It is an OEM item, to start. It is what my 2005 Silverado's manufacturer specified. Second, the pricing is reasonable. I experienced the issue of missing coolant, just like many others. When I topped off the coolant, my coolant level started to fall after a few brief cold/hot cycles (driving, letting it cool overnight, then driving again). The level would drop when you topped it off once again and drove it a few times. Over a distance of about 25,000 kilometers, it grew worse. I used to travel between 1,200 and 1,500 miles before noticing a coolant dip when the issue first appeared. That range decreased to less than 500 miles throughout the course of the 25,000 /- kilometers. This issue has been resolved once the expansion reservoir cap was changed. I lost count of how many hours I put into attempting to find the cause of this issue. inspecting the radiator, heater core, hoses, and even crawling around the block in search of leaks. Then comes concern over internal problems. $12 fix. Issue is resolved. What about the factory cap fails? As the twin o-rings degenerate with time, vapor can "blow off" as a result. Your system's "50/50 blend" of antifreeze contains that vapor or condensed water. In other words, the water essentially "blows out" as vapor, leaving only the antifreeze. As a result, the liquid level decreases. Hope this aids someone else facing the similar problem. It has been a problem for GM owners for a long time.

You simply need this cap, nothing else. A coolant reservoir that I recently bought had a cap on it. The cap appeared to be durable. I made a round trip of 250 miles before stopping for petrol, at which point my coolant burst through the cap. When I tried to tighten it when it was hot, it practically came off, spilling all of my coolant. I discovered it after conducting an internet search. I didn't think it would matter, but when it arrived, I could tell it was far better than the previous one. Compared to this, the old one is made of inferior plastic. I think the poor plastic expands due to heat, causing the coolant to leak. That's not what I see this cap doing. This is essential. Avoid being abandoned when you are far from home. Picture depicts the new, all-black cap. When you hold them both in your hands, you can feel the difference in quality.

I measured the pressure setting, which was close enough but slightly off (0.9 bar).I would gladly pay more if there was some kind of bleed valve tough so I could open the cap when it got hot.Note: It's best to avoid opening the cap when the coolant is hot, but occasionally you may need to do so. Opening the cap is only dangerous when the coolant is TOO hot, and a bleed valve actually enables you to properly exhaust any water vapor that may be present.I wish I could have a temperature reading AND a bleed valve because some caps are just that—a cap with a bleed valve.

With one exception, this radiator cap came just as it was photographed and described. On the scale, there is a color gradient that indicates whether or not the engine is within a safe temperature range (this is a bonus). This is seen in my image below. It looks nice and is simple to read when riding on my 2015 Yamaha WR450f motorcycle. I checked its accuracy using an infrared thermometer (not the most precise approach) pointed at various radiator and hose locations, and it seems to be accurate to within 10 degrees or less most of the time.

My 1992 Toyota Camry xle v6 3.0 is for sale. Only one engine and two caps. One on the radiator, which did not function in this case. The feed hose on the back did fit perfectly.
