A pool filter can be too big if it is not the right type for your pool. There are three types of pool filters: sand, cartridge, and diatomaceous earth (D.E.). Sand filters are the most common and most affordable, but they require the most maintenance. Cartridge filters are easier to maintain, but they are more expensive. D.E. filters are the most expensive, but they require the least maintenance.
If a pump is too big for a pool, it can cause a number of problems. The most obvious problem is that the pump will not be able to circulate the water properly, and this can lead to stagnation and poor water quality. Additionally, an oversized pump can put too much pressure on the pool's filtration system, which can lead to leaks or even breakage.
You can run your pool filter without the cartridge, but it won't be as effective. The cartridge helps to trap dirt and debris, so without it, your pool will be less clean.
If you have a pool, you should definitely invest in a pool pump. A pool pump circulates the water in your pool, keeping it clean and preventing the growth of algae. It is also important to run your pool pump while you are swimming. This will help to circulate the pool water and keep you cool while you are swimming.

These are sold in 6 packs of two apiece. I got a box of these filters because my portable hot tub was starting to get a touch foggy and the other ones were somewhat dusty. The morning after changing the outdated filters in the evening, everything was crystal clear. With weekly cleanings and using the tub three to four nights a week, I was able to get roughly a month out of the original filters. So, based on my estimation, this box should endure for roughly six months. Quite affordable for filters of this caliber.3 December 2015 Update I've used my PureSpa throughout the entire summer, and I still have half the box of filters left. I found two things that, with moderate tub use, can extend the lifespan of these filters to about six weeks. The first step sounds straightforward enough: brush your feet's bottoms before stepping into the tub. The tiniest pieces of grass, leaves, and other debris get caught in the filters and result in the dreaded E90 error on the controls, as I rapidly discovered. The adage "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" applies here. The second thing I discovered is that usually only one of the pump's inlets will draw significantly more water through it than the other. The filter that is closest to the pump is also on my tub, which I suppose is to be anticipated. Frequently, the first E90 that appears has a semi-dirty filter whereas the second filter is almost completely clean. At that point, I remove both filters, thoroughly rinse them, and then switch the inlets to which they are connected. For me, this has typically happened around week three. By doing this, I can use the filter for an additional three weeks.

These were the first I purchased in bulk last year. Due to one of the filters not allowing enough water to pass through, the spa gave an error status. Everything started operating again once I changed the filter. This year, I bought more of them. I've only had one bad filter out of maybe 12 total. I'm satisfied with these filters overall and will keep purchasing them.

When I moved into a home that was four years old in 2013, I decided to install whole-house filters to get rid of sediment and odor just for peace of mind. Because PLEX tubing was used in the construction of this house, I was confident that there would be no corrosion in the pipes. The Aqua-Pure AP800 series was my choice. To acquire the most filtration while not impeding water flow, I ultimately decided to place two filters side by side. I didn't mind if there was some redundancy between the two filters. The AP810 and AP817 filters were the ones I employed. The outcomes were excellent. Really, there was no discernible difference between my filtered water and water in bottles. After 14 months, I finally replaced them, and you can actually see the problems the prior owners had.

I come here to get all of the filters for my Intex hot tub. I adore the product's quality and affordability. The real deal for your Intex Type S1 is here. On average, this will last me three months. Once a week cleaning is fairly simple for these. Then replace with a new set once a month. With this brand, I experience significantly less filter errors when using my hot tub. These seemed to be of higher quality than the hot tub's original filters. Considering that the others only last for half as long, I definitely got my money's worth using these. Please view my filter before and after pictures.

These Sundance Microclean filters perform better than the Clarethon ones and are the original style replacements for Sundance Spa top filters. The Clarethon knock-offs, which are decent and less expensive, have performed comparably to these OEM filters for the past two years, but I have to confess that these perform marginally better at filtration and have a longer useful lifespan.Overall, since they have shown to me that they perform better in our hot tub, I am going to keep with them unless the price difference is substantial. Additionally, the cost is around 20% less on Amazon than it is at the spa supply shop. Depending on how often I use the spa, I switch out mine three to four times a year.I hope this helps. Good luck.

I have purchased these filters for my hot tub a second time. They are the Pleatco PWW50L filters, as noted in the description. Unfortunately, when you search for "Pleatco PWW50L" in the search results page, the right image appears on the page that appears, but when you click on the item, the ordering page displays a different filter. The ones that have been supplied to me both times are 13-1/16-by-1-1/2-inches Female SAE with handle and include a little paper band that extends halfway up the filter material, as specified in the product description. One appears to be shorter, fatter, and without the band encircling the filter material in the image on the ordering page. Another Amazon consumer has previously raised the issue of uncertainty regarding the filter that is being sent out. Positively, I don't have to go more than 25 miles to the spa store to acquire replacements, and these are only half as expensive as buying them at full price.
If your pool filter cartridge is in need of a deep clean, there are a few things you can do. First, take the cartridge out of the filter and soak it in a bucket of water for a few hours. This will help loosen any dirt or debris that may be stuck to the cartridge. Next, use a hose to spray the cartridge off, making sure to get in all the nooks and crannies. Finally, let the cartridge air dry before putting it back in the filter.
When it's time to replace your pool filter, you'll know. Your once-clear pool water will become cloudy, and you'll notice your filter isn't working as well as it used to. You may also see an increase in algae growth. If you've checked your filter and it's clean, it's time for a new one.
There are a few things you need to know in order to determine what size cartridge pool filter you need: -What is the size of your pool? -What is the flow rate of your pump? -What is the desired turnover rate for your pool? Once you have this information, you can use a calculator (such as the one provided by Pentair) to determine what size cartridge pool filter you need.
If your pool cartridge is bad, you'll likely see a decrease in water flow, and the water may become murky or discolored. The cartridge may also feel slimy or have an unpleasant odor. If you suspect your pool cartridge is bad, it's best to consult a professional for replacement or repair.
A pool cartridge filter can last anywhere from 2 to 5 years, depending on how well it is maintained and how often it is used. To prolong the life of your filter, be sure to clean it regularly and replace the cartridges when they become worn out.
A cartridge pool filter costs around $100. This type of filter is easy to maintain and provides good filtration.
