NaturVet – Herbal Flea Plus Essential Oils – Essential Oils Help to Repel Fleas – Deodorizes With a Fresh Herbal Fragrance – For Dogs & Cats – 4 oz Powder Review:

Naturvet Herbal Flea Power isn't a scorched earth product that eliminates your flea product in one use. Zap. Fleas are gone. However, it is a non-toxic product you can use on your pet and around your house without forcing you, your family and your pet to live with and breathe carcinogens. The last time I flea-bombed my bedroom, I couldn't sleep in for three nights until the chemicals were fully evaporated.

In addition to using this product on my pet, I use it on the pet beds and feel comfortable enough with it to sprinkle on my own mattress (under the mattress cover, of course).

The trick is have a regular flea prevention routine. Use this powder with weekly dog shampooing (it doesn't even have to be a flea shampoo - Dawn original formula works great if you lather the dog and let it stay on for 10 minutes before rinsing off). Use something like diatomaceous earth on floors and carpets every two weeks. That kills fleas as soon as they hatch and prevents build up.

As others have noted, powder can be messy so use it outdoors or in the bathroom on a hard floor that's easy to clean.

Yes, using this product is more work than zapping with a high chemical spray. In other circumstances, I probably would have taken off stars for the extra work. But the health benefits more than outweigh any of the inconvenience.

Diatomaceous Earth, DE, 1 lb - Natural Product for Humans Dog Cat - Food Grade Package with Scoop Review:

We purchased this a few months back to naturally get rid of a flea infestation that broke out after fostering an animal. We tried EVERYTHING, including bombing our house a few times in a week, borax, flea drops, flea baths, flea sprays... After doing more research on natural ways to rid your home, we purchased this DE.. mostly because it had good reviews and the price was right (It was way more expensive in stores).

We used this to rub into our carpets, using a bristle brush to brush it in deep, paying close attention to all corners. We also mixed it in a spray bottle so that we could spray the inside areas of the couch, our bed and various other areas. After leaving it on for 24 hours, vacuuming & washing then repeating 2 days later, out flea problem was completely gone.

We recently baby sat an animal, that once again brought fleas. This time, we had moved to a home with all hard wood floors. We used the powder in the coaches and any other area that fleas like to lay eggs, with the assistance of flea baths (dawn dish soap) and flea drops.. Well, bye bye fleas once again!

If your looking for an alternative solution, try giving this a chance first. It works by penetrating the eggs, essentially cutting holes into them and like razor blade on the body of any flea that gets into contact with is. We saved hundreds of dollars this go around.

Hope this review helps some one out there, affordable & quickly get rid of fleas! If you have any questions, feel free to ask - I usually respond within a few hours.

Pet Fleas are History - 100% Natural Flea and Tick Prevention Powder for Dogs and Cats - Spray and Collar Alternative - Eco-Friendly and Family Safe (4.16 oz) Review:

My cats have been loaded with fleas. I have tried so many other products to get rid of them, but nothing has worked. Pest Peeve has so far been doing the job. There are still a few fleas but I believe that is because I just started using Pest Peeve. One great thing is that my cats do not get sick like they do when I use the chemical products that go on the back of the neck or the flea collar. Also another nice feature is that Pest Peeve does not smell bad like the sprays that I have used. Pest Peeve is a bit dusty, but it is well worth the results and does not make them sick. So far so good. Thanks for this product and I will continue to use it. This product is like the Raid commercial except instead the fleas see Pest Peeve and scream PEST PEEVE and then roll over dead! :)

Hartz UltraGuard Plus Flea & Tick Carpet Powder - 16oz Review:

I battled the fleas on my boy for over a month. The spray was wonderful for him as well as the furniture, but the carpet powder was the finishing touch! It was difficult to keep on the carpet for 2 hours, so I took him for a ride. When I got back, I let outside while I swept it up. It worked perfectly and it smelled great too!
It arrived on time and in protective packaging.

Hartz Ultra Guard Flea And Tick Powder For Dogs, 4 oz Review:

I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on different brands of collars, shampoos, drops, and sprays for my dogs, and sprays and powders for my house, but I was seeing no change in the fleas on my dogs. I stumbled across this and thought “what’s $5??” It actually worked after one application. I applied it twice the first week and I’m sprinkling some on for maintenance occasionally. I’m also spraying their beds. I definitely recommend trying this.
My only complaint is the holes are a little too big, so it’s hard to control the amount and placement of the powder. This is a must have in my house regardless.

Flea Powder for Carpets - Cedar Bug-Free Carpet Powder Kills Fleas, Ticks and Bed Bugs - 3 pounds by Cedar Bug-Free Review:

this product is great, I have had several experiences where I had to deal with infestations like mite or fleas, and this product helps a ton, most companies don't even seem to acknowledge rat mites as an issue but red cedar oil seems to work agains them and most other insects. I also love the smell, it really refreshes the carpets.

DERMagic Diatomaceous Earth Dust Review:

My dog does not get a lot of fleas and is not out a lot but I noticed a flea on her, and know that when you find one that there are more. I do not like using insecticides on her or near me, so I went looking for a safe solution. First I found a bar of soap by DERMagic and ordered that plus the DERMagic Diatomaceous Earth powder in the small shaker.

First I bathed her with the shampoo. We did not see any fleas jumping off, but we had only seen the one, so I figured there may not be too many anyway. While I waited for her to dry I sprinkled the powder sparingly on my carpets especially near where she lays and around where her bed is. I really did not use a lot as it's a very fine powder, so I just shook the bottle from a bit up high and gave the room a light dusting. I then shuffled around in my stocking feet to let it get down into the carpet fibers and then let it do it's job.

After my dog was completely dry I sprinkled just a little bit on her, being careful that she could not inhale any. A little bit goes a long way with this stuff so I really hardly needed any. I brushed her and massaged her to spread it out evenly in her coat.

The next day I combed her and found one half dead flea and that was the end of that. A couple days later I combed her again with the flea comb and did not come up with anything.

This powder worked and did not cause any skin discomfort to my dog so I think we will continue using these products through the summer to ward off fleas and ticks.

Just a word of caution. A friend of mine warned me that her friend had ruined her vacuum with diatomaceous earth. I had no problem at all, but I did change the filter after I vacuumed. When I asked her how much her friend used she said she bought I think it was a 2 lb bag. Obviously way too much. I did my family room living room and dining room, my dog and a few other areas, and barely used any from the bottle, so do not overuse this.

Zodiac Flea & Tick Powder for Dogs, Puppies, Cats, and Kittens, 6-ounce Review:

I cannot find Zodiac brand flea/tick powder anywhere. And it's an essential must have for me. Hopefully the ingredients are the very same as original.

As a wildlife rehab/rescuer; I rescued and raised lots of baby mammals; raccoons, bunnies, squirrels, one ground hog. Zodiac was determined by Second Chance Wildlife as the most gentle way to treat fur covered babies, ill, old animals. It works and it's less toxic; so they said and so I employed. It took care of fleas, lice, and ticks. If there is a homeopathic product out there that is way less chemical and as effective; I'm not aware of it.

And, of course, you must apply it carefully; important to keep away from eyes, nose and mouth; or any open/healing wounds.

I'm so happy to find this. I'm using it on my older, recovering from trauma, cat.

I'd recommend buying this either to use or keep on hand.

You never know when an orphan may be placed in your path.
