An essential component of any Shop Vac.Most individuals would think that the Shop Vac's regular filter is sufficient. When I initially started working with wood, I would just let the dust gather before sweeping it away. The next day, I would cough after inhaling fine particle dust that had filled my nose. I quickly understood that I had start using a respirator while working to prevent the extremely small dust particles from entering my lungs. Many people, in my opinion, do not consider the effects of fine dust. You should be aware that not all of the dirt gets contained inside your shop vac if you use it frequently. Small particles that pass through a typical filter are released. And to make matters worse, those tiny particles are being blasted back into the air that you breathe.This is a section of the two-piece system that we currently incorporate into every Shop Vac we make. The HEPA-rated filter is the other. The big particle is captured and kept in the bag as a result. We discard the entire container when it's time to empty it. This prevents me from scooping up additional dust while emptying the vacuum canister. Just keep in mind that if you are using the "Wet" portion of a Wet/Dry vacuum, you cannot do this since the bag will be ruined. The bag also prevents bigger particles from clogging our HEPA filter and leading to an early mortality, which is another significant benefit.For the majority of Shop Vacs, collecting bags and HEPA-rated filters are available. I was able to upgrade a very affordable Black Friday offer into an industrial-grade cleaning device thanks to this (along with the replacement HEPA filter).Have you recently looked into the cost of a lung replacement? Some people may believe it is less expensive to simply use the stock filter and throw out the canister.

As a foster mother for the neighborhood humane society, I switched to a shop vac since I had problems with large amounts of pet hair. These bags hold a lot of pet hair and last for about a month. They are quite reasonably priced and come in a bundle of 3. Moreover simple to install I attempted switching to a canister vacuum because I didn't enjoy the hassle of having to find replacement bags, but there were no hassles with these. The shop vac is also extremely powerful and practically unbreakable. I don't have to worry about vacuuming up spiders, spilled (or deliberately kicked out) kitty litter, or pounds of pet hair. Nothing can breach or escape from these bags. What I didn't expect was that I could pick up all the paper, bead, and wire crafts that I make a greater mess playing with than the dogs and not break a bag or interfere with the shop vac's suction power. Because I was concerned about puncture issues with the collection bags, I regret ever bothering with more expensive uprights. With this type of industrial strength, I'm sure you could scoop the trash, but I won't only because it would be completely lazy. The economics of being able to pick up nails without worrying about damaging your vacuum or breaking a bag, however, must be considered.

Our family uses three Shop Vacs, each of which takes these 5-8 gallon bags. Unless we were reckless and kept the machine's interior clean, they have never busted on me. They are adaptable enough to fit in regular-use, decent-sized vacuums. For building work, car cleaning, and unpleasant cleanups, we use our outdated, beat-up SV (using paper bags or filter as needed, but mostly the bags). In a sprawling old house with loads of dust, cobwebs, and two dogs in one section, we use the other two, which are newer Shop Vacs, upstairs and downstairs. The yellow bags are superior for finer filtration, but these bags are GREAT for daily use. I've written reviews of the vacuum itself as well, but I've discovered that by using shop vacs and attachments, we can have three excellent and adaptable vacuums for the price of just one "slick" appearing home appliance. I purchased the two more recent ones from Amazon during a bargain for less than $60 each.

When the Shop-Vac I discovered in the attic of my (very old) home died, I got a wonderful new one because I didn't want to ruin the motor by sucking up the fine plaster dust produced by tearing down old lath-and-plaster walls. To stop that kind of event, I knew I needed a HEPA filter, but wherever I looked, it seemed like an incredibly expensive solution. Enter the high efficiency bags, which remove fine dust and lessen the burden on the cartridge filter, preventing me from having to purchase a new Shop-Vac when mine is still only a few weeks old.With a few restrictions, the bag functions effectively. It cleanly suctions and, based on what my Shop-exhaust Vac's vent blows out, collects nearly everything being sucked up. For comparison, the dust stays in the air for several hours when I tear down walls. The Shop-Vac doesn't appear to be blowing any dust out of its vent when I return a few hours later to vacuum up the debris that I wasn't able to gather and put into construction sacks. Therefore, a significant positive.The biggest drawback is that the unit's strength works against it. You can only use about 8 gallons of plaster before the weight of the dust begins to tear the bag apart because it is so heavy. When that occurs, the bag begins to crack, which causes dust to be vacuumed into the Shop-Vac to not be captured as effectively. The cartridge filter must therefore rise to the occasion, and anything it misses will be drawn into the engine. That's not good for the Shop-durability. Vac'sIt's simple enough to handle; all you have to do is empty the bag before it becomes too heavy to walk around with. The bag won't be full, but they are inexpensive enough to be essentially disposable, and aggressively controlling bag usage is less expensive than purchasing a new Shop-Vac.For people who are reading this, it's probably too late to make this specific decision, but if I'd known then what I know now, I'd have seriously explored a smaller Shop-Vac instead of owning an 8-gallon machine that I can't fully utilize since it gets so heavy.March 2018 updateStill extremely pleased with the bags, but be careful that if you use a hose that doesn't push inside the hole, you'll miss a lot of the advantages. To use a simple dust separator, I borrowed a hose from another shop vac, but I ended up with a lot of fine dust within the vac. It blocked the filter, reducing my suction significantly, and there's a good chance that some fine dust was also pushed out of the vents. The issue is resolved with a brand-new shop vac-specific hose with an internal deflector. The 4-star rating is still valid because there is no problem with the bag itself, however the HEPA bag's advantages will be greatly diminished if fine particles can enter the filter before entering the bag itself.

It fits my 3 gal (?) Stanley vacuum with a 2.8HP motor snugly, though. majority of the dust is collected, but a minute or so of wood burner ash is allowed to pass.Update: A fantastic product remains! I believe that the dust may not have come from the ashes I was vacuuming, but rather from what was INSIDE the motor area. I'll repurchase these.Tip to seller: Offer a deal on a package that includes more bags.

My Porter Cable shop vac is primarily used in my woodworking workshop in the basement. These bags arrived a little over an hour ago. Both installing the new one and removing the old one are simple processes. This machine is almost brand new! I just spent about 45 minutes cleaning my entire workspace from top to bottom. I used to need close to two hours to complete this same task (don't judge me, I might have a mild case of OCD).

Shop vac style bags were something I had never ever heard of, but as soon as I saw them on Amazon, I knew I had to get them. Air pollution caused by fine dust used to come directly out of the gap between the lid and base. Everything is now confined inside the sack. How much has changed in my garage shop. There is significantly less dust everywhere now. And because the filter doesn't clog, my vacuum always has excellent suction. They are more expensive than they appear to be, but in my opinion, they are still worth the money. Particularly when I attach my hand planer or sander to the vacuum that has a bag in it. Just using the dust bag on the sander was a night and day difference. Nearly all of the tiny dust I used to breathe in is now trapped in the bag, leaving almost little dust behind on the ground. Wonderful discovery!

For me, these bags function perfectly. Because I use my shop vac to thoroughly clean my home, I change my bag every month. These bags have not yet let me down, but in order to provide a fair assessment, I must note out that because I use my bags every other day and never allow them the chance to fill all the way, I cannot say for sure if they would blow out and hold up. I can attest that the bags are excellent in gathering dirt, cat hair, rice coal, and stones. The bags of rice coal haven't failed me yet, even if the pieces can be sharp. Purchasing again

I don't typically rush to write reviews as soon as I get a thing, but this vacuum (ironically) really blew me away.For context, I should mention that my anger might have been exacerbated by the whole misadventure of the previous month attempting to find a vacuum that would fit a certain spot in my little workshop.However, that encounter also served as a counterpoint, highlighting the areas in which this vacuum excels.In a word, I ordered a vacuum from this site that seemed excellent but was excessively tall when it arrived. I returned that one and then went to a store to buy a cheaper one because they didn't have it. I then ordered it online, but it never arrived. I ended up returning it along with the replacement because it came with a whole bunch of problems.I've used DeWALT products for many years and am familiar with their dependability, so when I returned to look for what I hoped would be the last vacuum, this one was a strong contender.When I arrived home yesterday night, I put everything together right away; it only took me about three minutes. The casters should now be securely fastened to the base using screws. It immediately got my approval because it fit perfectly beneath my desk (with about 21.5" of clearance).Due to the fact that shop vacs are typically quite loud, I thought that perhaps I should wait until the following day to actually use it. However, the dust heaps from the weekend's job developed eyes and glared at me.I took a chance because I had read in previous reviews that this vacuum was fairly quiet. The way it operates quietly astounded me. When switched on, this lingered (hoovered?) around 60–63db from an ambient noise level of roughly 20db in my garage. Incredible. Despite the fact that sound travels very effectively in our home, my wife claimed she couldn't hear it downstairs.The size of the hose was another significant perk. When vac #2 was eventually delivered and put to use, I was unhappy to discover that it choked on sawdust every two minutes if anything larger than a cent was met. For my purposes, this rendered it essentially useless.The DeWALT's 1" 7/8" diameter hose handled everything I threw at it, even little pieces of wood.As opposed to the screw-on version of the last shop vac, which had a tendency to prick my flesh between the hose collar and vacuum lid, it also rapidly disconnects from the vacuum with a push tab. Another reviewer complained that the DeWALT's hose port was too frail and thin, but so far it seems enough to me. It doesn't appear frail, and I believe it will be strong enough to last.The rubber cord holder is a wonderful addition. Much simpler than wrapping around the lid or something like.The only drawbacks I've seen so far with this vacuum are slight, but they deserve to be mentioned.There is no accessory storage on board. The tube extensions are completely free to move about, while the small and wide head attachments come with a mesh bag for storage. For their benefit, I'll probably set something up, but just so you know, there it is.The lid could also be positioned closer to the base. It doesn't move when in use, but a tighter latch would make it feel more secure. For my own convenience, I might install some sort of gasket there. Just worth noticing once again.If I had the choice, I might have rated this vacuum a 4.5 simply for those reasons, but I have been really happy with it thus far, and I believe that 5 stars more accurately captures my experience.I'm definitely satisfied with my first impression. I'll update my evaluation to reflect any significant events, and I just hope they take place before the return window closes.
