They are superbly constructed and will serve as excellent accent lights throughout my home. Only the legs and nails used to mount the can are the reason I gave this four stars. It was very difficult to drive the nail straight in because the legs were so flimsy and so close to the slide rail that the can rests on. If the wood's grain prevented the nail from going in straight, it would kick off to one side or the other, making it impossible to drive the nail any further. However, it is much simpler to use roofing nails in the other holes rather than the ones that come with the furniture. Since the rest of the can is so nicely crafted and will no doubt last a very long time, the criticism is actually rather minor. The wago 3 port push wire connectors make wiring simple, and the j-box has an inherent method of securing the wire so you don't need to buy anything to be in compliance when installing wire in a metal box. I posted a picture of the label on the can itself, which for some reason is not featured in the description but gives the can's ratings.

These are well constructed from metal that is sufficiently thick, the junction box has enough of space, and the push-in connectors make wiring simple. But there are drawbacks. The clamps are the worst I've ever encountered on any housing brand. You should avoid placing your fixture any closer than two inches from a joist since their legs spread out further than usual. They were challenging to install in our 1-inch-thick plaster ceilings; 1/2-inch drywall would have definitely been simpler. The hole size has very little adjustability. You will need to make 4 tiny notches for the clip tabs because the pattern makes the hole too small for them to fit through. The can's lip has very limited tolerance, so don't make the hole too big. I used rope caulk to seal the hole where the wire emerges from the housing. Due to the low cost, I'll definitely purchase more of them, however they are not the most convenient to use.

It does NOT come with the push in cable connectors which are required by code because the box is metal with sharp edges where the wire comes in. With the leading edge of the bracket fitting snugly between the sheetrock and ceiling joists, these brand-new construction lights mounted in my existing ceiling without any problems. It was challenging to install the cans and lights 18 inches from the exterior wall since the area was so narrow and I was unable to swing a hammer. This was not due to the cans or lights. It was easy to install physically and electrically. Metal legs appear frail, but once the cans were secured, they stayed in place. IC rating is great. I'm unsure of the attic's airtightness because I believe I can see light entering from the living area. However, some talks suggest that heat from lights could be a concern. How much heat do 7 watt LEDs send out? According to comments made here by the creator, foam next to them is fine. I've had no buzzing or dimming issues, although the lutron caseta dimmer (available on Amazon) and apple homekit/Siri are more dependent on the LEDs than the can. Even though other double wall cans might be more airtight, I would still suggest this particular brand.

Okay, so I initially purchased the 3500 Lumen model without realizing that I had selected the multipurpose model rather than the residential model. Since there are six lights, a dimmer was not intended because of how bright the lights are. but after seeing brightness I decided to get a dimmer switch. The big issue is the the multi purpose lights have an extra grey and purple wire that attached to a seperate dimmer switch. Since this was remodel not a new build, I decided to just buy new 6 residential 3000 version which I believe works with a regular dimmer since the grey and purple wires are not included. The 3000 Lumen is better and not as bright. Seems the higher 3500 version was putting too much strain on my eyes. The 3500 Lumen version with the proper box will allow them to be dimmed and adjusted in the other rooms because I planned to add lights to my living and dining rooms.CON: 1- The main issue I see is that these wafer lights are not sold seperately without the junction box. So if these ever burn out or malfunction you have to buy a new entire unit. I'm hoping they'll start selling the light fixture part separately as these become more popular.2. The junction box is small and somewhat constrictive when wiring.PRO: your need minimal space to slide the junction box and the waffer light. ideal for basements or locations with limited overhead space.The connectors inside the box function flawlessly.
