Although I have a patio light, which is where my BBQ is located, it isn't bright enough for me to see the food I'm cooking. I can cook quite well by feel, but I also prefer to see grill marks and some char, which my patio light made impossible to view. Up until I acquired this Barbecue Light, that is. After reading several reviews and examining the characteristics on Amazon, I decided to purchase this to replace a similar LED BBQ light that had entirely failed in less than a year and a half.I was really pissed off since I couldn't find the maker of my old lamp. Going high tech isn't always the right move. Touch sensitivity on the One Off is much higher than on the iPhone. Since it would be sufficient to turn on the light, I do not believe you can keep this attached and cover the grill with a grill cover. Better would be a manual on/off switch like in the ancient days. I recently purchased this, but it's only now getting dark enough to utilize it. I smoke the meat for approximately an hour on my wood pellet grill. I then increase the heat to bake the meat before searing it. I didn't need any light earlier in the summer to baste or turn the meat. Now that sunset is sooner, I can connect and put the magnetic lights exactly where I need them. They are also very helpful for burning any wood pellets in the auger chute and eliminating any wood pellets from the hopper (when burning any residue from the grill). I've grilled after the sun has set enough times that I truly need a source of illumination for the grill (the moon wasn't cutting it). This object appeared to be the ideal solution. I took it out of the manufacturer's protective wrapping as soon as it arrived to put it on the grill (the Amazon box was a little battered).Pros: Depending on the level of darkness, the light's various intensities appear wonderful.I can still use my grill cover to cover the entire grill because it fits snuggly on the handle.The light may be moved around to illuminate any area of the grill because it is flexible.Cons: The product does not include the batteries it needs (this is not a major con because I always have AA batteries on hand, but it would be good to have them).It sticks out a little from the grill handle, but it fits snugly on the handle and still lets me put the lid on my barbecue. I'll have to try several things to see if I can't find a better fit for that job.If you can believe it, I had to read the directions to figure out how to turn the light on and off. The directions I was given don't really explain it very well, but I quickly realized that all you had to do is tap the logo. Again, not a major scam, but until I read the instructions, I had no idea.The fact that the instructions advise removing this from the grill and bringing it inside when not in use is my main complaint about it.
