My headline, I suppose, tells it all. You would think that the MOR/Ryde steps would be a fantastic substitute for the flip-down steps you had removed, but guess what? You can't access the box with the steps down. Read the install instructions on the MOR/ryde website very carefully. It turned out that my Jayco wasn't even quite comparable, so I had to disassemble the flip-down steps and hold the box with the original bracket. Considering the rivets, it took some time, but the issue was resolved. Perhaps the vacant space where your flip-downs once resided can be put to better use. Leaving the flip-down steps in place didn't make much sense either because they are hefty. Good luck, be creative, and exercise all of your patience.

I was astounded by the cost of replacement tool box mounts after visiting the Weatherguard website. They are constructed of steel and have started to rust. I needed to transfer the toolbox while I switched trucks. I simply couldn't see spending the requested amount to use the factory originals after having to remove the old mounts due to rust. Although the bolts are made of steel, these mounts are made of aluminum. Without any issues, I attached the box to the new truck. There are no problems, and everything is still OK after a month. These worked wonderfully and saved me money.

It took some time before I decided to eventually buy a utility box and went with this Dee ZEE trailer box. My 6' x 12' utility trailer has benefited greatly from having it. The criteria I've stated below correspond to what I wanted, required, and thought was significant:VALUE: I needed a secure container that wasn't too expensive. I acquired that using the DEE ZEE. It cost me just over $100, which I thought was fair considering its size.SIZE: A container that could accommodate tools and accessories but wasn't too big to significantly increase the trailer's total weight was required. This specific container, which measures L: 36" (Back); L: 18.25" (Front) x W: 18.75" x H: 18" and Vol: 6 cu.ft, worked out wonderfully.Installation is as simple as drilling 4 screws straight through the substrate of your object. I will note, however, that the head of one of the metal self-tapping screws they gave snapped off. It goes without saying that I had to tap it out and buy a new screw to replace the weak or defective one that was already there; this is why the rating is only 4.5 stars.DURABILITY: Since it is made of plastic or polyurethane, I won't have to worry about rust. However, we recently experienced our first cold snap in North Carolina, so it will be interesting to see how the plastic is affected by the icy weather. The locking hasp is made of stainless steel, making it rust- and corrosion-resistant. My tools and accessories inside are well-organized, but thus far they haven't damaged anything. Despite not being water-proof, it has managed to keep out water on wet days and when I've power cleaned it off. Additionally, it is actually quite lightweight for its size.Overall, the material it is made of and the fact that it can be locked were the main selling points. I'm really happy with my purchase, and I anticipate getting many, many years of use out of this well-made device. Well done. By Dee Zee

I like it overall, but it's far from flawless. Better and more practical than fixed-mount toolboxes is the swing-out functionality. Additionally, you need to be able to remove it to store things. I started with the passenger side because it covers the stock GM trailer receptacles; but, if the passenger side is successful, I may add the drivers side.Warnings: 1. You cannot transport sheet goods without removing them from the GM trucks (and possibly other brands as well), as there is not 48" of space between the swing cases if you use two. There is JUST ENOUGH space to carry sheet items with one installed.2. I'm concerned about the plastic's durability. The first one arrived from Amazon with a sizable fracture in it despite the manufacturing package being flawless, and it appears rather flimsy given that many people intend to put stuff like receivers and balls in it. To manage this, I would assume it would be structural foam, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, or something like.3. Since the same box is used for both long and short-bed trucks, a lot of empty space exists between the box and the wheel well in a long-bed truck. Also, the mechanism probably couldn't handle much more length, so perhaps this isn't a bad idea.4. Although the installation is simple, I detested the thought of using cheap self-tapping screws. It looks much nicer because I used stainless steel rivet nuts and stainless steel button-head screws (M6) instead, and if it ever needed to be removed, the stainless rivnuts could be painted to match the bed or bedliner with ease.5. The entire thing rattles and bangs with every bump because it is made of empty plastic. The mount and the box itself have a lot of give and flexibility, which causes the box to shake when empty and rattle when filled with objects if the material is not soft. To calm it down and lessen the thumping, I'm going to try bedliner inside.It's the best storage option in that location overall, but it could be much better.

This was purchased to replace a lock on a toolbox on a truck I recently purchased. The previous owners did not kindly leave the key. A cover piece and a bar were riveted into my toolbox above the locks and in between the latches. With that cover on, I couldn't get any tools in there to replace it, so I pulled it off, and the lock was fairly simple to change after that. A wise purchase that will keep my toolkit nice and secure.

In order to place a lightweight box on the back of our camper, I have been searching for one. Although I removed the spare tire and am only seeking to store our two patio mats and plastic leveling blocks, I am aware of how fragile the rear bumpers are. Over the winter, I'll get a BAL underslung tire mount. I'm just sick of storing that equipment wet in the trailer's front pass-through storage area.So, let's start with the negative.1) It comes in a solitary box. Three of the corners on mine were slightly bowed upon arrival.2) The latch is okay.3) The handles appear to be plated in poor chrome.4) Absence of any gasketThe positive1) Price2) Small size3) Price4) Lockable, at least sufficiently to keep honest individuals out.5) PriceI'm disappointed that black isn't an option for this box. In the future, let's hope the manufacturer does this. Probably after the camping season is through, I'll plastidip mine. As long as you're ready to drill a few holes, mounting is pretty simple. Although the lid does overlap the edges, it is at least water resistant even though it is not watertight. An excellent box overall in terms of value. Given that it can contain two 9 x 11 poly rv mats and two sets of Camco leveling blocks, it is the ideal solution for my needs. Anything close in size that I could locate in my neighborhood was easily twice as expensive as this box. It took a little over a week to get to me in New England because, if I remember correctly, it was delivered from California. This was about what I anticipated.

1 year reviewI purchased this because I wanted a tool box for my Tacoma's bed but did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on a metal tool box that would interfere with a bed cover or my aftermarket bed bars, as would all of the ones at the hardware stores. Additionally, I needed it to be deep enough to accommodate all of my belongings, and most of them in hardware stores were just moderately deep. I decided to try it after finding it.The box is made of plastic, but it has a pretty nice texture and seems like really sturdy material. Similar to a pelican case, but slightly slimmer. Even when loaded down, I have no problems with flex or cracks. I can actually sit on this without any issues. The texturizing, which is very comparable to rhinoliner or linex, would go extremely well with many bedliners that people have. There are no concerns with the lid hinges. The front's locking hinges are typical ones you can buy at a hardware store for crafts or outbuildings. Although they are made of metal, if you really wanted in, you could probably break them. Get high-quality padlocks and supply your own.The lid is quite strong and thick. The inside of the lid has a lip that, when the lid closes, sits under the overhang of the lid, preventing water from entering. I added some 3M weatherstripping to the lid so the lip would rest against it when closed even though I never had a problem with water getting inside this. Not necessary, but only as a precaution. Even now, it is fairly waterproof. Excellent argument for leaving outside, and in general, I believe it to be preferable to those metal toolboxes. even has molded-in hand grips on the side corners. After that, I'll refit it for my Tacoma.I choose the model with 6.3 cubic feet. Let me simply add that it fits my Tacoma's bed perfectly. In terms of width, it is excellent. In order to attach a bolt through the back and mount it to my rail system in the bed, I drilled four holes from the inner back. I was able to perfectly secure this to that rail by purchasing t-slot nuts designed for the Tacoma's rail system and bolting through from the inside.The height is almost ideal, but since I need to bolt it to my rails a little higher, I took two 2x4s and trimmed each one of them to around a foot in length. After that, I covered them with rubber matt I obtained from Home Depot. To raise the toolbox so that I could open the lid while fastened to the bed rails, I bolted 2x4s through the bottom of the toolbox. So, rather of hanging a few inches too short from the bottom and straining the plastic, the weight of the box rests on those 2x4s. It's now literally flawless.The only thing I don't like about this box is that the lid doesn't have a mechanism to keep it open. I am unable to open the lid all the way since it is attached to the bed of my truck. Perhaps additional struts might be added to it to aid in that. Overall, I think this is the greatest toolbox for these Tacomas. I'm overjoyed.

To store my RAW/BARF dog food, I required LARGE totes.My supplier required a device that could hold up to 70 pounds of weight at once. capable of withstanding temperatures in the freezer. It is manageable to move about and pick up.Every single bin was a total failure. They either failed to secure sufficiently. freezer temperatures caused cracking. Or it was unable to contain enough meat to complete the task.I'm not going to lie; I found these containers. I wasn't quite certain they would succeed. I tried them, though, and wow was I mistaken. They are flawless! every requirement for my butcher. simple to clean simple to disinfect able to power wash holds up well to cleaning/scrubbing with bleach. About two months into use, not a single item has cracked or broken.
