This was just my creation. The top had one flaw—it was cracked. I told the company about it, and we are all waiting for a response.I received a response from the business very away; they requested information from me (fair request), and as soon as I provided it, they shipped out a replacement for the damaged piece. Actually, I was the only one who was late.Otherwise, this is a smaller piece of litter box furniture that is being replaced. Even though I had a high-sided litter pan and had used puppy pads in it, the cats still managed to urinate outside of the edges.The large litter loof was surprisingly simple to assemble. Simple instructions and no tools. I had to remove a piece of due to my error, but I wasn't concerned about the screws because it wasn't particle board.After putting it together, my husband and I moved it into position. Although not particularly heavy, it is large and awkward.I pulled out the silicone caulk after reading earlier posts from people who suggested sealing the seams.Additionally, I used double-sided tape to secure the puppy pads around the sides. I agree—far too careful!Last but not least, I placed the ridiculous inside the large litter pan I had in another room, covered it, and sealed the sides. Perfect!!! Although this litter box has never leaked before, I didn't want to take any chances.If you're debating whether to go jumbo, go for it! Nature'Miracle's hooded litter box is used inside.I tried the Kitty it Design Clean large cat pan with hood, but it was too huge to fit in the toilet.I still adore it even after my kitties have been using it for nearly a week. This unit comes in 8 pieces: back, left side, right side, top, bottom, left door, right door, and optional divider. You will need a large phillips screwdriver and a small phillips screwdriver for assembly. I took me about 45 minutes to un-package and assemble it myself. It is held together with approximately 18 cam-bolt combos and an equal number of dowels for added strength. The cat door entry can be installed on either the left of right. Each door has two hinges installed on the door, but you must attach the other side of the hinges to the main unit as part of the assembly process using two small screws on each of the four hinges. Helpful hint: it is difficult to line up the door hinge holes with the screw holes in the unit when the door is loose – prop the door up in near-installed position using some of the styrofoam packing material so that the hinge holes are aligned with the unit’s screw holes, then screw in the small screws. I would not call this a “fine piece of furniture†like some other reviewers – I consider it decent, with some of the wood stain not fully applied in crevices, and a minor cosmetic surface issue (not shipping damage) (not shipping damage). Neither of these are major issues.Modifications:s1) Pee-proof the interior (up to 8 inches in height) for about $25: others have complained that if your cat “misses,†urine will soak onto the wood and ruin the unit. Too bad they don’t offer a plastic interior liner to help protect from this. Here’s what I did instead: Purchase approximately 8 feet of plastic carpet runner (approx. 27 inches wide) at your local hardware store – not the clear type, the black plastic type for about $2.25 per linear foot. You’ll also need a 5 oz. tube of adhesive like Dap, a 3 oz. tube of silicone, a decent pair of scissors, and a tape measure. Step 1: cut a piece of the runner to the width of the interior floor, put in the base of the unit, align with the front base edge of the unit, and “fold up†the approx. 8-inch excess on the back wall of the unit, affix with adhesive - the floor and the rear wall are now protected. Step 2: cut a piece of runner the depth of the unit, and the height of the bottom of the cat entry door, and affix with adhesive – one side of the unit is now protected. Step 3: cut a piece of runner the depth of the unit, and 8 inches tall, and affix to the other side wall with adhesive – the other side of the unit is now protected. Protecting the front of the unit is more tricky - Step 4: cut a strip of runner the width of the unit, but only approx. 2inches tall – affix this strip vertically with adhesive to the ledge where the bottom of the doors touch the unit when they are closed – this will finish creating a “pan†for the interior that will catch and hold liquid. Step 5: seal all seams/gaps with Silicone: front, left, and right floor edges, and all four vertical edges. Not done yet – the front is only protected to a height of 1 or 2 inches – what if kitty pees on the inside of the doors? Step 6: cut two pieces of runner eight inches tall, one the width of the doors, the other 1 inch in excess of the width of the doors. These will line the interior of the doors to protect them, but the bottom of these runner pieces when installed must “stick out†(not be flush with the interior of the door) so that any liquid will be directed into the sealed pan†instead of the wooden gap between the pan and the door. Use a strip of wood of anything else handy and affix to the bottom rear of the runner pieces with adhesive to make them stick out when installed - affix the runner pieces to the inside of each door, with the sticking out portion just clearing the strip installed in Step 4. One runner piece will stick out 1 inch past the door edge – this is the door to close first to create an overlapping seal.2) Make the unit mobile for about $5. Purchase a 4-pack of 1 5/8 inch swivel bearing castors at your local hardware store. These are the types with pins instead of plates for installation. Remove the bottom four plastic feet from the unit (they are nailed in, so just pull them out with pliers) (they are nailed in, so just pull them out with pliers). Follow the installation instructions for the wheels to install them where the plastic feet were removed – my set says to drill 3/8 inch holes 1 3/8 inches deep, tap in the provided sockets, then push casters into sockets until they lock. Rated caster load capacity of 50 pounds should be more than sufficient since the loaded unit should weigh about 100 pounds, which can be handled by 4 X 50 pound-rated casters = rated for 200 pounds (just don’t let people sit on the unit).

Yeah, definitely too careful!Last, I took the ludicrous off my jumbo litter pan that was in another room, put it in, then put the lid on and locked the sides. Perfect!!! This litter box hasn't leaked in the past but I didn't want to take chances.If you are trying to decide whether or not to go jumbo- do! The litter box inside is Nature'Miracle hooded litter box.I tried the Clean jumbo cat pan with hood from Cat it Design- too big for the litter loo.Now that my cats have used this for about a week- I'm still loving it. I'd want to start off by saying that the packaging was perfect and that all the parts needed for assembly were included! Nothing is broken or damaged. Fast shipping, excellent value for the money. The project's completion is excellent. My kitties adore using it and laying on it. It serves as a wonderful little bench for both kids and adults to put their shoes on or to take a moment to unwind. (There is a weight limit; heed the instructions.)I never write reviews, but as a cat owner I know how difficult it can be to discover goods that are truly good, and I believe this to be one, albeit with some drawbacks.Here are my benefits and drawbacks:Advantages: -contains numerous cat odors like a CHAMP -beautiful piece of home décor -easy to follow assembly instructions -product is around 24lb and very sturdy. -little to no litter gets trailed outside if a litter mat is also placed inside.-cats enjoy sleeping on it with a comfortable blanket on top and utilizing it without any bother.-Cleanup is EASY because the litter stays in the box and isn't dispersed across the area.CONS: Since the screw holes aren't pre-riveted, it takes more work to insert them all and tighten them firmly.-As I was putting the bench's top piece on, it slipped out of my hands and fell, breaking off four screw sites in the process.-assembly must be done by a two-person team or by a single patient individual who is not sloppy.-Depending on how crazy your cat is, litter will spray out one of the vehicle door holes (the product broke partially because of my own error, but I was a little disappointed at how easy I was able to break from such a tiny error). The hardest part of assembling it was a step when you had to flip over a large flat piece with dowels in it, but the dowels kept falling out, so I merely moistened them to make them keep in place long enough to be moved into the proper area. My kitties embraced it right away. With the door open and their other litter box in its customary location so they had a comfortable choice, I first placed their old litter box inside the cabinet for them to use, but they preferred the cabinet and began using it right away. One cat was hopping through the opening as a game after about a day, so I closed the entrance because she didn't appear to bother at all. My large boy, a skinny 12-pounder, fits in perfectly. Comparable in size to a covered cat box, the opening.Reviewers of other litter cabinets advised using covered or high-sided litter boxes inside to prevent leaks or missing boxes. I discovered two covered, high-sided litter boxes that fit within. The first is an Iris "High Shield Litter Box," while the second is a Petmate "Deluxe Hooded Pan." If you're buying a new one, I would suggest the Iris box because it fits somewhat better and the Petmate box's opening is a little higher.
