Your dog won't be able to jump out or fall out. I am accompanied by a 14-pound, irate schnauzer. She charges everything and barks. She throws her full weight to the side she desires while barking ferociously whenever she sees other dogs, squirrels, or her favorite swimming spots. We've been holding my dog and gradually exposing her to things she's not used to seeing because she is utterly terrified of the outdoors. If she touches the ground, she will scream like a cat, which is sort of comical. We have a driveway and patio where my kids frequently ride their bikes, so I came upon this bike carrier one day when looking for pet supplies. We trained our dog to be comfortable in the carrier for three days straight before we put it on the bike so that she would know it wouldn't hurt her, which is why I preferred it over a bike basket. We can lock our dog in the carrier so that she can't jump out in fright and damage herself.She appears at ease within the carrier, which has a plush bottom where she sits and little mesh sides that let air in to keep her from overheating.The components are sturdy! I have no idea what materials it is made of, but it is tougher yet more flexible than cotton. Due of its excellent construction, we have no worries that it will fail or break while she is inside. To increase strength, the multi-layered shoulder straps are adjustable! We don't want to squash her head or she would panic out, so we allow some space in the mesh top where her head protrudes. The fabric is just pretty excellent all around, and for the price I spent, I'm glad we didn't get some cheap junk quality worthless carrier because it would have been sent back on the first day! I'm pretty happy with how this carrier turned out.It was a little difficult to secure it to the bike; we had to fiddle with the strap modifications before we were successful. Although it wasn't necessary, we helped secure it with a bungee since we were afraid she may try to jump, so we tightened the bungee a little bit more until she got used to it. The carrier has a strong board on the back that fits snugly and helps maintain the shape and prevent folding.How did she fare? Since she is terrified of everything, I believe she is partially feline. I believe she is more afraid of the ground than she is of riding a bike while in the carrier.All in all, this is a very helpful carrier. My son uses it more and more when he takes her outside. We are hoping that she will grow used to the outdoors soon and fall asleep, but if not, she can just stay in the carrier where she will be comfortable.

My puppy adores his brand-new bicycle basket! Installing this basket couldn't be simpler: just fasten the bracket to the handlebars, secure the basket with the handle, fasten the safety strap, harness your dog, and you're ready to go. The installation of the cage, which my dog requires to feel secure, was the only very minor drawback. After you remove the basket from the bike, you must fasten it. This might be a little difficult. The cage should include a rapid attach method to make putting it on and taking it off simpler. However, because it is so solid and stable, a minor inconvenience for the cage is more than worth it. I would have given it a perfect 10 stars if I could for durability! My dog doesn't like wind in his face, so I did put a windscreen to the front of the cage. I own a 4-pound chihuahua. He enjoys traveling in his basket. He is well-secured by the strap. It was simple to attach to his harness. He couldn't see out of the basket since it was a bit too deep, but I was able to fix that by placing a pad in the bottom, which allowed him to view everything clearly. It's difficult not to award complete stars to the first pet basket I found that can support the weight of my dog! My tiny dash hound, who is approaching the age of 6, has previously experienced back issues. When not in use, you can easily use this item as a pet bed due to how well-padded it is; my cats actually really enjoy sitting in it, sleeping in it, and generally just rolling around in it. I feel like this item was very well-made; it is reflective where the color strips are; it has wonderful storage opportunities on the sides with the pockets; it is easy to clean; and most importantly, it is easy to use.I must admit that this basket has certain drawbacks. First off, this basket just hooks into the tiny mechanism that holds it to your bike rather than having a metal bar underneath it. While it is sturdy and I think it is true that if your dog or cat can sit comfortably in it then it can probably hold their weight, I wouldn't recommend this basket to anyone who plans to go biking in the mountains or anywhere that is bumpy or over potholes because, despite being sturdy, it does wiggle a little bit and there is a kind of fear that it may snap if given too much pressure. I would suggest this to anyone who enjoys riding through a well-maintained park on paved surfaces or simply around their neighborhood. I think my dog will really like this.In addition, it was supposed to take three weeks to get here in Florida, but it only took four. Everything inside the large box was bagged and the packaging was excellent. Screwdrivers are required to put it together.

Just an unbelievable dog basket, this! My dog and I both adore it. If your dog can fit inside, do it—you won't regret it. My dog has long legs and is a little on the tall side.
