The GM plastic Heater Hose Connector seems to be of high quality. To compare the GM connector to two other heater hose connector brands, I bought it. Three years ago, I bought two Replacement brands, and one of them recently failed. When I took the O-rings off, I discovered plastic burring in the defective replacement brand. Only the machinery or moulds used to install the O-rings may have been the source of this. Additionally, the retaining plastic clip in the GM appears a little more flexible, which would suggest a longer lifespan. They are therefore reasonably close, aside from the burr, which was most likely the reason for failure. Had the GM part been purchased first, the inconvenience of a leaking hose would not have occurred.

High-quality goods. build seems to be superior to OEM. Since there were no obvious cracks or damage, I was unable to figure out why the original part would not stop leaking. I used this product in its place and it immediately halted the coolant leak. I've had it set up for a number of months now without any problems. rubber gasket was included. Unlike this product, which has a channel that perfectly fits the rubber gasket for simple installation, the original part did not appear to have one built in to hold the gasket, which could cause it to shift and leak.

When repairing Chevrolet heater hoses from the 1990s, these heater adapters are an absolute must. If you're lucky, the old one didn't come apart in the water pump or intake. You may either get a new pump and adapter if it breaks off in the water pump, or you can purchase the specific removal tool and cross your fingers. If it separates in your intake, the removal tool will decide what to do with you. You can simply switch to rubber hoses and get rid of the metal piece by using the adapters that are available, which replace the item with a conventional hose barb. However, I don't feel like tampering with the OEM lines on my rear heat equipped Suburban, so I am utilizing one of these with a new water pump. Make sure your adapter has the same restriction orifice as this piece, as they control flow through the heater cores, if you decide to go from one of these.If you take the time to look at one of them, you will see that once you understand how the clips come out, they are easy to extract and new ones truly do fit together in a flash.

It has a few O-rings within, which you can see in situ if you remove the white section of the object.Since I did not have the tool at the time, I had to remove the old ones "the hard way." So, this is what I accomplished without a tool.The two tubes were being pushed in my direction from outside the cab once I was inside and gained access to the heater core (dash removed). With the little foam cover/seal left off the way without being cut, I had to break the old fast connections with some pliers once I had them in my hands. Because the plastic was worn out, it was simple to do. However, it wouldn't be a bad idea if you bought the tool.As I mentioned, I had the old connections on my hands, so they could see what I was doing. This is the sole "benefit" of getting out of the cab. If you try to use the tool from outside the cab, you will find it difficult to maneuver it and you won't be able to see much of the results, so you might just fool around for a little while. This is okay if you haven't done this particular work before; nevertheless, this was the first time I performed it.Folks, please don't misunderstand me; they are rapid connects. However, they are not "rapid disconnects" because, in any case, they are not designed to be. If you have the necessary part, you can fix this in about five minutes if it fractures or splits. Every auto parts store around me offers this item via special order exclusively. Wait two to three days and pay significantly more than on Amazon, then never again. The stainless steel version I found cost $100.00. For a part that finally cracks from excessive heat stress, Amazon's price is fair.
