I thought I would submit correct information gained directly from RoadPro after reading all of the reviews online and become extremely perplexed by contradicting information: First off, RoadPro has NEVER offered a blanket with a 6.7-Amp low-Amp draw for sale (80.4W) Model # RPHB-110DB requires 4.6 Amp Low Amp Draw to power this blanket (55 Watts). The blanket is programmed to operate at a maximum temperature between 110 and 115 degrees Fahrenheit. As soon as you plug it in, it will start to heat. However, the amount of time needed to attain its highest temperature will vary depending on what is placed on top of it (like another blanket). It cannot be washed, but only for the reasons already mentioned (getting the wiring or plug wet). Evidently, if the material inside the blanket that holds the wires in place becomes wet with water, it will deteriorate and deform, leading to the wires shorting out and the blanket failing. The fact that this blanked DOES NOT HAVE AN AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF/TIMER was the final straw for me. It is ON if it is plugged in and receiving electricity. Therefore, if you neglect to unplug your cigarette lighter at night and it is not connected to your ignition... In the morning, you can wake up to a chilly blanket and a dead battery. While this blanket will allow you to sleep uninterrupted, if you want to take a lengthy nap or want one with a 30-45 minute timer, make sure your battery can sustain the power demand!

They advise against folding it due to heat concerns, but on a night in the 20s, it's never too hot. To provide warmth, I apply it on the back of the driver's seat. Very well done. We can power two of them with a single 12 volt outlet using only 3.8 A, or 45 W. I chose this Elantrip unit since it could be washed, but I haven't washed this blanket yet, so I can't say whether that poses any issues or not. According to the documentation, it ought should be fine. For laundry, the heat setting controller detaches from the blanket.

Well, the winter in Colorado is back. This tiny blanket was purchased for my mother, who is similarly young and tends to feel chilly. I was concerned that the blanket would be too large and cumbersome, but it fits exactly over her seat to warm up her car before she goes to the store. It also came in really excellent packaging. It's wonderful for her to have something warm to get into because the cold may sometimes be crippling to her. She doesn't have heated seats in her car, so this is a lot more cost-effective alternative to get the same effect. The material is comfortable and plush. It readily fits into your vehicle's lighter fixture and is not overly complicated. It is not at all heavy. That was simply an added plus for me because she likes plaid. Overall, I'd say that for the price, it's a terrific method to get warmth and be ready. I would feel better knowing that she had a warm blanket to wait with if her car broke down and she was waiting for AAA. It is unquestionably worthwhile to have your first aid kit at the back so that it is always available. To be the passenger that is consistently much cooler than my hubby, I'd like to get one for myself. The temperature settings in our car are a continual source of conflict. Perhaps this will be the next fantastic answer to marital pleasure.

Purchased a heated blanket for use while camping in the Southwest during the winter. Unless you enjoy self-immolation, you won't want a blanket that is hot to the touch. In essence, heated blankets let your body heat get a head start on becoming cozy by warming you just a little bit more than a non-heated blanket would. The timer is for your safety, which is both important and annoying. It is there for your benefit, but if you use it for winter camping like we do (ancient tent trailer equipped with 12v plugs, powered by solar and marine batteries), you can find yourself getting out of bed to press the reset button.We use it UNDER the sleeping bags (heat rising and all) and found that it performs admirably in temperatures of 30°( /-). We are now purchasing one for him because it worked so well that our Great Dane mix ended up taking over the bed. This will fit below two individuals of average size (but not two adults plus a large dog). In all likelihood, it will only adequately cover one average-sized person if you use it OVER yourself.Pros: *Warms up beautifully when draped across you in a car. *12v for camping / car. *Heats up well and retains temp longer when placed under your sleeping bag.*The value for the money is unbeatable.*Has two timer settings, similar to most heated travel blankets; *When reset twice or three times on a very cold night, there is no discernible drain on the battery.Con: *12v won't operate in a typical house plug. *It does include a timer, which is necessary and for your personal protection. (Adaptors are available; it is advised to simply purchase an EB standard plug for the home.)If such sort of thing worries you, the plain color is more expensive than the pattern.Try using an outlet from a different manufacturer if you notice that the plug won't stay put in your outlet for certain folks. On that topic, if it only receives electricity sometimes while properly positioned, acquire a new blanket because everything has a shelf life and occasionally breaks down. (Although we haven't experienced it with this blanket, if we did, I wouldn't think twice to replace or swap it.)*Although not the largest travel EB available, it is equivalent to others.We recently purchased another for the aforementioned purposes. Overnight lows in the high 20s didn't bother us; we only needed to hit the reset timer a couple of times more than when the temperature was in the mid 30s.
