If you must move your cat while she's giving birth, do so carefully and slowly. Pick her up gently, using a towel or blanket to support her body, and place her in her new location. If possible, set up her new area ahead of time so she can familiarize herself with it before the big event.
Yes, you can touch newborn kittens, but you should be very careful. Newborn kittens are very fragile and their immune systems are not fully developed yet. If you must handle them, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly first and be very gentle. It's also important to not let them get too cold or too hot.
There is no evidence that mother cats reject their kittens if humans touch them. In fact, many mother cats are very tolerant of humans handling their kittens. However, it is important to handle kittens in a way that is gentle and respectful of their delicate bodies.
If your mother cat is not producing enough milk, there are a few things you can do to help. First, make sure she is eating a nutritious diet and getting enough water. You can also try gently massaging her breasts to stimulate milk production. If her milk production is still low, you may need to supplement her diet with kitten formula or goat's milk.

If you foster, you should absolutely purchase this package. We searched online for a better pricing on this nipple but were unsuccessful. You will just pay $4 per nipple for your kitties' soon-to-be favorite at just $40 for a package of 10. This nipple is so much simpler to get your newborn kittens used to than the standard (totally outdated) bottle nipple. This is possibly because it is skinner. But what about this nipple is the best? THE HOLE IS ALREADY CUT OUT OF IT! That's right, you may stop attempting to force your way through those pointless bottle nipples by making holes that are either too small or too huge, which completely destroys the nipples. The pre-cut hole is worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY in addition to its excellent shape.NOTE: The tip will need to be somewhat shorter because it is too long for newborn kittens, but it is a very simple process. Try it after a little cutting. Cut a little bit more if required. Even for brand-new kittens, you won't need to cut too much.

In light of some of the recent incidents in California, I purchased this box to supplement our emergency supplies. It will undoubtedly be useful to have on hand, even for common cuts and minor accidents. Bandages, antiseptic wipes, and other items included in a standard human first-aid kit make up the majority of the supplies, but I appreciate having a separate box just for our pets (2 dogs, 1 cat). The fact that it includes a first aid manual for animals is also a great idea, but you should be aware that much of the advice is sparse and concludes with visiting your veterinarian. However, even a minor extra step (such as splinting, bandaging, etc.) taken on the way to the emergency vet could be the difference between your pet's life and death. Styptic powder (to stop bleeding), vet wrap (non-adhesive wrap bandage), and a pet-specific healing lotion for minor cuts and scrapes are the other three products I've added. It would be a good idea to list any medications your pet needs as well. The number of each item is limited, as it is with most first-aid kits, so be sure to replace them as needed to ensure the kit is complete. The fold-out flaps with additional places for any goods you decide to add and a space to list emergency numbers are another feature I truly enjoy. All in all, a necessity for any pet owner.

Since they are the only firm with an anti-migrating mechanism on their chips, I have been with Home Again for over 15 years, during which time I have had 12 of my own pets as well as numerous foster children. Other firms' chips do not have this feature, which could allow the chip to move into different areas of your animal's body, such as their shoulders or ribs, making it harder to scan and simpler to overlook in the event that your animal ends up in the care of animal control. A Home Again chip has never moved in my experience. On two of my animals, I've used 24 hour pet watch and Petlink; however, both of their chips migrated, necessitating a Home Again re-chipping.I got my dog spayed lately through a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, but I didn't like the microchip firm they recommended through their clinic, so I bought this chip. If I brought it in, they agreed to implant this one. You shouldn't be able to feel or even detect the chip if it has been inserted properly. Your pet won't even notice.Delivery and shipping were considerably quicker than anticipated. The item was sent in excellent shape, in sterile packing, with a tag and the registration documents (although you can register by phone or online as well).Your chip will be registered FOR THE LIFE of your animal once you register it with the business (for a one-time price of $19.99). There are NO ANNUAL FEES. I have used their services for 15 years, as I previously stated. Over the years, I've only paid ONE time for all of my pets and numerous foster animals. I frequently transfer and update information. No yearly registration fee is required. This needs to be stressed because there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about annual registration versus the add-on options the company provides.Other perks are available for an extra $19.99 per year, but again, purchasing them is optional and doing so has no bearing on your registration status. They are merely packages that the business sells to boost earnings. Other than the registration, I have not found anything else to be useful. You can (and ought to) transfer the owner information on the chip together with the sale or other change of ownership of a pet. When you get in touch with Home Again, they send you the ownership transfer documents (similar to a car title). The chip is only useful if your information is kept up to date at all times. There are only 3 steps you must take after the chip has been inserted:Make sure the microchip is registered, get it scanned by your veterinarian at least once a year to ensure it is still functional and detectable, and keep your registration information current. (So many folks disregard this section.) Update your microchip registration in the manufacturer's database as soon as you move or if any of your information, notably your phone number, changes.

I sincerely wish I had discovered a kit similar to the BSTEAN feeding syringes with needle and caps years ago. I've spent a lot of money trying out various syringes, needles, and feeding, dispensing, suctioning, and storage equipment for caring for cats and kittens, but this basic, affordable package takes care of practically all of my needs. Nothing flashy, but absolutely necessary (you'll still need a decent, soft nipple for feeding infants). The only modifications I'd make are to include a longer needle (for pulling liquid into syringes, especially flea medications purchased in bulk) and a few larger syringes, at least 15mL, as this is the amount I often use to gradually hydrate an average-sized cat over a few hours. If you're new to pet care and are unsure of what you'll need yet, this kit is a gold mine because you'll rapidly figure it out! The defined increments won't fade with regular cleaning in warm, soapy water, as is the case with practically all syringes, so I'm confident they'll be more useful for longer if you spray some clear polyurethane on the outside. The kit is neatly wrapped in plastic and contained in a box that is the perfect size to accommodate all the parts. For the first time EVER, whomever assembled the kit made it inexpensive for everyone! I am so sick of pet goods companies' avarice that I like finding fantastic prices and promoting them to everyone in creation for people who are struggling to support strays and damaged animals. Additionally, it's a good kit for artisans to use for distributing paint, glue, or other materials. I heartily endorse it because of the locking tips, temporary storage caps, suction needle, and affordability in particular. Good work!

When I saved a cat that had been left abandoned on my property a few weeks ago, I used this solution for the first time. Talk about sticker shock—I paid over three times as much for the first container at the nearby pet supply store! At the time, Little Tony was around 4 weeks old and required constant feeding. At that age, missing at least three or four meals would mean he had not eaten for the majority of the day and was dehydrated. He was quickly back on track, fully hydrated, and feeling strong and energised thanks to this rich recipe.I did have to throw away a portion of the first carton since the solids must have settled to the bottom because I didn't shake it vigorously enough. I made the decision to give it a good shake each time I took it out of the refrigerator after receiving my first Amazon order and reading the instructions once more. This has greatly improved the consistency of the mixture. I can't emphasize enough how crucial it is to thoroughly shake it before using it. This is made simple by the resealable top because there is no chance of leakage when you shake it.Although you will probably still require a funnel for a breastfeeding bottle, the pouring spout works really nicely. My kitten is currently eating largely kitten weaning cereal from a dish, but I'm still giving it a small amount of this formula as a supplement. I do suggest it for kittens who can lap from a dish as well as adults who are bottle feeding.

In our yard, underneath a bushy shrub, we discovered an abandoned kitten. Even though it was a scorching day, we decided not to touch anything (including the cat) and instead left him in the hopes that the mommy would come back. She sadly didn't.The little cat was brought inside, and my husband went out to get one of these kits. The kitten could not have been older than a few days because his dried umbilical cord was still attached. We utilized the Kitten Milk Replacer powder that came with the package we purchased. Pumpkin the cat was able to effortlessly sip from the little teat despite the bottle being almost as big as the feline. Now that Pumpkin is two weeks old, we purchased additional kits to have them available. Little Pumpkin feeds much more effectively from this bottle and teat than he did with a "Miracle Nipple" and syringe, which caught me off guard.Pumpkin has undergone a vet examination, and thus far, he is doing fantastic. The small bottle brush is fantastic, and the nipples appear ideal for our new rescue kitten. I would definitely suggest this set.One thing that worries me is that when Pumpkin grows up and gets teeth, he might "chew up" or tear the teat. But if and when it happens, we will handle it!

The life of a kitten foster mother has recently become much simpler. Each nipple is compatible with a luerlock syringe's hub. The precise amount of formula that babies are consuming may be ascertained so much more easily with syringes. Puncturing nipples is quick, secure, and simple using the tiny white instrument. This package expands to meet your foster children's needs. 10/10 I'd buy it again.

I use this pill dispenser to administer thyroid medication to my cat in size #5 capsules. The smaller end of the capsule fits perfectly into the gun's tip when I simply insert it there. The negative? The type of pill you are using will either work or it won't at all. Really, the pill should fit virtually perfectly. Even when cut in half, the Drontal tablets I obtain from the vet are too huge and circular to fit in this pill dispenser. The tip is plastic and stiff, which is both good and bad since it prevents the pill from falling out as easily and because it makes it difficult to insert larger pills like you can with certain pill guns that have flexible, rubber ends.I have no experience utilizing it with pills or tablets that are smaller than my #5 capsules because I haven't tried it.

This item is a blessing. My cat was diagnosed with CKD and put on medication, but the little jerk kept cheeking his tablets! I would discover them vomited up in a little mush or spit out under the bed. no longer. I force open his mouth, bend his head back, and blast the pill down the back of his throat. I then keep his mouth shut for a short while. To make sure he swallows it, I normally tilt his head back and open his lips once more. If not, he usually swallows what is left after this. now only takes me a few seconds!!

These simple feeding syringes were recommended to me by a friend. These were literally a lifesaver for my cat, who needed assistance feeding for almost a week! Although I did had to remove the tip from one of the feeders, everything else went without a hitch. I'm appreciative of how simple these are to use when my cat is stressed out from being spoon-fed and I'm stressed out from feeling awful for her.Note: To prevent your cat from inhaling food into his or her lungs, always insert the tip of the syringe into the side of your cat's mouth. Push a little bit at a time.I adore how the "food" syringe gives measurements in both milliliters (ml, the same as cc) and teaspoons.Updated on August 2013The meal syringe from this kit had to be used (sadly) 3–4 times each day for the past 8 days. I never wash it with ordinary soaps or put it in the dishwasher. The most I ever do is submerge it in almost boiling water, occasionally adding a drop of white vinegar (which eliminates bacteria from cats' lips), and letting it sit there until the water cools. However, so far, so good. The numbers and markings are starting to lightly rub off. I've included a photo showing the difference between the syringe I've been using and the new one I just bought. After trying my brand-new syringe, I've learned that the small sticking of the blue plunger is actually caused by wear on the device rather than the food in the syringe as I first assumed. I've read that you can lubricate the plunger with a very small amount of oil (olive, coconut, etc.).Additionally, if feeding cat food that has been pureed or mixed, there will be some food left on the "bottom" of the blue plunger; I'd estimate that there will be between 0.5 and 1 milliliters. Additionally, you won't be able to feed the about 1 ml of food that is still in the syringe tip. Therefore, when using these syringes, you MAY lose a total of about 2 ml of food or medication. As of right now, I'm giving the syringe 5 stars in my review, but I might have to lower it to 4 stars in the next weeks depending on how worn it gets.
If you're wondering how to tell if your kittens are getting enough milk, there are a few things you can look for. First, check to see if they're gaining weight. Kittens should gain about 1/2 ounce a day. You can also look at their stools. They should be soft and easy to pass. If your kittens seem listless or have diarrhea, they may not be getting enough milk.
When a cat is nursing, they will need extra care and attention. Here are some tips on how to take care of a nursing cat: -Make sure they have a clean, comfortable place to nurse. This can be a secluded spot in your home or a quiet area in your yard. -Give them plenty of fresh water and food. Nursing cats need more calories than usual, so make sure their diet is high in protein. -Keep an eye on their weight. Nursing cats can easily become overweight, so make sure you are monitoring their food intake
You can touch a cat's kittens after they are born, but it is best to wait until they are a few weeks old. Kittens are very fragile and can easily become sick if they are handled too much.
Newborn kittens cannot be left alone for more than a few hours at a time. They need to be fed every few hours and their litter box should be cleaned daily. If you must leave them alone for longer periods of time, make sure they have a warm place to sleep and plenty of food and water.
After a cat gives birth, she will bleed for about a week. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
Kittens should nurse for about 5-10 minutes at a time, depending on their age and size. If they are young or small, they may need to nurse more frequently.
