My two budgies have been using this 16-ounce water supply bottle for 8 months now without any issues. Because I object to the thought of plastic molecules sloughing off into the water, I much prefer the glass bottles. I heard that this happens quickly, especially in the sun, so even changing the water every day won't stop plastic from getting into the water. The other major benefit of choosing glass versus plastic is that glass does not deteriorate over time (and has, with splits and breaking of my bottles for my birds). The product's mounting hardware is another advantage. This has a really strong, snug spring for the upper attachment and is very durable and practical. I particularly appreciate that the small floater that shows the water level is present.Every water bottle gives me the everyday worry that they would cease dispensing water because of, I guess, a stuck ball. I therefore check it every day by prodding the nozzle, just like my bird does when drinking, because I am a devoted carer. There have been no issues at all with this product so far.The only thing I have against this vendor is that a smaller bottle is not available. A 16 oz bottle would be heavier to handle and put on the cage than a smaller bottle would be—eight or twelve ounces would be nice—because I want to change the water for my lovebird relatively frequently.

In fact, I wish to rate 4.5 stars. Okay, it's my fault that I've shattered a few, but not when they were dropped on carpet. They are strong; I was just careless. In order to provide my rats lots of locations to get water (especially if they're being sluggish and don't want to run to the top half), I put 6 on my double critter nation. They don't drip or leak. My only complaint is that, like Kaytee bottles, I wish there was an indentation around the area where the holder could slide in to keep things a little bit steadier. (I've also had such, but they appear to leak.) Otherwise, they're fantastic!

I've used these in various sizes for parrots and sugar gliders for ten years, and I've never had a leaky issue. Since some people have said the issue is making sure the rubber washer is flat, I think it must be user error. Glass is what I use because it is homogeneous and sanitizes more successfully. The glass and the plastic head withstand being submerged in boiling, disinfectant-infused water.According to my usage of the device, the flexible metal wire intended to hold the bottle in place is the only element of the design that needs improvement. It works for the smaller bottle sizes of the same design, but if one uses a cage with more horizontal bars than vertical, the bottle will lean to the side due to its size and weight when full.Small to large birds and, of course, rodents like guinea pigs or big rats, can use this dispenser spout. It has enough volume to last a rabbit or chinchilla all day. Again, if a bottle leaks, make sure the rubber washer is flat and inserted firmly.
