a small boat (17') with a long tightrope (trailer rail) between the winch and truck bumper. It is possible to strip from the knees down and step into a 12" deep pool of ice-cold water, but doing so in the winter is a great hassle. These facilitate and secure the process of working the boat at the ramp. Given the strong plate steel used, I believe the cost of these solid steps is rather reasonable. I weigh 185 pounds, and there is no sign of bounce or flimsiness when walking. As can be seen, the step does not lessen tongue swing. I'm quite pleased with the paint quality and the completed edges. So why not give the install 5 stars? 2 items The nuts are metric (17mm), so it was no great deal to borrow a neighbor's socket. A skinned shin is just waiting to happen because I reversed the bolts and the OEM instructions show the threaded end coming out the back plate. In order to shield the threaded end underneath the step and prevent it from finding your leg, I first inserted the carriage bolt through the backing plate. More difficult to tighten, but well worth it. However, this purchase still seems like a no-brainer and is something I should have made years ago.

This item is composed of thick steel and costs less than $40. I wasn't complaining, just startled. For overall strength, I graded it a "4". I'd rate the hardware as a "3." I couldn't get it to "start" because one of my nuts was stripped. When I tightened everything down, one of the bolts also broke. Later, I changed it to sit lower and closer to the frame (new holes), and I shortened it so it wouldn't hang down as far. I decided to purchase new bolts, nuts, and washers. It was simpler to adapt it to my application for only $40.

Whatever you pay for, you get. These have comfortable fitting carpet that is thick enough to remove dirt from shoes before entering a camper. They are also simple to clean with a water or leaf blower. For my second set of stairs, I will purchase a second set.

The rugs fit well (measurements were taken prior to purchase), the radius step design allows for a much better fit (the velcro strips should presumably prevent moving), and they were simple to install. I am only giving 4 stars at this time since I have yet to see how they hold up, even though the color mixes in well with the decorations on our trailer and the craftsmanship appears good.

On my '92 F-250, the CARR Hoop II XM3 steps look fantastic! They appear reliable and expert, and installation is generally very simple. My only issue was that the directions messed up a few procedures. Although they weren't detailed enough, it's easy to determine what has to be done and how things should be installed with any common sense. I installed both in total for around 1.5 hours (and I have a broken clavicle that still limits the full strength and motion of my right arm). Now that I have these, it is much simpler for my wife and my 3-year-old daughter to jump into the vehicle, as well as for me to get in and out of the driver's seat without wearing out the seat. In addition to being far less expensive per pair than a nerf bar, I would unquestionably suggest them to others looking for a simple installation, to add a step to make it simpler to get up into a truck, or simply for cosmetic purposes to make a truck appear prettier.

I installed these on the rear of my custom utility body truck for work, and boy do they make things easy. The price was also fair. Today, I received my second set. I just received the first pair for my truck and I adore them! a nice, deep, wide step. makes getting in and out of my truck's bed much simpler. To be able to access the front of the ladder racks, I purchased the second pair for the body's front.
