With our APEC 5-stage reverse osmosis system, we have been quite happy. Pure water has just been a short distance from the sink for the past year. No more hauling 5 gallon tanks around or bringing expensive cases in from the car. It's so simple that you almost don't even notice it's there! Since we installed it, the water still tastes fantastic.The manual specifies that Stages 1, 2, and 3 should be replaced every 6 to 12 months. The Stage 4 reverse osmosis membrane, the most crucial component of the entire system, is put in danger by waiting longer. So I only spent 10 minutes replacing them after a year. The original documentation comes with instructions, but if you've misplaced them since the initial installation, you may call the APEC customer care number and they'll walk you through it.The fact that the earlier filters were unpleasant only serves to highlight their efficiency. I've attached a photo of the old ones as soon as I took them out. I suppose there's a lot of rust in our water! There will be water up to the top of each reservoir, so it's a good idea to lay down a towel before removing. One piece of advice from someone who has done this is to replace each one individually. This prevents the entire structure from toppling (as long as any two are on it will balance).Because of how well these three filters remove pollutants, I will give them a rating of 5 stars. In our home, these filters perform admirably. I couldn't be happier with my decision to buy these filters together with the Culligan HF-360A filtering system. Installing it wasn't that difficult. Initially, water shot everywhere because, like some other reviewers, I didn't place the blue tubing into the filter mount firmly enough. It started working after I exerted greater force and tightened the supply tubing.I'm purifying Florida well water that tastes a little bit of metal. When I tasted the water from this filter side by side with well water that had not been filtered, I almost puked from the unfiltered water's metallic taste. I tasted the water from this filter and the Filltrete water filter in my refrigerator side by side, and they taste the same.Because of the aging pipes in my home, the total pressure is lower than with municipal water. Without the filter, I filled a gallon jug from the faucet in 50 seconds. The gallon jug filled in 50 seconds after installation. A week after installation, it takes 58 seconds to fill a gallon jug. If time shows that my poor water quality forces me to replace this filter too frequently, I'll update my review.My setup is seen in the photo that is given. The substantial hole in the cabinet and plaster was created when the house was last plumbed, more than 30 years ago, and is unrelated to the setting up of this filter. I had just installed a new faucet and changed the supply lines. I was able to install the filter at the front of the cabinet, simplifying future filter replacement, thanks to the odd arrangement of the lines on the side of the cabinet. Excuse the vinyl flooring that was installed at the bottom of a kitchen cabinet by the previous owner. Derp.

On a GXSL55F undersink filter system that was about 8 years old, these replaced GE FQSLF filters.Since FQSLF filters are no longer produced, I thought about using some of the off-brand filters that Amazon sells, but they only appear to meet NSF/ANSI 42 standards, which, according to the NSF website, are "the minimum requirements for the certification of POU/POE filtration systems designed to reduce specific aesthetic or non-health related contaminants."The FQSVF filters are certified to meet NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 standards, according to the instruction sheet that came with them. The NSF website states that the 53 standard "establishes the minimum requirements for the certification of POU/POE filtration systems designed to reduce specific health-related contaminants, such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, lead, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), and MTBE (methyl tertiary-butyl ether) that may be Therefore, despite the higher price compared to the less expensive filters, these were the better option for me.Installing these was simple because they twist in similarly to FQSLF filters. The system was quite noisy for the first few minutes after running the water to flush out any air, but that problem was resolved by very gently tapping the filters and unit to release any trapped air. So far, there have been no leaks, the water flow appears to be satisfactory, and the water is clear and tasteless. Knowing that my filter system is compatible with the FQSVF filters and that I won't need to replace it, yay! I'd repurchase them, but I'll look elsewhere first: It appears that Amazon's $71.99 list price for these filters is false because when I looked them up on the GE website (as of 9-26-17), the price was listed at $45.99.

These filters perform admirably when they do. Three of the four solutions were successful. One didn't filter the water, so I had to keep taking it out. Every time I needed to fill the water reservoir, I had to take it out and shake it. After a week, I threw it away. Now, when it functions, it functions GREAT. I live in Philadelphia, where the water tastes slightly metallic and has a very strong chlorine stench. The chlorine taste and smell are effectively eliminated by this filter. After being purified by PUR, the water tastes so pure and energizing. I've used PUR for years and will keep using it even if I occasionally have to throw out a filter because the product works and works well (when it works).
