Only today's shackle ends were installed. Big task, but possible. As soon as the swaybar bushings are here, I'll move on to the front spring eyes. Get more grease. You'll require it. Pulling the sleeves into the poly bushings requires the use of longer bolts and wasshers. With age, these outdated 4WD trucks start to stray. These bushings will be helpful in conjunction with a complete suspension and steering rebuild. The entire kit helps make your truck running straight and more stable in the turns, though it'll never run like a Vet. My rubber shackle bushings, which were 30 years old, were loose and egg-shaped. I note that they do help some people with control and that they ought to last just as long.

Within a year of one another, I have now had the opportunity to install both the red Prothane and the black Energy Suspension shackle bushings on the same vehicle (the bushings didn't fail; the jeep rolled rapidly, and I had to replace the suspension). Much less work was required to install the black bushings. They have so far performed equally as well, if not a little bit more quietly.

These are brand-new additions to my 1985 Ford Bronco. It is a pain to take out and even more difficult to put back in the original rubber bushings. These were both really strong and incredibly simple. An installation tip: You don't have to take off the metal sleeve that was on the original bushings if you're using these bushings. Installation is quite simple because all you have to do is press the old bushing out, clean the sleeve, then press the polyurethane bushings into the old sleeve.Bushing grease was also provided in large quantities. I used up all the grease in the jar, fully lubricating both bushings.

I used energy suspension products to replace all the rubber bushings and mounts on my vehicle this past summer, so I can't recall if this one was simple to install or not. Some of the bushings were really difficult to extract, but once all the rust and grime had been removed, the new ones always appear to slip in fairly effortlessly. When applying the grease, use disposable gloves because it is quite sticky. Since I don't experience any of the squeaks that other people complain about, I believe I installed them correctly. Since the old rubber was 25 years old and entirely worn out, it is difficult for me to tell if I am experiencing any more vibrations or not. So far, I'm satisfied with the energy suspension goods. Although I don't know how long they'll survive, I'm confident that the rubber bushings they replaced were long beyond their prime.
