Not at all poor. Strong, slender, and adaptable brackets are available (using a small grinder with a cut-off wheel makes this simple). The clearances around this object are too close together because of the paint's reduction in size. Even when installed properly, which I can accomplish, it can be challenging to control. The manufacturer SHOULD SOMEHOW provide an alternative to the stupid, insignificant hole in the rod for locking. I just so happened to have the item on hand, and I used a hasp eye to lock the "L" in place.

There is nothing else like it available. One of these was used on an outward swinging gate, and the other was used on an inside swinging gate. Yes, it is considerably simpler and more durable to install if it is on the inswinging gate, but both options are feasible. Excellent system that appears to be unique on the market. By raising the latch, my kids and I can exit the backyard, or we can use the combo to come in from the outside. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that you have to roll the tumbler after locking it on the combination, closing the cover. Therefore, you cannot simply use it, enter, and expect that it will lock behind you. Thus, if you want it to lock behind you, you must first open it, then close it, reset the tumbler, and then enter the yard. On the first gate, I installed it incorrectly as well, but I prefer that. Why? because it employs gravity to remain closed and prevents rain from entering the mechanism itself. So long as it's not locked, it can easily be left in place for future usage. Anyway, nice finding. Excellent concept. I hope a patent or trademark was obtained.

I'm a contractor, and certainly, with the right equipment and knowledge, we could make any standard deadbolt open a gate. However, regular deadbolts aren't designed for full external use, and you wouldn't want someone to reach over and open your gate for you.Since it is protected to guard intruders, it would be very difficult for someone attempting to break in to unlock this unit from the interior side. You would have to hold it in your hands to understand what I mean.Excellent unit; I recently purchased two for my home after installing them for clients.You don't need any sophisticated tools, by the way. A 1.5" hole saw, several drill bits, and a driver are required.If you want to go above and beyond, some chisels or a router would be excellent to have.

To keep the gate opener mounted, I ordered two of these locks. I am aware that someone might simply unscrew the mounting brackets, but if the pin with a clip had been left alone, it would have been far too simple to remove. The locks are effective, but I took down one rating for the fragile black plastic band that surrounds the lower portion of the lock with the GTO written on it. It usually comes off if I grab the lock by the vicinity of the plastic band and pull down. I left it on for aesthetic reasons even though it is not a part of the mechanism's design and could be taken off without affecting functionality. It seems to give a Masterlock more oomph, but without the quality.Due to a protrusion that prevented the pin from fully sitting in the holes in the bracket, I had to grind or sand off a little manufacturing flaw in the pin. The other lock could have fit that same hole without needing to be altered. Apart from these two problems, it completes the task at hand and performs well enough to earn a rating of four stars. There were four duplicate keys for each lock.

To replace a gate that had been in disrepair for 30 years, I just built a new one. The old gate had a cane bolt that I used to hold it open; it wasn't as strong as this one, but it had stamped protrusions on the shaft that worked with the brackets. It was a pain, tougher to utilize, and had less room to move between the brackets because of that. It is much better to use hardware that has a separate, hold-open holder since it makes installation simple and enables deeper, more secure ground penetration. Nice, sturdy, and nicely done.
