As a professional who has been repairing power equipment on practically anything for more than 20 years, I received 4 carburetors. The fuel system from the hose into the carburetors is currently suffering because of ethanol, and the restricted, irregular use of many varieties of this equipment is only increasing the number of "no starts" or "no power," or "won't run without the choke on," which are now so typical that it is genuinely terrible.I had a Craftsman snowblower with 5.5 HP that I had tuned, new belts added, one auger installed, and the carburetor rebuilt. The carburetor was tanked in an acid bath for 24 hours (Standard Practice in my shop), the needle valve and seat were changed, the plastic "stem" that goes into the carburetor body and is secured by the main jet nut was removed, the orings were replaced, the bowl gasket was replaced, the float level was adjusted, a new gasket was added to the intake tube, and presto! The snowblower started up. This equipment was ready to plow snow for many years to come after resetting the engine speeds to where they should be... with a little bit of care.When you run an engine with the choke even partially on, you accidentally "wash" down the cylinder(s) and contaminate the oil, which will always result in skewed mixture settings, idle settings, etc. I had also changed the oil because that's nearly always missed. Additionally, gassed-down motor oil is NOT as effective at lubricating or protecting as clean, fresh engine oil.One thing I forgot to mention is that it is imperative to remove and flush out the gas tank before reassembling the fuel system because even the smallest pieces of trash in your fuel supply can get sucked into the tank and eventually cause a main jet to become restricted, leading to all kinds of performance issues.It is absolutely crucial that anyone who has ever experienced fuel-related troubles with ANY device powered by gasoline flush their fuel source/can at least once a year! You will prevent MANY problems in the future!Since my customer was frequently away when it snowed, this specific snowblower remained idle with ethanol gasoline in it. Earlier this season, during our first storm, he quickly learned that his unit wouldn't even attempt to start, much less run. The fuel line was an extremely soft, severely corroded hose that had collapsed. This is a DIRECT reaction to the ethanol in gasoline because alcohol DESTROYS rubber and ethanol IS alcohol! This fuel line was sold 3 years and 4 months ago. I always change the gasoline line when I rebuild or replace a carburetor, and I also always flush the fuel tank. Simply put, it is an excellent habit to develop for your clients.Given that the price of one of these "Chinese" carburetors was less than the cost of rebuilding his original carb, my customer decided to give it a shot because, even after I marked it up a few dollars, it was still incredibly affordable. I completed all work, including replacing the fuel tank and lines and replacing the fuel tank, and then I bolted the carburetor in place. The machine now runs like new! The unit works perfectly once I reset the low idle speed and the maximum engine speed.The only problem I experienced with this carburetor was that the throttle plate had a very slight "bind" that prevented the engine governor from quickly adjusting the throttle position in response to shifting loads. After removing the carburetor and noticing a minor bind, I disassembled the throttle shaft and polished it with Krokus cloth. As a result, the bind is no longer there. The customer is delighted and the machine functions just as well as it did when it was brand-new.I'm going to take a risk and suggest this particular brand of carburetors. I have 5 more that I ordered for 2 other machines that are here waiting for the customers to authorize my repairing them, and I bought 2 more, one for a 5-5.5 HP Tecumseh

Sometimes it can be difficult to match matching part numbers. Regarding my ST224P, I discovered various part numbers and details for shear pin replacement. The question has different responses, even on this product page.Therefore, THESE will fit nicely if you have a Husqvarna ST224P and your book specifies that you need p/n 588077501. They are the exact same length, size, etc. They just come with the bolts and nuts. P/N 588077501 only has bolts; it lacks nuts.The only real distinction is that the original shear pin bolt on your snowblower can be brass or gold in color, while the nuts are silver. The bolts and nuts in this set are both brass in color.Therefore, this item, p/n 580790401, fits well if your ST224P came with a bag that is p/n 588077603 and/or your manual specifies that you need p/n 588077501.They are OEM, have the exact same cut as the originals, and seem to be made with the same materials as the ones that came with my snow blower.

Since I saw in the blowup illustration in the manual that the part number was 951-10974A and found some other MTD references, I figured it was a safe choice and used it to replace the carburetor on a Craftsman model 247.889571 snowblower. It would be really beneficial if the product details included listed the Craftsman snowblower models that it may be used with.The carburetor might have been replaced in the past, but since both the old and new were marked "Huayi" and I wasn't the snowblower's first owner, it's likely that this one is an OEM carburetor. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but I'll make an effort to prevent it from happening again (Stabil in fuel and run dry at end of season).My only problem, as several have already remarked, is that there wasn't a new gasket that matched the old one, so I had to reuse one of the old ones. I took away 1 star because of this. Except for the fuel filter and one gasket, I utilized everything in the kit.The snowblower is working fantastically, and hopefully it will fix the issue I was having with fuel pouring into the engine through the carburetor and tainting the oil when not in use.

This appears to be the replacement for my snowblower's Ariens # 631660 or "a" model's Tecumseh Hm80 155020. It hasn't been mounted yet, but it appears to operate. Because it is cable controlled, it doesn't matter if the throttle arm is shorter than stock. Thought the extra port, which I guess is for an air filter or vacuum line, would be a problem, but it will definitely function anyhow. Guy charged me $25 for the blower because it wouldn't start in the cold. He damaged the bowl gasket by disassembling the carb to jb weld a rust hole in the bowl. I'm going to paint the bowl to make it more durable.Updated, replaced the model above, bolted up the same, and worked nicely on this beat-up 1984 Ariens. I suppose I'll need some spray paint now.

PM0525312 Coleman Powermate GeneratorThe old carburetor was so poor that the throttle plate would not even rotate and gas would leak out of the carburetor from the trapped float. You know the routine. I got this carburetor to replace it.1) The governor rod has to be drilled into one of the three holes on the throttle for the carburetor to bolt on properly.2) After installation, the older units from 2003 needed more fuel than the new carburetor could provide, as evidenced by the unit wanting to "hunt" (engine runs, but revs up and down constantly; easily diagnosed by choking slightly and engine smooths out). As a result, it was necessary to clean up and use the two older jets.3) It is probably best to tap the threads while installing the heat shield rather than just using self-tapping screws because they will become too tight and break before the shield is fastened.4) After adding some seafoam and gas, I ran the appliance for 85–90 minutes to test it out. Unit now starts when properly choked on the first pull.A good carburetor all around. Excellent value and quick shipment with Prime. able to transport this unit to those in need for hurricane Michael relief.

This was bolted to a broken snow blower I had found for practically nothing. I found that the original carburetor was irreparably gummed up. As far as I can tell, genuine OEM as claimed. These shear pins function as intended. I snapped three on hidden branches along our tree-lined driveway during an early winter storm after not shearing my original pins for a while. I'm glad I have these spares on hand rather than risk damaging my gearbox. You risk crushing your auger tube and lowering the threshold for breaking the pin if you overtighten. It is highly advised to use a torque wrench in accordance with your owner's handbook. These days, you may buy things of a respectable quality for a fair price. I'd hazard a guess that if you possess a snowblower, you also own other machinery where the wrench would come in handy.
