I wish I had done my homework before making the purchase. My brother purchased the Thrustmaster TMX PRO a few weeks after I did, and it costs roughly the same as this or less. After using his wheel, I most certainly would have purchased that.Both wheels have the clutch pedal and conical brake mod for a more realistic braking feel, but neither wheel has a shifter. However, depending on your preferences, the mod can be easily installed or deleted on the TMX PRO. It is permanently installed on the Logitech and requires invasive removal, both of which cancel the warranty. Although it was a little too stiff at first, it has broken in and feels excellent now after around 30 hours of racing.Both wheels come with an optional shifter, but the Logitech model has four advantages over the Thrustmaster's: push-down reverse, a far quieter operation, a very short throw, and a significantly lower cost. The Thrustmaster one costs more than twice as much, but it feels better, is primarily constructed of metal, and is more difficult to inadvertently put in the incorrect gear. In order to convert the Thrustmaster into a sequential shifter, an additional gate plate is also included with it. This is fantastic for rally driving since using the paddle shifters might be challenging. However, it lacks the pleasant affirmative click that a sequential shifter should have and is quite mushy in sequential mode. Due to its poor feedback, if you're primarily seeking for a sequential shifter, I would advise against buying it. There are more superior solutions available.The 8 bit pedals on the Logitech have 256 distinct locations. This may seem like a lot, but the Thrustmaster 12 bit pedals with 4,096 distinct positions are considerably superior while driving F1 cars, when precision braking is required. However, the Logitech pedals look nicer and have better carpet traction.The G920 wheel is noticeably more attractive. The leather wrap and all-brushed aluminum construction look excellent and feel good in the hand. With some rubber grips at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions, the Thrustmaster is primarily made of plastic. It immediately feels cheap and appears cheap. However, it is approximately a quarter inch bigger than the Logitech, and I appreciate the tiny size bump.But for me, this is where the Thrustmaster steals the show. The force feedback is substantially improved when actually driving with it; it is more accurate and less notchy. Although I can't claim it is significantly superior to the Logitech, it is still better. The amazing accuracy feeling you get from the force feedback almost completely overshadows the cheapness of the plastic wheel.Having said that, the Logitech does have several advantages, such as superior appearance and general build quality. There are bolt holes for hard installation on the wheel base. it is really convenient when utilizing a stand. TMX PRO doesn't, though. However, the TMX PRO table mount functions effectively and appears to function just fine without the hard mount. However, when attached to your desk, it sticks out quite a bit and will obstruct your ability to pull out your keyboard. Dual soft mounts are used by the Logitech, and they don't stick down nearly as much. There are bolt holes for hard attachment on the pedal boxes and optional shifters for each wheel.Although I considered included this section because it is not based on my own experience, I ultimately chose to include it to aid readers in making an informed choice. I've read online that the TMX pro does indeed have a greater failure rate. So the Logitech is perhaps a better choice if you want something that will last for a long time. It doesn't feel as well as it might because of its outdated two motor gear force feedback mechanism, which dates back to the G27 wheel. Yet many G27 wheels are still in use today, demonstrating the system's viability. Just speculating, but I believe this may be the reason why Logitech decided against updating it given how dependable it has shown to be.

I like this wheel a lot. I've only ever owned one other racing wheel, a cheap first-party Xbox 360 wheel, to compare to the G29, but the G29 is far superior. The pedals are really beautiful, and it seems like it was manufactured nicely (the 3 pedal version). I've read a number of reviews about how difficult it was to depress the brake pedal and how many people actually took the brake pedal apart and adjusted it by removing a rubber piece. But I'm not exactly sure why. The brake pedal satisfied my needs perfectly. I have it anchored to a racing stand so it won't move, but if it were on the ground, I'm not sure if it would slide about or not. Nonetheless, I believe it would be okay. On the other hand, you should definitely alter some settings in whichever game you're playing because, in Gran Turismo Sport, I believe all the settings were initially set to the maximum, which almost made me dislike the wheel. The wheel feels fantastic even though I reduced the FFB to about 3 or 4, as well as another setting (forgot its name), and increased control sensitivity to 100%.

purchased alongside the wheel stand pro last week. I only use it with Forza 7 and Horizon 3 on an Xbox One X. eagerly anticipating Horizon 4. In both games' advanced menu settings, I would advise bringing down the steering radius from 900 to 360 if you intend to utilize them similarly. Prior to doing so, I wasn't really excited about the significant dead zone that immediately made me regret buying. It was stupid of me to overlook the fact that these gadgets require alterations to be correctly set up. It will take approximately 10 seconds in the menu to change the setting from 900 turn radius to 360, and then you are done. After making the update, my initial disappointment instantly disappeared, and I realized that I had been playing for five hours without realizing it. My time on my previous fastest laps with the controller (Xbox Elite) has significantly decreased after a few days of getting used to the wheel. I play with all assistance disabled and driver AI set to the second-hardest option. The only thing left to do is to retrain your brain to use the wheel's turn-in and brake locations.

I've had a lot of experience with race simulation games. My first wheel is this one. The most newest of things function with this wheel because I have an Xbox One and am using Forza 7 with it. If you have a floor without carpeting, all you need to do is make sure the rubber pads on the bottom of the pedals are clean and you'll be OK.The force feed back greatly enhances how fantastic the paddle shifts feel. It is feasible to make the minor adjustments needed to fix your race line by switching from the hand controller to this wheel. It was extremely annoying to want to make a small adjustment to load your line from the right side of the road to the left or the other way around, but you would have to make a jerky move that would slow you down, or you would just have to try to run the inside line and probably end up either braking excessively or going off.Simply put, this is far better. Sincerely speaking, the feedback is not as smooth as an automobile. But I'd continue to buy this one over and over again.It is simple to set up and take down, and it may be used to enter and exit games and to navigate inside them. absolutely incredibleBecause my xBox isn't directly in front of me, the only thing I would modify is making the USB cable longer. Great results! When I turn the wheel to the left, there is a small snag, however this is barely perceptible while playing. It works well with all of my devices, including my PC (in two separate modes), and I enjoy that. HID and X-Input) Games created for Windows after the Xbox 360 run best with the X-Input, while all other games—legacy or otherwise—perform admirably with HID. The English manual isn't on the website, so I've provided it for anyone who might have misplaced it. My only complaint is that I didn't spend the additional $40 to purchase the superior version of this from Subsonic, but to be honest, I'll probably wind up purchasing it anyhow and only having 2.Oh, and those foot pedals are smaller than you may imagine; you'll need to take off your shoes to use them since I couldn't identify which pedal I was pushing with my foot because they are so small. Everything was stabilized to my small desk using Velcro. Speaking of small, kids would really enjoy this. Seriously, the box that everything was packaged in couldn't have fit a basketball inside.Note that the wheel emulates the gamepad and, as a result, uses "smoothing" on the input to make it easier to use the gamepad to drive for people using Gran Turismo Sport. Gamepad driving sensitivity can be adjusted in the options while playing; be sure to set it to 7.

What a fantastic improvement. I truly like what this base provides to make the racing experience more realistic. It arrives in a box that has been nicely packed, and setting it up and placing it where you need it is not at all difficult. You may move forward after adding a steering wheel. The amount of realism you get from this base is fluid and modifiable through settings in the game and on the base itself, and I enjoy playing Forza 6 and am just starting started with a few other racing games.This foundation is a great addition to the ongoing collection of gear required to enjoy Forza 6 on the Xbox One S, in my opinion. It's fixed to a DIY adjustable mount that I manufactured out of wood and painted black; it works flawlessly for my purposes aside from a lovely racing simulator cockpit. While I am happy to utilize a gaming chair and watch television while seated in front of our 55" HDTV right now, I would want to have a cockpit that I could use while playing without having to set it up and take it down. This base is slick, and the flexibility to change the parameters makes it simple to get the force feedback and sensitivity you want. I'm by no means an expert, but I can tell when I'm using something that is made well and has a premium look and feel. Okay, so this review really only represents my initial thoughts. Later, I could change it up or down.Before anything further, a little background: I've been looking at wheel options for driving games, and notably Forza Horizon 2, for a while now, and I'm definitely interested by the significantly more expensive options.When I know I'll love something, I don't mind spending a lot of money on an excellent gaming item. As a point of comparison, I bought the ION drum set after noticing how much more I was drumming in Rock Band than I was playing any other instruments (and after already replacing the original drum kit).But even though I was fascinated in wheels, I wasn't sure if I'd be all that "wowed" by them. I've always been happy to use the conventional controllers when I'm driving.Having said that, even though $100 is undoubtedly not insignificant, I felt like it was a reasonable starting price for this kind of accessory.I knew going in that the performance of the wheel wouldn't be exactly the same, but I figured it would at least show me if I cared about playing the game with it enough to warrant upgrading at some time.So....Beyond the box:incredibly simple to set up It was slammed to a table and plugged in. It was instantly detected by the Xbox One and Forza, and I was almost ready to go. But that's almost not my first significant complaint about this controller. On my account, I've put up a passkey that requires the joystick or thumpad to be used to enter. The thumbpad on the steering wheel doubles as a "engine start" button in an attempt to be clever. It becomes almost unusable as a result and is tough to utilize. Before I had to turn on the standard controller to enter it, I made a number of unsuccessful attempts to use the passkey.In all honesty, I would rather have a pad that is easier to use than one with brilliant looks.The game being played:The ability to step on the gas and guide the car with a steering wheel undoubtedly gives the game a wonderful, tactile sensation.Additionally, it takes a lot longer to adjust. I discovered that it was VERY easy to be overly heavy with the gas with this controller, in contrast to how I have been accustomed to feathering the gas and brake as needed over years of regular controller-based driving. In the beginning, there was a lot of spinning out.I only had one issue with the wheel, and I thought it was quite responsive. However, that complaint is somewhat problematic. I discovered the center of the wheel has a little but noticeable "dead" place very quickly. This makes even minor steering adjustments very challenging. To earn some "near miss" points, are you trying to avoid an approaching vehicle? Good fortune. With this wheel, I frequently found myself either not moving the car left or right at all, or over-steering whenever I needed to make a small correction, whereas the thumb controller responded pretty much instantly.The closest way I can explain it is that it's a little like how some older automobiles have mushy steering.I can't stress this enough, but I didn't really expect flawless performance from a product that is, in essence, entry level. It's a peculiarity I have to get accustomed to. The mushy steering is probably just a characteristic of the bungee resistance system, and I would anticipate that the more expensive motor driven wheels would not experience this feeling of dead spots.At the risk of sounding unfavorable, I don't intend for this review to be that way. The only two issues I have so far are the odd thumbpad control and the tiny dead spot in the steering. Even so, I thought using the wheel was a lot of fun and that it gave the game a new dimension.I think this is a terrific product, and I'm not disappointed. For someone who is only a casual lover of driving games or someone who, like me, is unsure they'll actually get much out of a steering wheel accessory.

Let me start by saying that they are complaining about a lot of features that even wheels costing $300 do not have. like real-time feedbackWhere credit is due, I'll give it. People claimed that the pedals were overly supple and unreasonably flat on the ground. Hori corrected it. The cost was not increased. People criticized the wheel for being too simple to turn. Hori kept quiet. That was corrected.My ONE and ONLY criticism of this wheel is that it really wouldn't cost much more, and I would even pay an extra $20 for a wheel that was a few inches bigger. It does feel like I'm driving a go kart, but after only a few hours I've grown accustomed to it.You desire accurate steering feedback. Spend $700 because that is the amount at which you will cease griping about it. Apart from that With the updated model, Hori has addressed most issues, and at such a low cost, this wheel is just where it belongs. Not sure if you want to invest in a really pricey wheel? Use this as a beginning. After using it for a few weeks, I'm very sure I'll be upgrading to a more costly one by Christmas.
