These motors will save you more money if you drive a Toyota or Lexus than anything else you can get on Amazon, even the home 100 Dollar Bill Counterfeit Kit.My 2006 4Runner has need multiple motor replacements. I spent $120 replacing the complete front driver's side actuator when it initially failed, but after that I wised up and just started replacing the motors. The front driver's side of the vehicle has been completed three times, the rear driver's side once, and most recently, the rear passenger side.I initially received these motors from Amazon in single pieces, but after learning how rapidly they degraded, I decided to purchase this 4-pack for future repairs. Though time will tell how long these motors survive, I can state that I have yet to replace a motor twice after repairing it with these motors.The actuators on the back doors, in particular, can be a little finicky to replace, but it is definitely possible. In the end, just replace the motor to save some money. Holy smokes! Some of the other reviews mention paying over $600 to have the actuator fixed at the dealer. Replacing these items is not difficult; if I can do it, anyone can.I'm happy with my buy.

Superb value! my 1998 Chevy 1500 could not fit. I was able to install and alter the bracket. However, after realizing that my O.E.M. was not the issue, I restored them. My fuse blew out. And inside the plastic retainers, the grease had transformed into gum, seizing the function. Brake cleaner was used to clean all of my rods. Apply grease to each retainer. silicone spray was applied to all door mechanisms. These I'll reserve for another time.So that I could align my bracket to work with them on my 1998 Chevy 1500, I made note of a few measurements. The standard door rod has a 5/8" lock/unlock travel. The travel of a standard motorized door is 1 3/16". The travel on these is 3/4". They might still function, I suppose, but the rods and retainer must be well cleaned and lubricated. To eliminate any drag, silicone should be sprayed all mechanisms. Otherwise, you'll have to repeat this.

I put these in a robotic drummer as the motors. As you might expect, this application demanded that these motors be continuously and quickly triggered. These automobile door locks weren't actually intended for this type of purpose, so I assumed they wouldn't be strong enough to handle the duty. They were inexpensive, and I was just trying to make a functional proof-of-concept model before I spent money on more expensive components. As anticipated, these motors did experience overheating when operating at full power. I can't recall what my fastest cycle speed was, but it was really quick and I could keep up with the beat of the majority of songs. The consistency of timing across all 4 of the locks I tested shocked me as well. Their response times were all quite consistent. The system was functioning fine after some voltage and amperage modifications; however, my motor driver started to malfunction before these door locks. The setup lasted for a few minutes until it started skipping beats and losing power. Again, though, the failure here was with the driver, not with the door locks. I could continue working for a few minutes without suffering any damage after a cool-down cycle. These door locks performed wonderfully during torture tests for the drumming project. Therefore, I don't think you'll have any trouble utilizing them for what they're intended for—car door locks. Any car you put them in shouldn't have any trouble outlasting them.

My Silverado's original right tailgate rod clip fell apart as a result of deterioration. This made the tailgate latch malfunction exactly when I needed my truck most.On to the study. After locating the small clip, I headed to Amazon (which, after all, has practically everything). These (right and left - there is a difference) were ordered along with another necessary item to complete the order. When they arrived, I had a completely functional tailgate once more five minutes later. We won't talk about the asking price the dealer had for these.As mentioned by another reviewer, insert the rod into the clip after the empty clip has been inserted into the latch. It's simple peasy, but I don't think it's feasible to do it any other way.

It functioned perfectly once I unplugged it from the system and powered it with an external 12 volt supply.I then double-checked the door lock master device, and it was still intermittently signaling the actuators. The wiring between the gadget and the actuator at the pivot point of the door hinge was the source of the issue, I discovered. The wiring had been degraded by nine years of opening and closing the drivers door because it was only occasionally making contact. Everything now functions as it should after I upgraded the wiring and exterior sleeve. I also saw the bracket and actuator rod from within the door to be bright, tidy, and free of corrosion. Due to inefficiency, I've had to repair doors with metal solenoid actuators in prior projects, and when I got them back, they were rusty, sticky, and generally a mess. These universal actuators work well since they are enclosed in plastic or nylon and have no exposed metal operating parts. It may be your installation and not the product that is the issue if you have this type of actuator and it appears to be failing or not working. I was shocked that some extremely messed-up self-installs even managed to function, but eventually they fail due to a lack of moral mechanical skill and simply blame the product.

I can't express how pleased I am with the InstallGear system I bought and set up. Before acquiring this system, I looked into MANY various keyless entry systems. When I contacted InstallGear before to making a purchase with a warranty query, I was IMMEDIATELY alleviated of my worries about the warranty length and the level of customer assistance I might anticipate. I asked a question through Amazon's contact form, and InstallGrear responded to me with the necessary information within an hour. When I bought the system, I was concerned about its quality because it was so inexpensive compared to the other systems I had looked into. The caliber of every item in the kit pleasantly impressed me. Installing a keyless entry system was new to me, but after watching several YouTube videos that showed how to disassemble the door panels on my 2010 Toyota Matrix, I discovered that the entire process was actually quite straightforward. I've attached a video to demonstrate the kit and how the installation of the cylinders and cable brackets went (this is my first film, so excuse my amateurishness). If you have a cable locking system, I STRONGLY advise obtaining the cable brackets, which are sold separately. I also wanted to mention that, because of my installation, I needed an extra item from the kit. I contacted InstallGear about this, and they quickly sent me the extra piece I needed. Avoid the expensive kits that are available and BUY THIS KIT FROM INSTALLGEAR instead. I could not be happier with the quality of the kit and customer care I have received from InstallGear. I saved at least $120 compared to other kits I studied. For more than a month, I've had this kit put on my everyday car, and I like the keyless entry feature.

The item was good to me. It wasn't too expensive. Before attempting to install this product on your own, I would recommend watching the YouTube videos several times. Putting the locking rods together was the most difficult step. I took around two hours to disassemble and reassemble everything. Undoubtedly not the simplest component I've ever changed on my truck.
