I just got the 4 lb today, and the 10 lb and 12 lb are on the way. I'm using these medicine balls into my clients' exercise routines! I nearly bought the Amazon Basics med ball, but I decided against it for two reasons. 1. The ball has "Amazon Basics" written on it (no hard feelings, I love Amazon, different branding might have sold me) 2. The diamond/marble grip, no slip, and combination. I am ecstatic with my choice to work with Dynapro. I now use med balls that exactly like the Amazon Basics, so when I took the Dynapro med ball out of the box, I fell in love with the grip. I own a physical therapy practice, and a fellow therapist recommended Day 1 Fitness to me (plus the good pricing, ow ow!). I purchased a few items for the practice. Compared to the other medicine balls we had, I really prefer this one. My favorite feature is the dual texture. It is incredibly easy to hold because to the black pattern's fingertip-sized dimples (like those on a golf ball) and the colorful portion's tiny bumps (like those on a basketball). I primarily purchased this 10-pound medicine ball to play catch with my son. 55 years old and 5' 8" tall ", 168 pounds, and bench six times at 150 pounds. My son, who is 13 and 5' 6," "135 pounds, and bench 10 times at 70 pounds. The medicine ball is a bit too heavy for my son and a bit too light for me as we play catch and toss it back and forth about 12 times each. But it's okay since my son can still manage that 10 lb weight, even though it's a little heavier than ideal. He can also grow into it, and on top of that, he can throw the weight against the wall on his own. I see it as a wonderful warm-up for me. Additionally, I now possess a real slam ball that I can use to independently slam against concrete. I chose a 20-pound slam ball, which is probably a little heavier than I can physically handle but would still allow me to perform some powerful slams and "grow" into it.The lacing, which all of these wall balls and medicine balls have as far as I can tell, is one aspect of them that I don't enjoy. They are worthless to me because I personally don't try to grasp it like a football or feel for it. But what's worse is that because the ball coming towards you is not a light football, the laces have a tendency to dig into your hands as you catch it, which is annoying! Even the seams where the stitching joins can be a pain, especially if they protrude outward like the lacing on this wall ball/medicine ball.

It's really durable, and I've just used it once. The grip isn't at all overly harsh, in my opinion. Perhaps you can feel the sand shifting in the other 10" balls, but not in the 20 pound ball, which is the maximum weight allowed for a 10" ball. If it explodes in a few months, I'll understand the cost, but as it stands, it's a fantastic deal.

These are far more enjoyable to use than dumbbells and are much better for exercise. When I throw and catch objects with my fingers, I am exercising them. I can also take my fingers for walks to exercise them even more. One is on my desk at work that I can throw when I get antsy, and one is at home. A serious lifter would definitely laugh at these. The two larger sizes of this soft weighted ball were previously acquired from stores, but the 6 pound size was not available, so I went looking for it. When I was able to locate it, I was delighted. The ball is made of smooth rubber, yet because of the type of rubber it is, it is easy to hold while exercising. Since they are soft, as described, if you accidentally let go of one, there won't likely be any harm done.
