Working in my tank was made much easier by a great tool. Each item is of high quality. The results from my api liquid test kit and the ph test strips were strikingly similar. It's convenient to have the tool bag. especially since I lose things. This is my first filtered aquarium, and I'm a first-time fish mom. I enjoy it so far, and my betta also seems to appreciate it.Since the measurements mentioned in the product information pertain to the package rather than the aquarium itself, I'd like to start by giving the precise measurements: 9.625 in. long by 9.625 in. wide by 17.2 in. high (with base). Remember that the room for your fish, plants, etc. is reduced by around 2 inches by the rear filter box, which is included in those measures.I uploaded as many as I felt would be useful because I was upset that there weren't more reviews with pictures when I was buying.The advantages and disadvantages, in my opinion.The curved glass corners and solid glass cover, as well as the black stand, look really attractive, to start with the positives. The tank is also simple to clean (except in the filter space—more on that later).- The foundation is strong despite being made of plastic. Although it is not attached to the aquarium, the weight of the entire aquarium pressing down on it prevents it from moving (I attempted to move it before I put my fish; it's solid).- The aquarium's "portrait" orientation allows me to add tall decorations or plants while still having room for my floating betta log at the surface. Since the aquarium is seated rather than lying flat, it also occupies less room.- The filter motor is almost completely silent, and it's simple to find the necessary filter cartridges at almost any pet shop that sells fish supplies. For stability, the motor includes four tiny suction cup feet.- Since the covers won't fit properly with cables sticking out of the tank, there is one cord notch in the back wall close to the filter spout. I don't have to worry about water getting into the connection because the switch plug is quite tight, but I still didn't want the switch to hang so I nailed it to my wall above the water line.The drawbacks are as follows: - The separate area for the filter at the back is extremely small, and the horizontal supports have sharp edges, making it difficult to clean by hand there. Owners of advanced aquariums may find this area irritating.- As promised, the LED lights are very bright, which some owners may find advantageous. My betta went crazy while I put them on, so I changed my lighting setup a little to reduce the light intensity. Although it doesn't seem particularly good overall, the light structure is also clearly made of plastic.- Although I utilize the included fan-shaped baffle and set the motor as low as possible, the filter still produces a powerful current, which is problematic for me because I have a betta. I am currently coming up with my own solutions to this issue.- Be cautious since the glass cover has tiny openings in the front corners and down the length of the back wall that could be used by small, cunning animals to escape. The black plastic filter area cover is quite thin and leaves little room for connections. Although it is rather annoying, it does assist limit water evaporation and prevent errant airborne particles from flying into the pool.Overall, I'm happy with this tank so far and would suggest it to anyone seeking for a 5-gallon tank that is straightforward yet stylish. I intend to keep it for a while.

The price of this fish tank is unbeatable, and it is far superior to any beginner aquariums you will find in the pet store.PROS: * Roomy enough for a betta to swim about and have some space; * Beautiful design; suitable for offices, children's rooms, or anywhere else you'd like to put it; * Cordless!!! My tank is for my office, which has a VERY LIMITED amount of outlet space. * The light is gorgeous and brilliant. * The light is external to the tank, so small drops of water won't get inside and harm it (see photos). I've owned numerous fish tanks, and the most damage was caused by a light that was exposed to water for an extended period of time. The light is battery-operated, but there is also a place for you to plug it in. Although I haven't tried it yet, I've read in other reviews that the plug can recharge the batteries. You shouldn't need to purchase a brand-new cord merely to charge the light because my Kindle charger fits. It's likely that you already have a matching item lying around the house. * The light can be used on top or bottom of the tank (I put mine on the top, but I imagine it would look beautiful on the bottom if I had jewel rocks)CONS: * If you want to put the light on the bottom of the tank, there are plastic bumps to hold it in place. Large-base artificial plants cannot be inserted into the tank due to these bumps. I would prefer to have the plants near the back of the tank, however I have both of my plants near the front of the tank to prevent the bumps. The photographs clearly show the lumps (the bumps are exactly the same on the bottom of the tank as they are on the top of the tank).However, the advantages of this tank much exceed the disadvantages. I bought a second tank for my coworker because I loved this one so much. I'm sure her betta would be happy in this tank than the one he presently occupies, which is significantly smaller.

This review is intended for anyone looking into this tank who have never kept fish before.1. This tank is VERY SMALL and can only hold one betta fish OR two to three guppies. One little fish per gallon is the general rule of thumb. Therefore, don't be fooled by the box's depiction of five guppies. Small tanks can be temperamental and the nitrogen cycle of a tank might take some time to establish, so be ready to lose one or two fish along the road.2. My son believes the multicolor LED lights that illuminate the tank are fantastic and adores using them as a nightlight. A different tank would be more appropriate for you if the disco aesthetic is not your style.3. The kit isn't fully assembled. Additionally, you ought to buy:- 5 pounds of gravel; - an air pump check valve (this is a safety issue, and in my opinion, it should be included with the kit); - a tiny heater (search for one rated for a 3 gallon tank). This is crucial if you decide to keep tropical fish instead of a betta. ); - replacement filters (you should schedule new ones every 2 weeks); - any plastic plants, decorations, or betta toys (mirrors, hammocks); - water conditioner (you cannot simply pour tap water into a fish tank; it must first be treated to remove any harmful chemicals; API Stress Coat is great, and Tetra also makes quality products); - any plastic plants, decorations, or betta toys- a small siphon for daily water changes; - a stick-mounted cleaning sponge (do not use scratchy abrasive sponges like you would on a glass tank because acrylic is easily scratched). - a 2-3 gallon plastic bucket specifically for your tank (you should NOT use one that has had cleaning chemicals in it because they may kill your fish! ); - a 2-3 gallon plastic bucket just for gravel that scratched the front of mine.- optional: a timer to automatically turn off the lights at night (turning them on and off requires plugging in and plugging out, which is inconvenient).- optional: a background to stick to the external back of the tank (this hides the airtubing and electrical cords for the heater, bubbler, and filter while also adding a great aesthetic).Fish make wonderful first pets, so I hope this list is helpful to those who are just starting out!

I chose to purchase this after seeing the price and a number of positive reviews. Since I've owned this tank for a few weeks, I can attest that my Betta is now happier than ever in his new place. Instead of sitting on a plant leaf like he did in his previous 1-gallon bowl, he swims around more in this one. Personally, I enjoy how sleek the design is. In my room, it looks amazing. The fact that the light and filter are powered by the same wire is a fantastic feature. The instructions are very simple to understand and have clear photos in both English and Spanish. The Glass bowl and the power cord are the only two replacement parts for it. I think the filter is a Tetra Whisper 3i filter. The only distinction I can make is that it uses a very quiet impeller attached to the filter's base as its power source rather than a bothersome air pump. Use the Tetra 3i filter cartridges. There is one filter cartridge included, and they are meant to last around a month apiece. Additionally soothing, the waterfall oxygenates the water and gets rid of chlorine and fishy odors. By the way, the waterfall appears just as it does in the picture. I was mistaken in anticipating more of a drizzle. I'll run through everything for you:CONS: The glass bowl has a few flaws, including a slightly warped (but barely perceptible) lip and two odd air bubble-appearing objects. I initially believed it to be an air bubble inside the bowl that had stuck to the side, but it was actually just flaws in the glass. The glass bowl is removable, which is good. However, the flat bottom's small diameter makes it difficult to fit some plants or decorations. More gravel could be added, but it won't be a major concern if you maintain the plants and ornaments in the middle.-The light hood's hinge is a touch flimsy and unsteady. Although it doesn't rattle, I wouldn't be shocked if it were the first component to brake. There isn't much that some duct tape and super glue can't solve. The remaining plastic components appear to be well-made.PROS:s-Sleeks-Quiet- When the room is completely silent, you can only detect a very faint hum if you are within three to four feet of it.A lovely "moon light" impression is created at night by the 8 dazzling white LED lights.I'm serious, I've had 2 Aponogeton plant bulbs in my old tank for 2 weeks, and they haven't even started to sprout. -Soothing Waterfall that also oxygenates the water. They began to develop two days after I placed them in this dish, and three days later, they were already three inches tall.-Water remains pristine for extended periods of time.- Simple cartridge changes for filters.-Excellent for displaying exotic tiny fish. However, I wouldn't add more than three or four little fish.-glass globe amplifies objects when viewed at the proper angle.-you don't have to worry about the waterfall causing the water to overflow if you fill it to the lip.I believe the fish are more active because of the waterfall's current. In his old bowl, my betta, Finwick, was always somewhat slothful; occasionally, he would swim around, but more often than not, he would just lounge on a leaf of one of the artificial plants there. He generally constantly swims around in this bowl/aquarium (I'm not sure if I should call it a bowl or an aquarium), but sometimes he just chills out on his favorite leaf.SUGGESTION: Try filling the bowl all the way to the rim if you intend to place a Betta or any other sort of fish that is used to little or no current. This will maintain the waterfall's low current while also improving its aesthetics. Good, not better or worse-If you discover that your Tetra Whisper Bio-Bag Cartridge small, 2-Pack filter cartridge needs to be changed but you don't currently have any replacement cartridges with you: Remove the "used" filter cartridge from the unit and rinse it in the sink with the cotton meshy side facing up to help clear out some of the debris that is preventing the water from passing through it easily. It is a decent temporary solution that will prevent huge particles from floating around in the tank because the carbon bits in it will likely be used up, so it won't reduce chlorine or the fishy smell. To avoid ever needing to do this, stock up on filter cartridges. On Amazon, I can only locate them in bundles of 2, but they are good and inexpensive.OVERALL: I am now a fan of Tetra products and am VERY happy with my purchase. This aquarium is unquestionably well-made and constructed. I wholeheartedly endorse it to everyone and everybody. When I need to swap out the first filter cartridge, I'll film a review.And your fish won't get pulled up into the impeller, either. However, it's still attractive, like many lesser nano tanks, and has the ideal smaller footprint so you don't need a large space to put it. The filter is quite quiet, and I appreciate that it is recessed beneath the lid rather than hanging at the rear or buried in gravel. The LEDs are incredibly bright and operate well. My Java fern appears to be flourishing in the sun. My betta enjoys taking a nap among the masses of leaves. When I first turned on the filter, I worried that it might be too powerful for a betta, but I soon learned that it was only ejecting water as it primed. Once everything was working as it should, the flow exits via a lower slit beneath the filter material with a pleasant, soft stream. My betta never seems to struggle against it, however it does agitate the plants slightly. For the price, a responsible owner can't ask for a better betta tank.

About six weeks ago, I bought this aquarium from Amazon, and so far, so good! I'll update this review if anything changes for the worse. The first thing I noticed was that my lid, which also incorporates the LEDs, differs significantly from the one in the picture. Therefore, it appears to me that I have a newer lid than those individuals here whose LEDs have failed. My on/off switch is on the side from the one in the picture above. I haven't noticed any condensation on the clear plastic cover's LED side, where the LEDs are completely shielded behind it. The LEDs in this tank are bright white/blue/white-blue, according to the advertisement above. My LEDs are brilliant white, blue, red, green, and any variations that fall under those hues. I can also see yellows, violets, etc. when the brightness is adjusted to dim in between color changes. For the tank, I also bought a 25-watt heater. The cutout on this tank lid is the ideal size for a heater. Additionally, a cut-out allows for the use of a bigger filter. If you utilize the tank without an additional heater (or even a bottom-styled heater where you just need to run its cord under the edge of the lid) you would have no difficulty with escaping residents! The filter that comes with the tank fits neatly under the hood. I used to have fish in 50-gallon tanks, but it's been a while. This tank is more of an effort to get my obese cat interested in having her own pets. I am currently really satisfied with this small 5-gallon setup and will absolutely buy it again as long as the top is built the same way this one is over the LEDs! Quite content!

Update 1: The filter started making a loud noise after only two months, so I simply removed it and replaced it with Tetra's internal 3i filter, and it has been working perfectly ever since. I also turned off the heater because I typically keep my apartment between 76 and 78 degrees, and when I added those fixed heaters, the temperature rose to over 85 degrees, which caused my fish to go wild and shrimp to perish. My betta has been doing well for more than ten months now. In addition, the lid doesn't close completely, thus I'm taking away a star.Original assessment I received this aquarium, my betta Margaery, along with four ghost shrimps for my birthday, which was four days ago (they help keep the tank clean of food debris while serving as playmates for my friendly Betta). Margaery simply adores the 2 gallon tank (I know it's a male name, but it's too gorgeous for a male name). It enjoys playing with the toys and the other ghost shrimps, and it has been building bubble nests ever since the second day. Margaery isn't bothered by the filter's relatively low noise level or modest current, which is only enough to gently sway the silk plants about. The LED lights may be adjusted to be on for 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours and have numerous settings. In hindsight, I believe I had room for the 3-gallon tank, but I don't want to stress my fish right now.I purchased gravel from Petco, betta and ghost shrimps from Petsmart, baby marimo moss balls from Petco, artificial plants, anemones, and shells from Petsmart, and betta log, Seachem Prime, Tetra Safe Start, heater, and thermometer from Amazon.Will provide an update if there are any problems.
