I used a syringe the last time I used a windshield repair kit, but I like this one because it provides pressure and injects the liquid. On my windshield, the chip was only a hole on the outside; the glass was inside shattered. I bought the Gliston Car Windshield Repair Kit to fix a nickel-sized bullseye damage to my Honda CRV windshield that was brought on by a little piece of road debris. I carefully read the instructions before seeing a YouTube video of a repair using a similar repair kit. The kit was simple to use and had decent construction (metal threads). I worked on the fix for about a half-hour, carefully following the directions.Since the damage on my car occurred right in the center of the windshield, it is quite challenging for me to reach it and precisely match it with the center. I also had to spend a few extra minutes removing them since I put too much resin under the film.I'm not sure if the repair actually stabilizes and seals the affected area to stop the harm from worsening. However, it does appear much better. Even though it is considerably smaller and less obvious, the bulls eyes are still very noticeable.Overall, it was successful for me, and I'm not dissatisfied, but I believe it's critical to have realistic expectations.

In comparison to other kits, this one includes 2.0 ml of resin. With the exception of the metal female threads on the base, the applicator is the same as the Rain-X brand that I have been using for years. The metal threads don't seem to hurt, but I'm not sure if they improve results either. The worst bullseye I've ever had was a deep 1.5" one, so I used it for the first time today. The outcome exceeded my expectations, and my poor windshield will now see another day. In order to reconstruct the removed portion, I had to apply resin four times. For the final three applications, just a few drops were used to fill in the hole that was then covered by the plastic piece. I frequently experience windshield damage because I travel a lot and live in a rural area of Tennessee. I'm certainly not a pro, but over the past ten years, I've successfully fixed roughly 40 bullseyes and cracks on a variety of automobiles. UV-cured resin must not be applied outside in the sun. Let someone at least hold the umbrella. The resin hardens rapidly, so unless it remains quite wet, it won't leak into the cracks. Read the instructions several times if you haven't previously fixed windshields. Make the most of your initial encounter because it will take some practice to get proficient at it. Remember that even experts can't repair most damage without making themselves at least slightly obvious. Some people put too much pressure on themselves. Some advice that may not be in the instructions: keep a lot of paper towels on hand. After finishing with the strips, wipe the excess resin off the windshield; this will save the need for a razor to clean up the spillage. Put on reusable gloves (best to not expose yourself to resins in general, although it washes off well). Cut the plastic sheets slightly larger than the repair to size. To prevent loss, store the plastic sheets and resin in separate Ziploc bags (resin can leak). After that, place everything in a gallon Ziploc bag.

And the finished product is almost flawlessly durable and aesthetically pleasing.However, if the incorrect person (like me) handles it, the result can be dismal. While using this kit, I've found two ways to destroy a windshield, the second of which should probably come with a warning.A 100W bulb (with a reflector) should be placed very close to the windshield before repair in order to pre-warm the glass and hasten the resin's curing process. The outcome? Small cracks might grow into large ones. It turns out that placing a heat source too close to a cracked windshield causes the cracks to expand and elongate significantly due to thermal stress from the light. Oops.The second way to break a windshield is to apply the seal and pedestal components of the kit too tightly to the damaged area. It turns out that pressing TOO hard results in — you guessed it — the fissures enlarging/lengthening. Users are encouraged to press them down and to establish a good seal. The outcome? In the blink of an eye, the 1-inch spider expands into four 6-inch cracks that extend in separate directions, necessitating the need for a new windshield. Sigh.However, if you avoid these threats, you stand a high chance of being extremely content with this repair kit. (Disclaimer: These before photographs are not the best representation of my photography abilities; despite my best efforts, I was unable to capture an after photo.)I used the mirror in my compact instead of the one in my kit because it was missing, and it worked just well. Without the mirror, I wouldn't have been able to see what I was doing, so I believe it to be of utmost importance. I utilized the blue light, followed the instructions for my star-shaped chip (on my brand-new windshield—rage), and even left it on for an extra few minutes to make sure. The product was decent and the instructions were simple to understand. The result is better than what the professional achieved last year when I had multiple star chips from a near-accident I was in because there is still a hairline fracture visible and I can feel a tiny *TINY* chip on the windshield. However, the hairline fracture is so faint that I was unable to photograph it. Overall, I'd say go for it, and I'm also purchasing windshield armor because it seems like the roads where I now reside are always dangerous.

worked remarkably well for less than $12. On my drive home from work the other day, I spotted a pea-sized chip. I got a price from a reputable glass repair company for over $140 to have them come to my house and fix my windshield (instead of $120 for me to go to them). I decided to try it after seeing that youtuber chrisfix used this material in a video and got some very decent results. I'm overjoyed with the outcomes! The directions are crystal clear and even include pictures as illustrations. It took me approximately an hour to finish because I took my time. With the provided plunger, the first stage essentially involves creating a vacuum for ten minutes. For this stage, I waited fifteen minutes to be sure no new air bubbles were forming (looked at the crack from the inside of the windshield). With the exception of performing the final step with the cure strip twice, I very much adhered to the directions exactly after finishing this task. The crack is now extremely difficult to discern and is only visible from specific angles, which is a night and day difference. According to the paperwork, this product won't totally get rid of the flaw, but it will stop the crack from spreading, which is exactly what I need. As long as you follow the directions (including the recommended operating temperature) and don't have a giant crack that is longer than the applicator, which is about 1.5 inches, you should be fine to go.

I am simultaneously overjoyed and furious. After using the product in accordance with the directions and viewing a few YouTube videos, I was unable to locate the starburst. It had vanished entirely. It was rather enormous at first, about the size of a quarter, with three spider legs emerging from the impact ding. Now all I can see is a pin-sized particle of dust that won't wash off, so I have to presume that's where the break was (and I had to use windex to clean every speck of dirt off). I hate having to buy a new windshield every time I get a crack and am too lazy to get it fixed before it spreads. Before I traded my Lexus in for this new vehicle, I had four total. The only reason I even attempted this was that the car was only two days old, I wasn't heading into the city until Saturday, and I didn't want it to completely crash before I could have it fixed. I had assumed that this would only be a temporary solution until I could see a doctor, but this medication was AMAZING! Just like magic! I am a 52-year-old lady who researches whatever home repair she undertakes using Google and YouTube, making me about as unexperienced as you can get. I'm placing an order for a backup to have on hand in case the next flying object hits my glass.

This kit works well; I've used it multiple times. The area around the chip that needs to be fixed must be free of "wax" if your window has been waxed (using RainX, for example). When the crack filler liquid cures in the sun, the "wax" somehow stops or significantly slows down the "drying." Drying takes a very long time. The actual crack fill may be fine. On remove the wax, apply Acetone to a paper towel. In my case, I cleaned the area around the chip before placing a small piece of masking tape (not Scotch tape because it can dissolve) over it. I then removed the tape and continued cleaning the chip region. You can see the wax removal marks on the window if you hold it up to the light.It goes without saying that you shouldn't wax your window if it has a chip that you might wish to fix later.I've waxed a window a few weeks after a repair was made, and it didn't seem to harm the fix.
