It worked and behaved in the same way as my Hoppes bore snake, and it did so admirably. I purchased a handful of them in various calibers since the price was too good to pass up. After a day at the range, all of the cleaners worked admirably, and I had a number of clean barrels at my disposal in no time. The procedure is straightforward: I put a small amount of Hoppes # 9 on the bristle portion, feed the snake in by inserting the thin brass end first, pull the entire cleaner through, then repeat the process one or two more times. I observed that sometimes it can be challenging to draw the snake through, but I think that is just the nature of these cleaners because the Hoppes brand snake I own is no easier to pull through. Overall, I am really happy with this purchase and would suggest it to anyone who has never used a bore snake or who has a variety of calibers they want to obtain snakes in without spending a lot of money.

To clean 12 gauge hunting rifles, I purchased this.You are truly missing out if you haven't tried a BoreSnake. The rope-patch portion and brush combo work so well together. They may be cleaned and used again.These are highly suggested in all of the calibers you frequently shoot. It simplifies cleaning.You just need to drop the tiny weight on the end of the black string through the barrel's throat and grab it as it leaves the muzzle if you're curious how it works (put it in back by the trigger and pull it out where the shot comes out). The brush will then enter the barrel when you just pull on the black cord, followed by the soft rope. I was a little concerned about how strong this black cord would be, but I can pull it with no problems. You have created the equivalent of one brush and patch pass-through if you pull it all the way through. You should be almost done if you repeat that process several times and then apply a fresh patch. The Hoppe's No. 9 Powder Solvent, 5 Ounce Clam E/F, should not be forgotten.

Change the game! I need to color-code and store my bore snakes in Tupperware because I have so many of them. It is difficult to keep them apart and deploy them. These are far superior, and they don't take up much room in your BOB. Just the size of a hockey puck, it is small enough to fit in any range bag. Despite its diminutive size, it is formidable. It includes a built-in handle that makes it easy to draw through your barrel without getting your hands dirty and combines the functions of a bore snake and a bore brush. The flip away storage concept, which is incredibly simple to install and store, is the actual game changer. Because of its portability and convenience of use, I used to be a major admirer of the Remington Squeeg-e system, but I now exclusively carry these!The only drawback I can think of is the requirement for a unit for each caliber you own. After we switched to a larger version for the shotgun, I purchased this for the AR. It maintains the bore clean and is much simpler to use than a segmented or solid rod. Compared to the shotgun version, it takes a lot more force to pull through, but the bottle cap it comes in has a convenient fitting that allows it to be used as a pull handle. It is equally as simple to clean as the shotgun version. It may be simply placed in an old pillowcase, tied shut, and washed. Obviously, you should double-check that your cleaning supplies are safe for the washing machine, but many are these days. Even though I still keep a segmented rod in my range bag, I only really use it for cleaning when I get stuck cases or the like.

I previously owned a few typical Hoppe's BoreSnakes in 12 and 20 gauge. They have a huge fan in me! I would strongly suggest a boresnake because they are a *huge* improvement than patches and brushes. The weight occasionally coming off the feed string was the only issue I had with the first BoreSnake. On some firearms, you must also exercise caution to prevent snagging and pulling of the original BoreSnake cloth as it feeds into the barrel.To get the most out of the new model and to have a second (always clean) BoreSnake, I purchased the new BoreSnake *Viper*. I discovered that the Viper's addition of a tapered cone between the feed string and cleaning cloth does lessen the likelihood of a snag, but some caution is still needed to avoid snagging when the fabric length feeds into the barrel. I believe that the larger orange end on the Viper, which is used to administer oil, helps the new model function even better than the previous BoreSnake. VERDICT: I endorse this product. In fact, I've already bought and given away two more as gifts.By the way, the directions that came with mine were not very strong. I drop the weighted feed string through the barrel, walk on it, and lift the barrel after applying Hoppe's No. 9 cleaner down to the brushes and oil to the orange end. works quickly and effectively! I occasionally first run a brush through the barrel if it is extremely unclean or if I did not clean it quickly enough (I know, a sin).

BoreSnakes are really effective, however you should be aware of potential fakes being advertised on Amazon and shipped from China. Pictures of the 9mm,.380, and.357 cal. BoreSnake are attached (s). The sports goods store where the one with the white tag was bought was a big-box nearby. The other was sent to me from China through Amazon. variances in length and the presence or absence of etching on the brass weight. Most likely still functional, but who wants a (possibly) fake?

I appreciate not having to conduct a thorough cleaning after each round I fire when we are at the range. After four shots, you probably won't be firing another bullet down the barrel until it has been cleaned, as most black powder shooters are aware. I simply drag the snake on my inline gun down the barrel and out the breach a few times, and it is shing and ready to shoot again (it just won't fit). Before someone asserts that a pistol must be completely cleaned, This is fantastic to empty the barrel for additional shooting at the range, which I shall do once my day is through.

Wow, a Viper costs $6. I'll take 3, please! The best are these. Among other brands, I have ripcords. The best are these. When they are first pulled, they must be done slowly, but after the first or second time, they go through more easily. Additionally, I should apply some protectant to the extreme end so that it damages the barrel. Then you apply a cleaning on the first copper bristle. Sincerly, after just two pulls, my bore has a beautiful oily coating on it and shines like new! incredibly simple to clean. And it performs better than a patch or brush that is nearly never short of copper fouling or something similar... fantastic stuff In each calibe I possess, I get one or two. Mine was bought for a 6.5mm creed! You can choose between the 7mm (.277") and 25 cal (.257") sizes. Although 257 is closer, the.277 that I have works. My first pull was tight, but after that it worked perfectly. I like it a little bit bigger since the added pressure really gets in the grooves. These items, which retail for $20 in stores, are only $6 online, so you really can't go wrong! I was at least 270 one.
