If your grill grates are rusty, you can still use them! Just make sure to scrub them well with soapy water and a wire brush before cooking. If they're really rusty, you may want to consider replacing them.
Yes, you can spray Pam on a grill. Pam is a cooking spray that can help to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
Sure, you can use olive oil on grill grates! In fact, it's a great way to keep them from sticking and to help food release more easily. Just be sure to use a good quality olive oil and to heat the grates before adding any oil to them.

Use caution when handling any hot surfaces
8" Long, Material: Cast Iron
Can be used on gas and charcoal grills

My Weber gas grill's grates operate perfectly with the cast iron grid lifter! The stainless steel grate lifter works as well, however one of the pins holding a section of it together was not glued on one end, causing it to come apart. but the issue can be resolved by giving the one end a couple mild hammer blows! also stainless, so I won't have to worry about rusting if I keep it outside with the grill.

I initially discovered this in a nearby hardware store. I wasn't entirely confident that it would have the strength to raise the cast iron grate on my grill. I was pleasantly impressed by how easily and precisely it could lift and move the grate. I've also used it to lift the main grate on my Weber kettle grill when starting a barbecue so that I can add smoker chips to the embers. In order to keep my hands clean while removing the ashes from the bottom of the barbecue, I have also used it on the lower grate. Utilization is simple. Simply take the handle and place it in the centre of the grate openings, or at a spot that will be equally weighted when lifting, between the grate openings. Squeeze the handle and turn the Grate Lifter so that the bottom extension is at a right angle to the direction that your grill slats are running. Once you've got it balanced, loosen your hold and raise straight up. I advise lifting straight up because if you lift at an angle or draw it up and try to hold it out from your body, the lifter will not catch the underside of the grate in a way that will prevent slipping. If you are lifting a hot grate with this equipment, exercise extreme caution at all times. Although it is quite manageable, it won't stop you from making poor decisions when moving or putting a hot grate. Before attempting the method while grilling, get the hang of it by practicing with a cool grate. You'll be glad you did in the end.

I kept running out of charcoal in the middle of barbecues, and the grill grates were fairly hot, so I needed something to assist me shift them. Normally, I'd use my aluminum tongs, but these can be quite dangerous, and a few times I nearly dropped the hot grates. With this, I now have no problems at all taking out the grates while I'm grilling!

FEND OFF HUNGRY NEIGHBORS - Wield as a defence against hungry neighbors and other uninvited guests
CLEAN AND SCRAPE ASH CATCHER - Efficiently remove ash from your Big Green Egg or other Kamado style charcoal grill

In all honesty, this wasn't precisely what I needed, but that shouldn't take away from how well the product itself and its functionality work. If the scraper were more curved as opposed to square, it would function better for me. However, I required a curved tool to better fit the bottom curvature of my cylinder grill and offset smoker. Square has its place in my BBQ tool collection. Both of my charcoal grills perform better when they are curved. Those must be produced by someone.

The few times I've used it thus far, it's sufficiently worked. To use this when the grill is hot, you'll need gloves, but it held onto the grate perfectly fine (as long as you have decent grip strength). The grate-gripping tongues might use an extra inch of length to offer some stability, but you can get comparable results by putting the tongue closer to the middle of the grate (I grabbed from the edge because I'm still a little wary of hot things). But this mechanism works nicely to grab a heated grate to add additional charcoal, etc.

Essentially, this is a single piece of inflexible steel that has been bent into the shape that is visible. Even though the handle is padded, you should use a glove that can withstand heat. The tool elevates the plate-setter securely so that it can be placed aside by sandwiching it between the lower bend and the plate-setter. It works, so far, so nice. However, you must first slide the bottom leg of the Lifter into one of the three spaces between the plate setter legs and the cooker's wall before rotating it such that it is perpendicular to the wall and that the tool is aimed toward the middle. The issue is that the bottom leg of the Lifter, which should be placed on the bottom of the plate setter and slide between the plate setter and the wall of the Egg, is too long when the plate setter is in the "legs up" position (as for holding the grill to cook indirectly). In order to enlarge that space and fit the Lifter in, you actually need to lift the plate setter in some other way. Then, rotate to the lifting position.I'm glad we have those heat-resistant gloves because they made it possible for us to hold the plate setter by one leg. We believe that the small "L"-shaped tool we use to scrape ash will be able to raise this small amount of weight (just a few inches are required) in order to tilt the plate-setter and allow the Lifter to slip in (and will have on hand the next time). After we test that, I'll revise this evaluation.
If your grill has never been used before, or if it’s been a while since it was last used, you’ll need to season the grates. This means coating them with oil and then heating them up so that the oil seeps into the metal. This will create a non-stick surface and help to prevent the grates from rusting. To season your grates, start by heating up your grill to medium-high heat. While it’s heating up, brush the grates with a high-heat cooking oil, such as can
Stainless steel grates are a common sight in many kitchens, as they are a durable and affordable option for cooking. However, one downside to stainless steel grates is that food can stick to them. This can be frustrating, as it can make it difficult to clean the grates and can also ruin the food that is being cooked. There are a few things that you can do to help prevent food from sticking to your stainless steel grates. First, make sure that the grates are clean before you start cooking. Any dirt or debris on the grates will make
If your grill grate is too heavy to lift, you can use a pair of tongs to help. First, make sure the grill is turned off and the coals are cool. Next, place the tongs on either side of the grate and lift it up. If the grate is still too heavy, you can ask someone else to help you lift it.
It's not necessary to oil grill grates after cooking, but it can help to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier. If you do oil your grates, be sure to use a high-heat oil and apply it sparingly so it doesn't cause a flare-up.
If you're using a charcoal grill, you should oil the grates before cooking to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. If you're using a gas grill, you don't need to oil the grates.
If you're wondering whether or not you should spray grill grates, the answer is yes! spraying grill grates with cooking spray helps to prevent food from sticking and makes cleanup a breeze.
