Although this is not the original basket that came with my whisper flo pumps, it is an improved update from Pentair. This version is smooth on the inside, in contrast to every other non-Pentair version I've tried. The material doesn't have any crevices where particles could get caught. I've tried many different ones from Amazon and pool supply stores, and these are the strongest and easiest to clean. Compared to the weaker plastics utilized in earlier models, this plastic is substantially tougher. I'm not sure if this will get more fragile with time, but things are going well so far. These have more substance overall, so I believe they will last. There are no excess plastic curls blocking the flow and the holes are uniformly formed.

The following are the two main advantages of employing the blaster with the pool cover pump:1. No hose is present to freeze (the residual water left in the hose freezes and blocks flow).2. There isn't a pipe where an airlock could develop. Airlocks stink, both literally and figuratively speaking. Even when the pump is operating, airlocks stop water from passing through the hose. In order to release the airlock, the hose must typically be raised to shoulder height and walked toward the discharge end in order to drain as much of the hose as possible. Sometimes it's necessary to unplug the pump for at least 60 seconds.These two issues are solved by the Blaster, making it an excellent product. When making a water change, I needed a quick way to fill my 220 gallon aquarium with clean, dechlorinated water from a clean plastic garbage can (rather than filling pails, and one by one emptying them above my shoulders into the tank). This measurement was ideal. It fills quickly enough that I don't have to wait around all day for the water to drain from the garbage can, but not quickly enough to disturb all the plants in the tank. It takes around 2-1/2 minutes to fill a 35-gallon trash can, which was ideal. It takes me five minutes to replace a 70 gallon of water now because I often have two garbage cans to empty. The alternative would involve a lot of work and take an hour. I strongly advise doing this.

I'm quite happy with this pump. My Hayward pump eventually failed after a while. The unions that came with the pump were ideal for the pool pipes. At Home Depot, I paid around $10 on two 2" pairs and plastic cement. Surprisingly simple was the installation. Added the unions and connected the ground, two 120 volt leads, and the pump.The pump's exceptional quietness is something I appreciate. I run my pump at night, but I can't hear it unless I listen with my ears against the open window. Since the installation was only completed yesterday, I'll have to wait to see how the pump holds up over time.CAUTION: Make sure enough water is flowing to the pump through the regulator valve if you're using a Kreepy Krauly pool cleaner or any other devices connected to the pump. The regulator valve occasionally became blocked with debris, making the motor work harder and not bringing in enough water.

The original pump and impeller for my in-ground 18x36 pool collapsed this year after 32 years of peaceful, devoted service. It's time to replace the pump and motor setup. This one fit the existing system, so I ordered it. The pump appeared to be in excellent shape, like it had never been used. Online manuals are readily available. The new pump was rather simple to install. Because the original pump had a 230 hookup, we didn't need to make any changes. I am an excellent pool expert, but I am not an electrician or mechanic. However, the procedure for removing the old pump and replacing it with this new one went extremely smoothly (again, using the downloadable manuals and various internet videos discovered on YouTube).The moment this pump was installed and the plumbing connections were made, we were impressed. We fired it up after pre-priming by filling the intake pipes and pump. Smooth, quiet operation right away! With a lift of around 8 feet from the pool's bottom, this pump performed wonderfully to start the water flowing incredibly rapidly. When compared to the old pump that was on its last legs and was screaming like a banshee due to poor bearings and seals, it is as quiet as a church mouse. It has been operating continuously for a few days and does an excellent job.(To be clear, Amazon disallowed a portion of this review that discussed how the pump was delivered, therefore I will need to resubmit it under a different heading. My previous pool cover water pump, a Rule, started to malfunction after several years of use, so I bought Wayne's WAPC250 19 days ago. After reading some owner comments, I'll admit that I had second thoughts about purchasing the Wayne, but the vast majority of purchasers seemed to be happy with their purchases, and I had to relocate, so I went ahead and got one. happy I did. After the obtuse step of screwing the check valve into the motor housing SO THAT THE ARROWS ENDED UP ON TOP, assembly was modest and simple. This was necessary to stop any backflows. The arrows ended up at a 3:00 position instead of a 12:00 position when I fully tightened the check valve, so I called the company for technical support. The check valve and motor housing were built independently and occasionally do not align precisely, it was explained. I was given the option of using teflon tape, which is inexpensive and commonly used by plumbers, or the company would send me another check valve. They sent me another, but the problem persisted. In order to create a tight fit with the arrows on top and be able to screw the valve and housing together, I just applied a lot of teflon tape. I can say that after numerous recent periods of severe rain, I'm really happy with how the WAPC250 performs.Although it requires a few inches of water to turn on, it is quite silent and continues to sucking until the surrounding area is almost completely dry.I also took another owner's advice and wrapped the base plate in a 12x12 mesh bag (with small mesh, used for carrying vegetables or fruit) before attaching the motor housing to it. The weep hole inside won't ultimately become clogged with debris, requiring some feasible disassembly to clean it out and then reassembly.I've had multiple conversations with Wayne's technical support representatives, and each time they were helpful and full of suggestions. Finding a product created in the USA and supported by competent locals is a nice thing.

I'm overjoyed with this purchase. I use it to drain extra water from the lid of my in-ground pool. As said, it operates. Just remember to drink it when it gets close to freezing. After using mine, I really bring it in. Since there is no water on top of the pool cover once it is finished, I won't let it run for fear that it would overheat or burn out. fantastic tiny pump
