Are Rabbit water bottles good?

There is a lot of debate over whether or not water bottles are good for rabbits. Some people say that they are essential in order to keep your rabbit hydrated, while others claim that they are unnecessary and can even be harmful. Personally, I believe that water bottles can be a great way to ensure that your rabbit stays hydrated, particularly if you live in a hot climate. However, it is important to make sure that the water bottle is of good quality and that it is cleaned regularly. If you are unsure about whether or not a water bottle is right for your rabbit,

Oh my God. FINALLY. It was challenging enough to keep the cage clean with just one leaking water bottle when we received an unexpected litter of guinea pigs. We tried several different bottles, but they all either leaked or let out so much water when the piglets sipped from them that the cage was ALWAYS drenched. The other bottles were likewise constantly making loud clicking noises. None of those issues exist with this bottle! The provided bottle is modest, but because it doesn't waste a drop, I still refill it less frequently than the old 24 ounce bottle. The fact that they are uncommon in our home and that it holds my daughter accountable for meeting their demands means that I may try a larger bottle in the future, so I won't worry about it. Any droplets are now VERY apparent because the bottle is positioned over a plastic shelf. The shelf is still dry after several hours, the piglets are getting water perfectly well, and there is no mess! I also don't hear EVERY SIP that each piglet takes. This could very well be the best water container ever created for little animals. EVER. I adore it.Update: There may have been 2 or 3 drips on the shelf over night. WOOHOO!!!

These bottles are beloved by my bunnies. Despite being smaller than others, they neatly attach to the cage housing our rabbits, hold there, and don't drip. They're simple to remove and refill, however I will say that this square-base model is far better than the round-necked model (comes in light green). Due to its square design, there is less chance of a thirsty rabbit pulling it off when it is placed back into the holder and snaps into place. The spherical base one, however, will easily be knocked off at first sip if not given a tiny twist each time until it clicks twice. We have one of each, and I'm the only one who seems to know how to hold the green bottle with the circular neck correctly.Over the past six months, I've tried a few different water bottles for our buns, but this is by far my favorite. Each morning and night, my 4-year-old, who is legally the bunnies' adoptive, has no trouble replenishing the bottles. All the others were recycled or thrown away.

Living World Eco + Water Bottle, 6-Ounce Review:

The only chew-proof bottle I could find was this one. Every plastic water bottle I attempted, including those with merely a plastic cap or guards around them, was being chewed through by our hamster. Because he would chew through a bottle overnight, the water would pour all over his cage and saturate the bedding, making me concerned that he would become dehydrated or unwell. It worked with this glass bottle with a stainless steel spout and top. I'm quite happy with this purchase.

RentACoop No Drip Small Animal Water Bottle. BPA Free. Best Water Bottle for Small Pet/Bunny/Ferret/Hamster/Guinea Pig/Rabbit Review:

I bought this for my guinea pig, and I rate it 5 stars because of the spout and how simple it is to fill. The usual rollerball style water feeders that my guinea pig has used in the past often drip and saturate her bedding, but this one does not drip and, when set up properly, only drips into her mouth rather than all over the cage. We were very worried that she wouldn't be able to use this alternative method, but she picked it up straight away after day one. The metal spout is of good quality and appears to work well, but my one and only major complaint is that it deserves a zero for hanging on the side of the cage because it tips sideways despite my tying it in a few places to hold it up straight. I don't like having to tie it down there because I do take it off to wash it thoroughly. But if I ever need to buy another one, it will be this. I believe a larger version of this would probably be helpful for other pets. I've discovered that rollerball style water feeders don't seem to provide enough water to any pet, regardless of size. You definitely don't want your tiny pal to become dehydrated!

LoveLoveLoveLove!!! I almost didn't buy it since I was so concerned about my yellow-naped Amazon drinking from it. She has been in my care for about 30 years, and during that time, she has only used a cup to drink. Because it was so difficult for me to keep her water clean, I started to look for other choices. She didn't convince me that she was getting enough water from it for about two weeks. She escaped my view, and at first she appeared terrified. She agreed to play with it when I tried covering the metal part with a thin layer of peanut butter.I'm so glad she's finally taking her medicine! Always use clean, fresh water! Do not regret making this purchase at all!

Lixit 16oz Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottles for Guinea Pigs, Rats, Chinchillas and Other Small Animals. Review:

Dripping has been a complaint from some. Although the instructions mention that the bottle must be fully filled before being turned over and installed, they omit to mention that doing so is vital to produce a suction that will PREVENT LEAKING. I'm hoping that this explanation will allay some of the customers' concerns.Additionally, my shih tzu puppy soon discovered how to use it, but it doesn't provide enough water for him to make the effort worthwhile. Therefore, if you're looking for a bottle for your tiny dog, this probably isn't the one for you, but owners of hamsters, guinea pigs, and rodents should love it.
