I'm using this shoulder guard to cover a shoulder wound on a yearling. Although I placed my purchase for a medium, I did not need to take it in at the wither. Keep in mind that these most likely run smaller than the other brands I own because of this. Due to his youth, he moves around much more when lying down and standing up than an older horse would, but this guard remains firmly in place. The fit is really close to ideal. We switch between four different guards as they become dirty, and this one is without a doubt our favorite. One of our other guards has a buckle that is similar to the Derby Originals in style (plastic snap), but it needs to be taped to prevent it from escaping while under stress. While this one does, in fact, stay firmly bonded, I would personally like a metal one. I discovered a few stitches on the hem had come away after the first washing. Apart than that, I'm quite pleased with this buy.

My second Tough 1 blanket is this one. I also have a medium-weight waterproof polyfill one for the winter. This is for those chilly wet days when the blanket of winter is too warm. My Arab's fit is ideal; it rides beautifully on her neck without sloping too low in front. It doesn't have velcro across the front, but considering that it's simply a raincoat and not a winter blanket, this is ideal for my purposes. The velcro always seems to lose its grip after a while, in my experience. The blanket may be easily placed where it is needed thanks to the well-done lining, which slides over her coat. Although I don't have enough experience with it to comment on its durability, my second tough 1 (for the same mare) is now 4 years old and still going strong. The leg straps are the only item that doesn't fit perfectly. The straps themselves needed to be cut down a bit in length for them to fit; even after cutting them as short as I could, they were still too long. But given that this is a common issue with this specific horse, I'm used to it. Overall, I believe this to be a fantastic deal that is now performing flawlessly.

I was pleasantly surprised by the hood's quality considering the cost. The eye openings seem to sit well on my horse's face and don't seem to slide around much. The lycra is thick, there is fleece on the noseband, the zipper is strong, and the slot where you put the buckle through underneath is reinforced. It was delivered on schedule. The difference in size is the only issue I have. I chose a medium based on the dimensions described here (by blanket measurements); my mare wears a 72/74" blanket. It said "cob" as medium and "horse" as large on the box, therefore I would have chosen the large for my mare. A big would have definitely suited her a little bit better because the hood is a little snug on her, but the medium will suffice. Overall, a good purchase that I would make again.

This blanket is AMAZING. I'm from New England, where it can be dreadfully cold. My bigger mini has always been really toasty and dry thanks to this blanket. It completely withstands water. He has never, ever had a wet bottom. Additionally, it breathes. Best blanket I've ever owned, and unlike many blankets, it fits him precisely. In fact, I recently purchased a second one because I adore it so much and wanted to have a backup in case they ever decided to stop making it for whatever reason! I wanted to have one extra because it sometimes be difficult to find the 48". My blanket has been with me for four years, which means it has survived four harsh New England winters while remaining waterproof and undamaged. However, my guy respects his blankets and doesn't cause any harm. I cannot stress how highly I suggest this blanket!

I bought this sheet since it was less expensive than an ark and because I have a picky woman who thinks she will melt in the rain (funny quirk with those wicked witches). She is slim and stylish, which is a kind way of stating that nothing fits her. Even more so than the eight feet of water the ongoing monsoons have given us, she drowned in this sheet. The only person this sheet fit was the obese, obnoxious mare, and she can Houdini herself out of anything in a matter of minutes, so I was really disappointed. In other words, I haven't actually used this sheet yet. Overall, I would say that the quality for the price impressed me. Although I'm not sure whether this is what I was looking for, it seems like it will hold up to the rain without ripping. I needed something strong. I wouldn't suggest it for a horse that likes to do damage because the material is decent but a little thin. The leg straps on this sheet were the only significant issue I had with it. They are so long that I could have either let them hang and let her use them as jump ropes or I could have wrapped them twice (or three times) around her legs. Either option is dangerous for a horse in turnout. Given how reasonably priced it is, you could easily replace the leg straps and the sheet would still be more affordable than other brands. If it was offered in a 68"-69", I would purchase it once more. This was bought for an Arabian with medium height and build who could definitely benefit from some bulk time at the gym because it seems to be made for larger or more muscular horses. It is therefore probably a fantastic suit for QH/TB/WB types.
