There are a few things to consider when deciding if chains or cables are better for snow or ice. One is the type of vehicle you are driving. Another is the type of terrain you'll be driving on. And lastly, personal preference can play a role in your decision. If you are driving a light vehicle, such as a car, then chains are typically the better option. They are easier to put on and take off, and they provide more traction than cables. If you are driving a heavy vehicle, such as a truck, then cables are usually the better
Snow chains are devices that are installed on the tires of a vehicle to provide traction on snow and ice. They are typically used in mountainous areas where roads are often covered in snow and ice. Most snow chains can be installed in under 30 minutes. It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions when installing snow chains. Snow chains can be left on overnight, but it is important to check the manufacturer's instructions to see if there are any special conditions or requirements for doing so. Some manufacturers may recommend removing the chains after a certain period of time to prevent damage to the tires
You can put chains on snowblower tires to help with traction on slippery surfaces. It is important to make sure that the chains are the correct size for the tires and that they are installed properly.

For easier installation of two and four link chains see our Sno-Chain Ramps . Optional Tensioner is recommended for maximum life and performance of chains.
Unlike competitors, Our Heavy Duty Tire Chains is made of thicker cross chain and thicker side chain and fasteners.
To ensure maximum life and performance of your tire chains, tire chains must be installed as tight as possible.
For 2 link chains, cross chains occur every other side chain link giving consistent ride with less grip-slip like a 4 link chain.
In the past we only offered heavy duty, but our competitors were selling medium duty at lower price than our heavy duty chains. So, we began to offer a medium duty to compete with their lessor chain. Tire Chain is not commodities. There are different qualities and specs which are difficult for the customer to be able to differentiate between

On my Simplicity 7016, I'm using these chains on turf tires, and they provide me great traction. To maximize contact with the ground, each tread link is twisted. They probably would have been put tightly and swiftly if I had needed them right away, along with chain tensioners that weren't included. But before installing them, I let some air out of the tires and removed one of the treads to make them extra tight. The chains are quite tight thanks to the inflated tires, and they perform superbly in mud, snow, and ice. I'll be installing agricultural tires shortly and will be purchasing another set for them! These tire chains come highly recommended from me.

Functions as promised. They are on my garden tractor's chains, which I use in the winter to clear snow with a scraper. They assist in removing the chain's slack so that the chains are less prone to wear through the concrete driveway. A lot of chain-attaching hooks and well-made.

snapped in with ease, but there ought to have been additional springs to catch the chain more frequently. To raise the garden tractor chains more evenly, I bought 4 extra springs to place between the 4 on each tighter (total of 8 springs on each side.. 6 probably would of been enough.. meaning adding two springs to each tightner). The tighteners were top-notch and well-made, but I didn't think they were enough springs, else I would have given them a five-star rating. Once the tips were slightly changed so they could snap on to the center ring, the #175 spring from the collection at the hardware stores I visited was ideal for this.

This evaluation pertains to the installation of the 1062655 chain - 20x8x10 on a cub cadet LT 1050 lawn tractor. The chains were more difficult to put on than they appear in the YouTube videos, but I believe this is because they are installed very loosely in those movies. By letting most of the air out of the tires, installing the latch link to the second link, and using pliers to get the link attached, I was able to install both chains on the lawn tractor in about 30 minutes. After I re-inflated them, they fit perfectly and required no additional tensioners at all. I was given a tire chain by Peerless Chain called Max-Trac. 4 links apart. They performed poorly when I ran them in around 6 inches of wet snow, but excelled when running on packed snow. In retrospect, I should have paid more to have the 2 link spacing because I believe it would have worked better for my application. To move a wagon loaded with wood from the barn to our home for the fireplace, it is necessary to drive through snow. My son helped me move it in one area of thicker snow when it became stuck. Overall, these are really high-quality chains, and I appreciate the great pricing.

In an effort to promote this product, I'm here posting a review. I spent some time looking online for some chains that I believed were reasonably priced before discovering them. Just what I needed, and at last a reasonable price! After I deflated the tyres, mounting them was quite simple.

I just received mine on Friday, 2/22/16, and assembly was straightforward. As a warning to prospective purchasers, the chute bolts were located near the snow blower's recoil area rather than in the manual bag. It started immediately up and ran smoothly after I primed it twice and filled it with non-oxy gas. I've used it four times already in thick snow, and each time, it easily shoots the snow 30 feet or more. I was extremely impressed with its performance, and I'm glad I went with the 250cc engine because it is quite powerful without bogging down. Overall, this thing is a beast, and I adore it. The machine continues to impress me every time I use it. The most recent storm brought very heavy, wet snow, and this machine had no trouble blowing the snow and slush, in contrast to my neighbor's 2 stage, which kept plugging up and could not shoot the way my machine did without plugging at all. I live in Minnesota, so you may have heard that we have had plenty of snow. The machine's performance really astounded me. Now that spring has arrived, I drained the gas and oiled all of the nuts and bolts with tranny fluid to prevent further rusting. ready for the upcoming season, yay!

These were purchased last winter, but we weren't in need of them. They were quite helpful when they were needed a few days ago. When turning into a driveway, a neighbor's automobile became stuck on the hill. The person who attempted to tow the car was unsuccessful. I pulled these out after that, and we set them just in front of the front tires. The automobile was able to enter the driveway after a few of us pushed it until the tires gained traction.A few years ago, we had a pair like these, although they were gray and shorter. They also functioned, but when we assisted a fellow neighbor who was stuck, they abruptly vanished. Then, I made the decision that the following set—these ones—must be brightly colored so that I can better monitor them. They are more difficult to steal and are less likely to go lost in the snow.Additionally, I appreciate that they fold. Because of this, it is simpler to store them in the car's trunk during the winter.
Chains are devices that are placed around the tires of a vehicle to provide traction on snow and ice. Snow socks are made of a fabric that is placed over the tire to provide traction on snow and ice. Some states have laws that require the use of chains or other traction devices on certain roads when conditions are icy or snowy. So, do snow socks count as chains? It depends on the state you are in. Some states consider snow socks to be an acceptable traction device, while others do not. If you are unsure, it is best to check with your local Department
If you have a driveway made of asphalt or concrete, a snowblower chain can damage it. The chain can catch on the surface and tear it up. If you have a gravel driveway, the chain can kick up rocks and damage your car.
Snowblowers are designed to work in all types of snow, including wet snow. Wet snow is heavier and more difficult to move than dry snow, so a snowblower with a powerful engine is necessary. The auger on a snowblower helps to break up wet snow and move it through the chute.
There are a lot of different opinions out there about whether or not tire socks work as well as chains. Some people swear by them, while others say that they don't work nearly as well. Ultimately, it really depends on the situation and what kind of conditions you're driving in. If you're in an area with a lot of snow and ice, chains are probably going to be your best bet. But if you're just dealing with a little bit of slush, tire socks might be enough to get you through.
Most states in the U.S. do not require drivers to use snow chains, but many recommend it. Check your state's laws before heading out on the roads. When chains are required, it is typically for all four tires on a two-wheel drive vehicle. However, in some cases, only two chains may be required for the front tires.
If you're driving in snowy or icy conditions, you'll want to put chains on all four of your vehicle's tires. That will give you the best possible traction and help you avoid getting stuck.
