My house is 20 years old, and my driveway is lengthy and steep. Unfortunately, the concrete's former owners employed chemical de-icers to remove ice, which caused quite a bit of spalling (aka scaling). I was given a credit to rebuild the driveway, but I wanted to delay doing so for a while while also trying to slow down the process. I conducted some research and discovered that this kind of sealer was by far the best and lasted the longest. My home inspector recommended Thompson's, but the product's evaluations weren't promising. He advised a commercially available sealer that you can get at any big-box home improvement store.A five gallon bottle I purchased turned out to be just the right amount to cover my driveway all the way to the street. In order to stir it up a bit in case any of the components split while being stored, I rolled it and turned it upside down. It was a drip-free experience, therefore I particularly enjoyed that the container has a pull-out pouring spout.I applied the solution with a typical two-gallon pump sprayer that I use for gardening. Although the sealer is white, it applies transparent. Since it has a viscosity that is similar to water, my sprayer had no trouble dispersing it. It was quite simple to apply, and I finished laying down all five gallons in about 30 to 40 minutes.I tested a part of the driveway with a cup of water before applying this sealer. The concrete absorbed almost all of the water. I experienced some runoff, but I believe it was just a result of my pouring too quickly for the concrete to absorb it. I performed the test again on the same location a day after applying the sealer, and there was no absorption. I was startled, so I ran the test a couple more times in more locations and received the same outcomes. Will it continue to do that in seven to ten years? I don't know, but I have no doubt that it will dramatically lessen the spalling I'm witnessing in my driveway because the water can't infiltrate, then freeze, then thaw, and cause the concrete to break apart.I should note that, for the most part, you wouldn't even notice that I sealed the driveway. I do, however, have a few black areas. These are mainly found near the joints used for contraction and control. It appears OK, but it is obvious.

I used a regular kitchen sponge to apply this product to an outside slate tile patio, and I am generally pleased with the results. When finished, the semi-glossy shine really brought out the natural hues of the multicolored slate. It was very simple to apply, remove excess, and let dry. It appears slightly damp, but not so moist that it doesn't appear natural. After applying two good coats, I used about half the jar. What else is there to say, the wife likes it. Definitely would make another purchase.

In comparison to pourable crack fillers, this product performs better. I had to use many coats of the pourable stuff to get a decent fill. With the Pli-Stix, the job just requires one application, and your driveway is back in use in 20 minutes as opposed to 24. To save your back if you use this, I suggest investing in a yard torch. I was relieved to be standing upright when using the torch to melt the Pli-Stix in because I had stuffed around 60 feet of them into the gaps in the driveway and was uncomfortable as a result.

I used this material to seal three different hairline cracks in my patio and driveway, and it works great. These fissures ranged in width from 1/16" to possibly 1/8" and measured a total of around 50 feet in length. When I had finished filling all the crevices I could find, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I still had approximately 1/3 of the bottle left. At first, I had assumed I would run out of this material long before I accomplished everything I wanted to do. The compound fills fractures neatly, sets up quite well in 12 to 24 hours, and has the consistency of thick glue or possibly honey. I used it in warm weather, between 80 and 90 degrees. When it sets up, it is quite difficult, and rain, auto traffic, etc. don't appear to hinder it. It doesn't matter to me that the light grey I used is a touch lighter than my cement. However, there are two hues available, so give it some thought. It fills tiny hairline cracks excellently, sticks to the crack very firmly, and seems to me to seal out water extremely well while preventing further chipping and cracking. Super stuff, for sure. Using this solution to remove porcelain tile's 3 week-old thin-set was quite successful. I sprayed it on and gave it 15 minutes to dry. After using a Scotch-Brite pad to gently scrape the tile, I reapply a little amount of the cleaner. I let it another 15 minutes to rest before using the Scotch-Brite pad once again. It smelled like rotten eggs and would essentially color the concrete green, giving it the appearance of corrosion on a vehicle battery. At that time, the thin-set could be removed from the tile easily. After I rinsed it all off, it looked pretty good. It softened the concrete and made it simpler to remove. I also applied it on several of the tools I was using while working. Overall, I'm extremely pleased and would buy this product again.
