This was one of three goods that were shipped to me, and by the time it reached at my place, it had been removed from its box. The bag with the related hardware was fortunate to still be there. No accidently breaking the plastic pulley!On my 1997 Vortec 5.7L 350, this A/C bypass pulley fitted up to the power steering/A/C compressor bracket nicely. With the pulley is a bag of mounting supplies: There are two sets of three 1.5" long bolts in two different sizes for a total of six bolts. For use with the smaller size bolts to ensure a good centered location once attached, hardware also includes bushing sleeves. With the 5.7L application, bushing sleeves are not required. Another option for positioning the pulley in relation to the other pulleys on your engine is to place a pulley spacer ring behind it.Overall, a fantastic product at a fantastic price!

My 1989 GMC K1500 5.7L freon air conditioner hasn't worked in decades. Fix implies complete replacement of everything, hence it is (and has long been 2-55 AC, roll down 2 windows and go 55). discarded the entire AC dead weight. The bypass was precisely aligned, but the mount plate needed to be ground to make room for the bypass pulley because it was thicker at the back. I prefer an aluminium pulley over a plastic one.

In the end, I chose to purchase a shorter 55-7/8" belt for my 2004 CR-V rather than shell out over $300 to have a shop deal with rusted bolts in order to install this, but this pulley still seems great. There is no play, wobble, or grinding in the pulley, and the base looks beautiful (runs smooth as you could want). Since some reviewers seem to believe that this isn't good enough, I feel compelled to bring it up. If only getting a shorter belt were quicker and less expensive, I would have used this product without hesitation.

There are many sets of fasteners and pulley spacers. The accompanying bolts were inappropriate for my application, so I had to use one of the spacers to move the pulley "out" so that it would align with the belt. The pulley had grown in size from the original, necessitating a longer belt. I had to ream out the threaded mounts and install the old compressor bolts (they are sold in about 1/2" increments). The HD-6 compressor will be replaced by this, but "engineering" may be necessary.

I perused a few of the product evaluations. My experience: I fitted this pulley using the shorter sleeves that were provided, but I soon discovered that it was out of alignment with the other pulleys. The one shiny metal washer in the group caught my attention. I took out the pulley wheel itself, put this washer—which, as it turns out, is a spacer—onto the spindle, and then put it back in. she was fired up. Everything is good but the squeaking I was trying to hide from. Okay, I hit the belt tensioner and took the belt off once more. I once more removed the pulley wheel. I used a sharp knife to remove the bearing seals and lubricated every moving part of the object, including the balls. reinstalled the belt after reinstalling the pulley (with washers for the bolts). she was fired up. Still making noise. Okay, I made the decision to ride this out and put 15-20 miles on my grease job. This stopped the rattling and squeaking.
