What I required for my terrible apartment shower!To prevent my old apartment's shower from getting too hot, I utilized this to connect to the sink in my bathroom. When other people use the water in the boiler-equipped building where I live, the shower temperature changes from blazing hot to icy cold (and it has a knack for knowing when I need to rinse soap out of my eyes). The temperature cannot be changed. While you wait for things to return to normal, what should be 10-minute showers end up lasting 45 minutes and using a ton of water. The boiler is just one of the advantages of apartment living, and I'm stuck with it, or there may be a diverter problem that requires the building manager to break into the wall to access the pipes, according to my inner amateur Bob Villa who did some googling. Ugh. I connected this to my sink and had it in my shower, ready to adjust as a backup when my shower gets so hot that it burns me, because it's a problem that might not even be remedied after big repair, and because my bathroom sink is similarly affected but MUCH easier to regulate the temperature. Yes, I can reach the faucet from the shower because my bathroom is so little.I'm genuinely wondering why I pay such high rent while I write this. Stupid Seattle But I digress.I must admit that I was concerned the pressure wouldn't be sufficient, but it's amazing! The sink adapter is also very strong; I was very happy with the quality. Every time I raised the diverter in my shower, a high-pitched whistling sound would come out. There was what sounded like tea being used in a teakettle. It turns out that the diverter behaves in a really peculiar manner. When you turn on the water, it flows out of the tub spout along the route of least resistance. When the diverter is raised, a tiny plastic piece is raised into place to obstruct the water flow and deliver water up to the shower head.The plastic component no longer makes precise contact with the pipe in the spout due to years of wear and tear. As a result, a little air gap forms, and air is driven through it, causing the plastic piece to vibrate and make the unpleasant whistling sound.Slip-on style describes this tub spout. You unfasten the set screw located beneath the spout and wiggle it off until only bare copper is visible. Use some sandpaper to polish the copper fragment protruding from the wall. The replacement spout can then be added after the trim piece has been attached. Shower while you have the set screw tightened. The whistling sound has stopped.It was a universal part that was advertised to fit all types of spouts, but in reality didn't fit any very well. I had bought a new part at Home Depot. It honestly only took five minutes to install this replacement. The most challenging step was determining the proper Allen wrench size.The second piece of advice is to confirm that your spout is in fact a slip-on style rather than a threaded style.Make sure to get the proper finish when ordering this metal replacement part, which should fit most bathrooms.

It was simple enough to change the rubber washers on my old add-on shower, which needed to be replaced around once a year. However, the diverter valve was always leaking and got worse with time. Regrettably, replacement diverter valves were inoperable.So when I saw this model with ceramic cartridges and, more crucially, a BALL Valve diverter, I was thrilled to see it.Since this device lacks a gasket, plumber's putty is required for a watertight seal and to keep the unit in place when fastening it.It was just just installed, and the ball valve diverter is incredible—it diverts ALL the water! The ceramic cartridges function properly and don't need any new rubber washers.I can't tell whether there are replacement cartridges available because I have hard water and discover that ceramic cartridges eventually need to be changed.why just 4 stars rather than 5?I was so pleased with the first one that I immediately purchased another one for a second bathroom. However, the second unit was not as beautiful and will be returned since the finish was poor and there were metal burs on the handles and downspout.I still adore the ball valve despite both of the diverter handles seeming a little flimsy or sensitive.I just take extra care to turn the diverter handle slowly, and I might as well just leave it diverted since another reviewer has an image of a broken diverter handle.

Before you buy, be aware that the middle nozzle is offset. Once I modified the opening, it was easy to install. I don't like the middle nozzle because it seems too long and the up and down knob is at the very end of the spout; it would have been better closer to the top. I liked the overall price of this product. However, I had to modify the opening in the tub to fit this off-sided fixture.

Okay, I had to give this one a review. We were aware that my daughter's 100-year-old claw-foot tub had a poor faucet. I was going to attempt to disassemble the object when I decided, "What the heck, I'll see if Amazon has anything." With a fast slide of the finger and a boom, it's ordered for less than $35. After reading the evaluations, I kept thinking, "WTF did I buy?" because they were basically plastic. The box weighs a ton, I'm kidding, and it arrives on time. When I open it, I see that the faucet is made entirely of brass fixtures and components. Installing is the exciting bit to come; I was concerned about the shower feed. Concern not, everything detachable and well arranged for reinstallation. Therefore, it was fixed for less than $40, and this dad now looks like a hero. Yay!

Moen tub faucetI am a content customer right now. Having read the evaluations, I believed installing this item would be simple. It has the same exterior as my last one. Not true internally. The new one was a slip on while the old one was a screw on. I surmised that the initial installer may have glued it on because there was no set screw visible in the bottom slot. Fortunately, I managed to flip the old one in the appropriate way after placing a wrench on it and wrapping a towel around it. In actuality, I turned it to the left. Righty tighty, lefty loosey is a phrase I used in the Navy.It was simple to remove, but the end of the half-inch pipe had a soldered fitting. I lightly filed the pipe's end and polished the remaining portion with steel wool after carefully and slowly cutting the end off with a hacksaw at a little under 2.5 inches. The journey there was simple.Although there are not many instructions provided, there is one piece of advise that is highly beneficial. When the diverter is in place over the pipe and you're ready to tighten it, flip it over and tighten the set screw until it barely moves, then flip it back over. Keep the Allen key in place since it is challenging to locate the set screw when it is at the bottom.I purchased this in the hopes that it would eliminate the whistling when I used the shower. It worked; the whistling has stopped.

I questioned what the issue with this product was after reading a few unfavorable reviews. There is absolutely not a single issue with the goods! Only unskilled individuals trying to pass themselves off as amateur plumbers. The cat's meow with this kit. My triple-compartment commercial stainless sink was connected without any problems or leaks. I'll offer some expert advice now for people who want to use this product; I've been a steamfitter for over 40 years. On ALL of the threads, use Rectorseal, Gasoila, or another soft set thread sealant instead of teflon tape. You won't experience any issues. Don't forget to use wrenches to tighten all of the fittings. Insert the 90 with the nipple in it, double-nut it, and tighten it until it stops. Next, install the 90 with the nipple into the fixture's back. People, it's not rocket science. Get a pro to do it for you if you can't do it correctly.
