farther away from the alternator rather than trimming all of them.In essence, test everything out before cutting and installing.It functions otherwise, but it is not plug-and-play.

This was a lot smaller than I had thought. Since I use 1/4" fuel lines, this was inadequate. I used the quarter hoses after slipping some smaller plastic gasoline line over the port tubes, and it worked. It switches off the fuel and functions without a hitch. Furthermore, the cost was reasonable.
