Ideal Fit Beautiful Finish Rock Strong, The other socket was supposed to be 36mm, but after using it on the axles the slop was huge; I measured it at 36.9 mm, not something you want to use to break 250-300 fl-lbs of static torque. I had bought a budget-priced socket because I figured I'd only use this once or twice in a lifetime for my daughter's Honda Accord Axles nuts.I ordered the Tekton socket right away. I've bought a lot of Tekton equipment, including three torque wrenches, multiple extensions, different wrench sets, accessories, and so on. All of them are excellent. I installed this on the axles nut while standing outside waiting for the UPS deliveryman, and it fit perfectly with no slop. Used a 1000 ft-lb impact cannon to remove stubborn axle nuts that had resisted 3 days of PB blaster spraying, 15 minutes of MAP gas heating, and even a 2 foot breaker bar with a 2 foot long pipe on it. The torque from my impact and the trapped axle nut were easily absorbed by this socket. In less than 40 seconds, I had both nuts removed.I won't ever care about a few pennies again, even if I only use a tool once. I'll remain with Tekton.

adore these I don't use an impact wrench; instead, I use regular sockets on a ratchet. Nevertheless, I prefer the non-chrome sockets over impact sockets because they have a slightly rougher texture. These are fantastic thus far. Large size markings that were laser etched are clearly marked. Case is thus quite useful. I've had those strips for socket storage over the years, but I didn't much like them. They all simply land face up in the drawer of my tool chest. These boxes made of orange plastic are ideal. I've been steadily purchasing one of these kits in SAE and Metric and in each drive (1/4 3/8 1/2), despite having EVERY socket size, both SAE and Metric, in chrome finish.The size marks are the key selling feature for me because they are huge laser etched and easy to store in these orange plastic boxes (as I get older, it gets harder to see the small markings on my previous sockets).Note that I haven't worked with anything that requires a lot of torque, such as head-gasket bolts, so I can't vouch for their durability. However, based on how they feel and appear, I believe they would be fine—especially given that they are rated for impact drivers.

In my garage, a loser friend kept his tools. He has a variety of MacTools and Snapon. He has a MacTools Air Impact pistol, but we discovered that he was missing good metric impact sockets. It happened when he showed up to mooch and utilize my garage when they arrived. He also grumbled about the wind outdoors and the lack of heat in my garage (Who replaces shocks in February!). It appears that he need my sockets because he quickly removed the subpar shocks from the front of his Dodge. If I had better tools, I wonder if he would complain. When he attempted to conceal the socket case in HIS tool box, he thought it was amusing.These were successful. On a woodsplitter assembly, I utilized them once again. 6pt, sturdy, and a good selection of sizes. I suggest these. I advise against letting someone keep their tools at your house (they use it as an excuse). You won't get these back, so don't let anyone borrow them.

The question of which material is better for impact sockets—vanadium or moly—has long been a topic of discussion. Well, both have advantages and disadvantages, and I'll do my best to discuss them for both. First things first, Cr-v, the material used to make these sockets, has a terrible reputation due to its use in Harbor Freight sockets. Any impact socket constructed of vanadium is regarded as bad since these sockets are notorious for cracking. False; there is a clear price difference between the two materials in terms of construction costs. However, one is not necessarily superior to the other. Let's discuss how the two vary and why they behave as they do.First, chrome vanadium, which is a metal that is utilized extensively in most hand tools, most notably in wrenches. This is the case for a number of reasons, starting with its extraordinary all-around strength. This metal is incredibly stiff. Due to the fact that it won't bend or deform when a bolt is torqued, it is excellent for use in tools like wrenches. It is cheap and relatively simple to create, in addition to having exceptionally stiff characteristics. Because it is still an excellent material, it can be used by even the most affordable tool manufacturers, and Snap-On utilizes it in its hand wratches. So what are the benefits and drawbacks? Pros..... Since it is quite rigid, as I already mentioned, it transfers the tool's impacting force very effectively when utilized with impacts. As a result, it is the perfect socket for use on rusted bolts. This is because trying to remove rusted nuts and bolts with straight torque can cause them to break. Impacting tools are employed, and they are highly effective in removing the nut and removing the rust. Therefore, because cr-v delivers maximal impact, it is effective for rusted sockets. Why then do some crack? It's because they are so stiff, I suppose. Because cr-v is a hard material, the thin structure of the harbor freight sockets cracks. I really like this set; these are not thin, they are thick, and I don't think they will fracture.Impact sockets almost entirely contain the material chrome moly. This is as a result of its impact application's durability. This is as a result of its perfect flex to stiffness ratio. To produce the unique type of torque that impacts produce, an impacting force must be applied. However, if they flex too much, hard materials like cr-v have a tendency to shatter, hence materials like cr-m are used. One drawback is that they are less adept at dealing with rusted nuts and bolts. Impacts are not conveyed as well because of this because of the flex. Therefore, these are a little bit harsher on rusted fasteners. Therefore, why are impact sockets that cost more typically built of cr-m. First off, making cr-m is more expensive than making cr-v. Additionally, cr-m typically outlasts cr-v in collisions. However, I don't believe you will encounter any issues with these sockets. I have never seen a set quite like this one. Some sets that cost $300 are not as comprehensive. I also suggested the possibility of cr-v cracking. They will not. They have a lifetime warranty and are extremely thick even if they do. (I've seen positive reviews of Tektons' customer service.) These are what I would advise for the occasional mechanic. These will be used for that in my garage at home. Mac and cr-m plugs are used in my office. So, in conclusion, I heartily endorse these. They are excellent in terms of quality, value, sets, packaging, and purchase. Purchase them; you won't regret it.

This collection of tools has no drawbacks. If I had to select something, it would be that the ratchet's black oxide had already worn off in some spots and that there was edge wear that looked like a faint outline all over it. However, it doesn't cause too much trouble and adds character to the ratchet. This is a high-quality heavy-duty set that is useful to have even if you don't need it for impact work because impact sockets must withstand the use of power tools, which makes them generally more durable. Compared to chrome, black looks much better.Even though a 1/2 drive is more than most people will require for the most of their needs, it's still nice to have one on hand. Smaller drive sizes are only necessary when working in cramped locations or with sockets that are considerably smaller. The ratchet is comfortable to hold and crank and has several teeth. You have almost all the socket sizes you'll ever require, and as long as you take care of it, this set should be the only set you ever need for the rest of your life. The case it comes in is sturdy, has rubber feet, securely locks shut, and is portable. Other items that use the same case can even be stacked and locked together so that you can carry them both with only one handle.Avoid using inexpensive tools. There are several sets available for half the price, but they are likely to degrade or break sooner rather than later. Purchase a set of good quality and durability so you just need to do it once.These devices were produced in Taiwan.

I appreciate Tekton impact sockets for three different reasons. Despite never breaking one, their warranty procedure is first-rate. All you have to do is send a picture, and depending on the time, it will be shipped to you the same day or the next day. This warranty is the best in its class. This also holds true for their after-warranty client service. You receive a response pretty quickly, in my experience usually within one business day.Second, these sockets can withstand some strain. You can work these sockets hard, however I don't want to use the phrase take abuse. The only issue I've ever had with these sockets was a broken extension that I was using. The socket itself showed no symptoms of severe deterioration or wear. A small amount of the coating has worn off, which is normal wear.The third type of socket is a combo one. These sockets are very reasonably priced, and sets rarely have size skips. Many brands cut costs by skipping less popular sizes, however Tekton maintains its low cost while still providing a complete set with no skips.I also have a small number of Blue-Point impact sockets, most of which cost more, along with Craftsman, Husky, ProValue, and other brands. For the reasons listed above alone, I would choose to utilize these Tekton connections over any other. I do have one complaint, though. Only the sockets have been laser-etched, engraved, or whatever. They should also have the stamped size markers, in my opinion. Because after contacting their assistance I learned that should the marking wear out, they will cover that under warranty, I have decided not to deduct any stars for this. That makes my worry go away to my benefit.

We all know what happens next after Amazon gave me one of those "Based on your purchase history, you may also be interested in..." emails.I've bought a lot of other Tekton tools in the past and have always been pleased with their quality.I enjoy sockets that have the sizes laser etched on the sides, so I must be getting old. The tiny, hardly legible stampings on the socket sides might occasionally be easier to read than getting a date with Olivia Wilde. These receptacles have etchings that are large and simple to read.The sockets are packaged in a really stylish casing. In contrast to my usual practice, I intend to keep this case.The 7mm socket did provide a challenge for me. The hole was wrongly machined (or punched, or whichever they manufacture sockets), and it was 10mm in diameter. The socket was obviously not good. I hate to say it, but if this socket had been born to a Spartan family, the wolf pack would have eaten the adorable little socket baby. Anyway, I went to the Tekton website and used their online warranty claim facility to submit my issue. Dave, the Tool Solutions Grand Master, swiftly contacted me and quickly had a replacement shipped out to me. It's excellent if you've ever wondered how wonderful their warranty and customer service are. I'm awestruck.Regarding the sockets themselves, I've already put them to good use on some front suspension repairs. You will be completely satisfied, so if you have any concerns regarding the durability and quality of this product, I can reassure you. I was a little hesitant about not spending a lot more money on a well-known brand name, but these have earned my whole trust. These worked flawlessly when I needed to remove rusted, jammed driveline bolts from a 50-year-old VW Beetle. I'm not a trained mechanic, but I do as much of my own car maintenance as time and occasionally money allow.This is a fantastic set all around. There is one minor problem that I've seen, but I think the wheels are more to blame for it than the tool. If you are driving with the smaller end of the socket and you happen to have aftermarket wheels with very little clearance around what is typically a reduced size lug, you may have difficulty getting the socket down into the wheel all the way. This will depend on the wheels and which size lugs they have. You might experience this if your wheels come with or need a thin wall deep socket (typically branded Gorilla).Otherwise, these function perfectly with typical wheels and adequate clearances.

Due to the unknown brand and the fact that it was on Amazon, where, let's face it, many low-grade equipment can be found, I was initially dubious about this, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. They have held up well while being used with the aircat impact gun, which is the best gun I have ever used. The reason I initially tried them was because they have every size in the correct order, which is very impossible to obtain from other high-quality manufacturers. I am happy that I purchased both the metric and SAE sets of them. Since I no longer work in a place where I would use these on a daily basis, I am unsure of how long they will last, but I still think they are great. I didn't believe I needed a case for my impact sockets, but now that I have one, I would not want to be without it. Oh, and having the case is amazing.
