On my 2000 4Runner, it performed admirably. My advice is to use the clamp approach (2 shop clamps..)Low pressure, not too tight, only has to be pumped to 5 psi The bleeder should only be used for pressure; do not add brake fluid to it. In the MC, drain the old fluid. Refill, attach adapter, pump to 5 psi, and then adjust as necessary to maintain pressure. Bleed brake farthest from MC (perhaps on the rear pass side). Take care not to fully drain MC. Break seal, replace MC, and repeat. Taking my time, it took me 30 minutes to do all 4 wheels. spilled not a drop... When I completed this task a year ago, I filled the bleeder with brake fluid, and even though it passed the initial pressure leak check, it leaked at the MC. Although I have the proper MC adapter (threaded) for my 2005 Miata, I still like to utilize the bleeder as a pressure source and keep adding brake fluid to the MC as I move around the car. As an added bonus, there is no need to clean the bleeder.Revision: 2-2-2018 I built this setup and now I use it with the power bleeder. As you can see in the picture, this works much better and doesn't leak pressure. Once more, only using 5–10 psig as a pressure source I quickly and effectively depressurize and refill each wheel... Keep your MC's level above low level.
