When I first received the product last year, I wasn't sure about it, but I was astonished by how the gel managed to stay moist and keep the tree's base damp. I'm overjoyed to see it now available on Amazon! In the month the tree was up, watering was only necessary three times. I changed a malfunctioning irrigation system that used the same principles. Primer pump, which was always a problem, makes this work much better. The instructions were quite clear, and after a few pumps, the device primed and began to operate. The present bag is not really necessary, but it is a pleasant touch. It is best to have many replacement jugs on hand because it is messy to try to pour into the jug while it is still in the bag. It's important to remember that the watering stand's bottom and the bottom of the jug should both be at the same height. Although I understand there was research done and there were some unique parts included, I would have given it five stars if it weren't for the fact that I thought the pricing was a bit high for what were probably $2–$3 in parts. A pretty straightforward concept that is effective.

I adore my cast iron Christmas tree stand, but filling it with water is a hassle because of its low water capacity. I've attempted to rig my own siphon system in the past to keep it filled, but I was unable in doing so with the parts I could obtain. Then I discovered this item. I had exactly the same thing in mind. The most of the critical comments I've read about this product are from folks who don't comprehend what it is. The range of levels within the jug that match to the empty and full levels on my stand did take me a few days to figure out. However, I can now save that information for later years.This year, my tree has been a heavy drinker. One filling in a gallon milk jug lasts roughly one day. (Not one gallon per day. Only 4-5 vertical inches of the jug fit between the empty and full positions of my stand.) I'd like to extend the amount of time between fills, but finding a container that is broader and can store more water while still fitting within the required height range will be important.The ornamental bag is a lovely addition. However, it makes it impossible to see the water level in the jug. This year, I simply skipped it. To check the level and refill the jug when using the bag, you must remove the jug from it. I'm still trying to come up with a remedy for that. A ornamental box having a hinged side, perhaps.

great concept The valve in the bowl worked perfectly, but the magnet that was supposed to hold it vertically didn't function. I had to attach the tube and valve in the bowl with zip ties because of this. In order to fasten the tubing to the bag for refilling, I also had to create a funnel and attach tubing to it.
