As instructed, lightly dampen a microfiber towel (included) and use this product to clean your dog's coat by rubbing it both with and against the direction of the fur. I cannot emphasize enough how initially my dog did NOT enjoy this. First, I'm no scientist, I don't know why pet dander affects me worse than other people. I was about to get rid of my dog when I started searching for pet dander remedies. Thanks to Google stalking me, this popped up in my amazon app a few days later. Worth a shot. I have a 30lb mutt, with short hair so I didn't use very much. The directions state "Lightly moisten a microfiber towel (included) and cleanse your dog with this stuff by rubbing the coat both with and against the lay of the fur". I can't say enough about how much my dog did NOT like this at first. Then I kept reading, and it says to "Pay particular attention to the areas of the body that your dog licks the most often, especially the genital area." Now my dog can't get enough. She brings me the bottle every day when I get home from work. I had to start hiding it from her.

Because I needed a light wash, I've been using this on my adult dog for more than two years. Because too much soap or lather might irritate a dog's skin or eyes and make it difficult to wash away completely, we always added water to the shampoos when I used to work at a dog groomer. Therefore, this shampoo is not what you're looking for if you want a high-sudzing dog shampoo (which I never advise using on a dog of any age).Wash the dog's body first, as another reviewer suggested. USE A WASHCLOTH TO REACH THE FACE. Don't just drench it in shampoo. Avoid getting water or soap in the dog's ears. Make sure to completely wash off the soap before running your hand over his head, ears, and neck to check if it still has a soapy feeling. Should it, keep rinsing. Allerpet is great for dogs. One of my two aussies, who sheds, has dander, and the other is allergic to it. I prayed and hoped before placing this order, and I'm very pleased I did. However, I discovered that I like it better in a spray, so I got a spray bottle for it. I had no trouble peeling the label off and sticking it to the bottle. The dogs may now be sprayed, worked in, and brushed with greater ease. I lightly spray the carpets in their sleeping areas as well before vacuuming.
