When I used to sell power equipment, I never ventured into the electric or battery-powered equipment market. To be honest, I was hesitant to utilise these things. Some brands, I'd heard, were extremely excellent. I chose Ego Brand for everything after some reading. I use a push mower to mow an acre or so every week, as well as trim, edge, and blow the hedges. uses three batteries and works. I had originally intended to purchase this a few weeks ago, but I postponed because of some unfavorable reviews, particularly one that suggested a Jameson over a Silky. Professional-grade modular pruners like the Jameson received positive reviews. I decided to buy an 18' Jameson FG series since the reviewer's justification made sense to me. Although the Jameson is incredibly heavy and difficult to maneuver when fully extended with a lopper or saw head, the craftsmanship and quality are of the highest caliber. The saw blade was also not very effective at cutting. Due to the blade's excessive flexibility and thinness, it twists and buckles as it saws. After getting cut with the Jameson a few times, I decided to return it and instead get the Silky. When completely extended, the Silky is noticeably lighter and a lot simpler to move around. My home is surrounded by a number of oak, elm, and hickory trees, all of which the Silky saw blade easily cut through. Excellent construction ensures that this is a well-made tool. I find it difficult to understand the unfavorable reviews now that I have had an opportunity to use and see it firsthand, especially when it comes to quality and durability. Despite the fact that I don't have much experience with tree pruners, I have used Fiskars, Jameson, and now Silky, and there is just no comparison. This is the one if you want a great tool and don't mind spending a little more money.

I read numerous reviews of a variety of various brands and models but was debating skipping out on what some professionals were also purchasing because it would cost a few dollars more. And I was aware that there were other models available for two times as much. I had no desire to become a professional, but because I have fast-growing pine trees, I needed something dependable that I could rely on for years to come. Well, when I used it for the first time, I was very happy. As much as other reviewers appreciated it being well-built but not unduly hefty, I could manage its weight. In less than an hour, I was able to make a number of significant cuts. I spent more time cleaning up the yard and hauling the branches away than I did actually cutting them! Cutting a 2 inch branch took around 30 seconds. I had a few branches that were 4 to 5 inches long that took a few minutes, but fewer than 5. I am 65 years old, and I want instruments that seem to last me through retirement without requiring a lot of upkeep or fear about failure. That is what this is, and more. I didn't have to hire somebody, which literally saved me several hundred bucks.

In a nutshell, it worked perfectly to quickly clear some heavy, dense bush from the woods and around the home.I placed my order for this item in June 2019 to address a branch that was obstructing my front porch and upstairs window. It goes without saying that it handled that extremely easily. Fast-forward until October or November, when hunting season officially begins. A few stands needed to be set up, while another needed some long overdue maintenance. We allocated ourselves the full weekend because we knew going in that it would be a lot of work and didn't think one day would be enough to finish it all. To keep a long tale short, by the early afternoon of the first day, we had managed to set up all 3 stands and cut shooting lanes for all 4 stands.The only real drawbacks I noticed were: 1) the price. Although it is acceptable, I wish new blades were less expensive. In addition, you must be careful with the cutting angle. I had to make several attempts to bend the blade back into a "straight" line when it evaded me while fully extended.Overall, I'm really pleased with my purchase, and the people that helped me that day were as well as they had already made one for themselves.

Without a doubt, this pole saw is long enough. This saw handled trimming five extremely tall oak trees that were down the slope in front of my house pretty well. On green branches, the saw blade is quite aggressive. Even branches up to 6" thick fell off without difficulty. That was made much easier by the blade's curvature and the hook at the end. The blade is quite adaptable. As the branch is being chopped, I repeatedly got the blade pinched, and in an effort to free it, I severely bent the blade. I was certain that the handle was going to break. But that didn't happen, and after being moved, the blade quickly returned to its former form. I once stretched the pole to around 80% of its maximum length. At that length, it become heavy and cumbersome. But one would anticipate that. The two squishy yellow grips on the handle are the only drawback I found. They are too thin and rip to pieces after only a short period of use. But even without them, the saw works just fine.

I opened the pole saw's box, started cutting, and was amazed at how well-made and sharp it was. According to the estimation of a nearby landscape company, I had a tidy pile of limbs down within 30 minutes, and it had already paid for itself. Because of the saw's excellent design and non-binding blade, cutting is actually accomplished by the weight of the handle on the blade. Let the blade do the work and don't rush! You can remove minor branches that are hanging from the tree using the hook on the pole. It's a fantastic tool, and I would definitely purchase another one.

Overall, I was satisfied with the product and found it to be very helpful for my applications, although there are a few minor changes you should make:- You'll need to swap out the rope for one that is considerably longer.- The pulley is weak and loose, but the cutting blade is outstanding. It will eventually require replacement.The spring is flimsy. You'll have to swap it out for a better one.

As a hunter, I wanted to trim a few branches near my hunting location. My tree stands are typically placed 16 to 20 feet above the ground. I did not buy the saw combination for any other purpose. For this application, I believe the saw performed a great job. The main problem is that cutting becomes tougher the higher you extend the saw. In light of it, it was effective up to a height of 16 to 20 feet. I gave up on a 3 inch branch after trying one branch with the pole completely extended just to see if it would work. However, based on my prior encounters with tall branches and other saws, I kind of anticipated this. Therefore, if you want to use this saw to chop branches that are higher than 20 feet, I recommend looking at a better saw; however, if you only plan to cut branches that are under 20 feet, go for it. I think it's fantastic so far, and I hope it lasts for a while.

It's a useful pruning tool. The pruning blade and tool perform extremely well, the pole is shaped nicely, it extends a few feet higher than my previous pole saw, and the supplied saw blade is great. The locking mechanism to lengthen the pole is convenient and simple to operate, but it doesn't entirely secure the pole in place, which is one of the only negatives. My previous pole saw lasted for 24 years of heavy use. Despite being locked, the pole's upper portion continues to wobble a few centimeters. The sawing action isn't greatly affected by this, but it would be preferable if it were fixed in place completely rather than having a tiny bit of play.You need to unscrew one or both of the screws on the black collar at the top of the main pole if you're having trouble removing the extension, as some customers have reported in the product listing questions and reviews. The extension will be able to move more easily as a result. Additionally, it is much simpler if the saw blade is removed before utilizing the pruning blade (the component controlled by pulling the cord). When you're ready to use the saw, it only takes a minute to take the saw blade off and a minute to put it back on. Simply complete all of your pruning-blade job before beginning the sawing. Remember that even though a fully extended pole enables you to reach higher than a shorter pole, it might be challenging to control. I'm content overall with this pole saw.
