Brake lights and tail lights are both required by law in most states, but there are some key differences between the two. Tail lights are required to be visible from 500 feet away, while brake lights must be visible from 300 feet away. Tail lights are generally red in color, while brake lights can be either red or amber. Finally, tail lights are only required to be lit when the vehicle is in motion, while brake lights must be lit whenever the brakes are applied.
On most cars, the tail lights and brake lights are on the same fuse. This is because they both use the same filament in the bulb. When you step on the brake pedal, the brake light switch completes the circuit and allows current to flow to the brake lights.
If your taillight is broken, you will likely get pulled over. It is best to replace your taillight as soon as possible.
If your car's tail light is cracked or broken, you will need to replace the entire lens. This is because the lens is made of plastic and is not designed to be repaired. You can purchase a replacement lens at most auto parts stores.

In order to resolve a problem I was having with my brake light on the driver's side of my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, I purchased this. Even though I had tested the bulb and found that both filaments were intact, the "lamp out" sensor remained sporadically turning on even though the taillight was functioning. The brake light would occasionally not turn on when I pressed the brake pedal, but other times it would. The lamp out sensor would periodically switch on and off and chime at me. The issue stopped when I swapped out my old circuit board for this one, and now everything functions as it should. I also replaced the brake/taillight bulb, which gave me further assurance that the bulb itself was not the problem. Maybe five minutes were needed to replace it. I only required a # 25 torx head and a phillips head screwdriver for the task. A drill accelerated the process. Just be careful not to peel off the screws in the plastic by lowering the drill clutch. Although this is not a Mopar part, it solved my issue nonetheless.

This works wonderfully and resembles the Optronics passenger side light so closely that they don't appear out of place. I'm not sure what the $6.50 price difference is between it and the Optronics light. I got this before our camping vacation because the Optronics light was backordered, reasoning that if it didn't match, I would wait for the Optronics to arrive. It was newly discovered, it seems. I simply mailed the Optronics one back when it arrived to save myself over $6. It's good to have proper license plate holders once more as opposed to what I had previously pieced together, and at $10, it was an obvious choice. Quite simple to put together, but the screw holes weren't the same as my originals. I have silicone filled the old ones and am ready to start.

These LED lights are in place of the Truck-Lite 60 series incandescent lights that were leaking on my boat trailer. The new lights' housing was the same size as the old lights' housing, but their rubber grommet was significantly more flimsier and thinner than the Truck-Lite grommet. The 40-year-old Truck-lite grommets were reused in their place, and I threw away the new ones. These lights fit into the space flawlessly. The new lights just fell out because they were so loose when I attempted using the grommets that came with these lights.Although the pins are offset with variable spacing, the wire connector used with the new lights is remarkably similar to the Truck-Lite connector. If I could have used the original electrical connectors, it would have made the installation so much simpler. To wire the new connectors on, I had to cut the old connectors off. It wasn't a big deal, but it took a lot more time than was required. Truck-Lites are essentially the norm in the industry. The new lights' brilliance makes me joyful. I'll have to wait and see if these last as long as the originals did, which was 40 years.

The old license plate was made of plastic and had a stress crack, but the light was still functional and has been for 18 years, so I mounted this on my motorhome. All hardware was included with the LED Trailer License Plate Lights with Bracket.I reviewed both positive and negative reviews before placing my order. As for myself, I have only had it a few days and am unable to vouch for the LED light's longevity as other reviews indicated that it failed after a few period of use. My backup plan, however, was to save my old light and drill a hole in the back of this LED light, put the old light inside, cover the hole with silicone, and wire in my old light, which has lasted for 18 years without blowing out. Given that I have Amazon Prime, it should have shipped and arrived within the allotted two days; nevertheless, it took 4 days to arrive, causing me to miss my flight. There is no explanation for why a simple item from a single order took so long to arrive. We'll see how long the LED lasts, and if it breaks, I'll update this review. Regarding the mounting, it didn't fit flush against the RV, so I filled the gap with silicon and butyl tape. Once I attached the license plate, the screws protruded and poked the fiberglass of my RV. I therefore added some washers to the screw heads to pull them back away from the RV and added a piece of waterproof foam and a small amount of silicon to the screw end to cushion it. I then used 3M VHB Tape and Velcro to attach my $100 AUTO-VOX CS-2 Wireless Backup Camera to the top.It was properly packaged to prevent damage, had good package protection, was simple to open, and included all the necessary hardware.

Excellent value overall for a simple-to-install LED tail light kit. Clear and bright lights that don't look garish like some LEDs do. Looks to be as durable as OEM and to be composed of high-quality components. Significantly Better than Stock Lights.Using a Phillips screwdriver, a 3/8" socket, wire cutters/strippers/crimpers, 22-gauge (red) butt-splices, ring terminals, and electrical tape, installation took less than an hour. The holes must be slightly bored out since the 3 mounting studs on the LED lights have a slightly bigger diameter than the factory mounting bolts. The three appropriate wires on the factory wiring harness must be spliced into the LED tail light wiring circuit. I joined the new light harness to the old tail light harness, leaving both stock harness connections in place, and then I linked the newly modified harness into the factory body wiring system. Additionally, to provide the necessary Ground for the Lights, the White Wire from the LED Tail Light harness will require a crimped Ring Terminal grounded/bolted to one of the mounting studs. The following are the connections between the factory tail light harness and the LED:LED the factory for the black tail light wire Unbroken White WireLED the factory for the red stop/turn signal wire Black/Dark Green StripeLED Reverse light wire in yellow is sent to factory Black/White StripeRing terminals are used to fasten LED White ground wire to the mounting stud on the tail light housing. The Factory Turn Signal Flasher needs to be changed in order for the Flashers/Turn Signals to function properly.I used an electro-mechanical Novita EL12 turn signal flasher that costs $10 and functions perfectly.

Value is a decent measure of quality to cost. But plastic is generally used. When securing to the trailer, take care. as damage at the mounting holes is common.I believe the best way to attach is with gutter seam sealant or silicone sealer. And supports like screws were employed while the sealant dried. This makes installation simple. small and light in size?utilised on a 600 mile journey. N.P. I'm content so far!

To replace the taillights on a 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ, I purchased these (instead of the pricier "name-brand" kind). I'm quite happy... No installation instructions, but it's not too difficult to figure out. Particularly the brake lights and turn signals are really brilliant thanks to LEDs. Since they are not designed expressly for a Jeep Wrangler, the only drawback I can now think of in my situation is that rather than being on only one light, the license plate light that shines directly down from the tail light is really on BOTH lights (what would be the "driver" side). So, when both lights are on, a brilliant white running light that is always on shines down on the underside of both lights. At first, I considered taping one of them over, but now I kind really like it! At night, it gives my vintage Jeep a cool new "glow"!FYI, each tail light has a short wiring schematic on the back that explains what each color wire is (reverse, turn, etc)

On my utility trailer, I bought these to replace the light bar. They outperform the originals and are beautiful and bright. I'm not sure if trailer manufacturers purposely put cheap lights to save money or if they just want you to return the trailer to them for repairs so they can overcharge you for new lights. You can install these if you're a DIY enthusiast or if you know how to use a drill and screwdriver. As the ground is being established, be aware that the screws you insert are going into metal. If you don't have a really good set of rivets and gun, I wouldn't recommend using pop rivets. Although it is unknown how long they will last, at $10, why not? I won't be submerging or utilizing on a boat trailer, so my results should be better than those of the other reviewers who do.

$234
The only issue I have is that the tail light socket didn't want to fit in the slots exactly right, but I was able to make them work and am confident that they won't fall out. Other than that, they look good and feel sturdy, so I would recommend them if you're looking for new taillights. I priced factory original ones at about $70 per tail light before I found these and was sceptical, but they fit like a glove.
If your tail light assembly is broken, you can replace it yourself or take it to a mechanic. AutoZone does not replace tail light assemblies, but they do sell the parts needed to do the job.
To change a tail light assembly, you will need to open the trunk and remove the screws that hold the light in place. Once the screws are removed, you will need to disconnect the wiring harness and pull the light out. To install the new light, you will need to connect the wiring harness and screw the light into place.
If your tail lights are not working, the first thing you should do is check the bulbs to see if they are burned out. If they are, replace them with new bulbs. If the bulbs are not the problem, then check the fuse for the tail lights. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new fuse. If the fuse is not the problem, then the problem is likely with the wiring.
To remove a rear tail light assembly, first disconnect the negative battery cable. Next, remove the screws or bolts holding the assembly in place. Finally, pull the assembly away from the vehicle and disconnect the wiring harness.
Replacing a tail light assembly generally takes about 15 minutes. This can vary depending on the make and model of the vehicle. To replace the assembly, first remove the two bolts that secure the assembly to the vehicle. Next, disconnect the wiring harness and remove the assembly. To install the new assembly, reverse the steps.
