After experiencing some trouble cleaning the windshield of a new (used) automobile, I was looking at a list of the best glass cleaners. I had used Windex a couple of times to clean it, but after those two times, the windows still looked very bad. One of my all-time favorite products is Rain-X.The Rain-X system is effective.How I use it: - To prevent dirt or dust from getting entrapped under the rainx, I clean the window with a rubbing alcohol/water solution.- Because I'm a bit lazy, I squirt the rainx directly on the window and spread it with a paper towel in a circular motion. - I let the rainx sit for 4 to 8 minutes (it generally becomes foggy by then). - I put a little water on a paper towel. The haze ought to dissipate.Advice: - According to some, rainx is hated because of the haze it causes. There shouldn't be any residue of haze. If so, be careful not to leave Rainx on for too long and use a little water and a paper towel to remove the haze (see my steps above).- Be sure to shake the rainx if it has been sitting around for a while. A small amount of solvent and product separation occurs, placing the product on the bottom. The product is excellent! Since many reviews claimed that the tool left stains and the pads don't clean properly, I was initially hesitant to buy. Although I can see how they arrived at those conclusions, reading the directions for utilizing the equipment and glass cleaner is ultimately what's important. In order to clean the inside of a windshield, you typically spray the entire thing with cleaning solution and wipe it down with a cloth or paper towel. You should only spray a small bit and let the tool handle the rest for it to function as intended. Spraying a lot of windshield cleaner on the glass will soak the pad and leave the majority of the cleaner on the glass. It is made for little amounts. I know it seems like such small amounts of cleaner wouldn't be able to clean anything, but they do! Less is more with this product, and following the directions will help you get a clear windshield.

I had my doubts about this tool based on a few of the reviews here, but I was sick of driving with a murky, slimy, or dirty windshield that seemed to be difficult to clean using the conventional cloth-and-Windex approach. Every time I tried to clean my windshield, I feared the awkward postures, the bottom of the glass where it joins the dashboard, which is usually out of reach, and the inevitability of streaks, which made me wonder why I should even bother.I chose this tool since it seemed to be the least shoddy of the bunch even though I was aware there were tools for this.To make a long tale short, it worked incredibly well. It includes three "socks," a microfiber (to wipe off after cleaning, I presume), a "rubbing" cloth, and some sort of mesh thing. For my car (a Subaru Outback with EyeSight), I couldn't spray anything directly on the windshield (Subaru fanboys know why), so I just attached the rubbing sock to the tool (it's a little awkward stretching it so tightly to fit over the triangular head of the tool), and then sprayed liquid on the cloth. The instructions say to spray cleaning fluid (I used some automotive glass cleaner akin to Windex), directly on the windshield, and then rub it with the toolThen I got to work, and this tool's design allowed it to easily reach into all the nooks and crannies of the windshield. The item swiftly covers a lot of ground because of its broad surface. I scrubbed the glass briefly before using the microfiber cloth to dry it off.There it was. Instead of the translucent windshield I've been using for the previous few months, I once again had a true transparent windshield, and it only took me half as long as the "conventional" way.Regarding those who assert that it is fragile and/or breaks easily, I fail to see how. Even though I've only used it once, the plastic is really sturdy and thick, so I'm not sure how you managed to break it. Oh, and someone had a problem with the hinge. That, in my opinion, is one of the nicest characteristics. In addition to allowing the head to easily swipe either horizontally or vertically, it also allows the head to rotate in any direction to follow the curve of the window.

I am shocked by this product because I am really fastidious about how clean I like my car to be. Long Chemical Guys Signature Series glass cleaner might produce excellent results, the amount of work required to get there was well beyond what a typical person could provide. I had been using it for a while (and was really unhappy with it). The sole benefit of the product was the scent when using it, which was plagued by constant streaking. Shine Society's Glass RX enters the scene. My glass seemed to vanish in less than two minutes (generously spray on, wipe in, and buff off using two towels). 100% free of streaks. My rear glass and windshield have never looked finer. I won't ever recommend or use another glass cleaner besides this one. I'll explain why you should spend $10 on a "micro fiber cloth on a stick," despite your possible doubts. I've been removing the fog film from my interior window for years using water and microfiber towels. It saves a tremendous amount of time and, at this time of year, sweat not to have to extend my arm or redo portions because the cloth didn't really make complete contact with the glass since it was clumped up in my palm. The front and back windows on my Ford Transit Medium height van are enormous. Yesterday I spent less than two minutes cleaning the inside of both my wife's and its windows. Although some of the "face smudges" on the rear glass required a healthy spray to clear the glass fully, I found that using very little water on the pad worked best. My wife claimed she wanted one too after seeing the results on her car!
