The only drawback, if any, is that the wood top is soft, making it more susceptible to damage over time (scratches, dings, and dents) (example: if you push fingernail against the top grain it can easily indent the surface so if you place anything on this, such as a pasta sauce jar from groceries, it can dent the top of the wood).But generally, I think a solid wood dining room table that seats 4 or 1 or 2 comfortably is a fantastic value and doesn't make the flat look too small because of the desk. The wood color is lovely as well, so I would suggest this and would think about purchasing it once more in the future or for friends or relatives who could require a beautiful little dining room table on a budget for their home.Additional remarks: Retro furniture is nice since robot vacuums fit right under it (navigate around it)I was won over by Zinus's sturdy metal bedframes, and this dining room table didn't let me down either.

Excellent wood; very happy. Good performance and sturdy construction. Excellent stain and polish on the cherry top, as well as excellent paint on the pedestal (I went with a black pedestal and cherry top table). "Made in Vietnam" is marked on the underside. The assembly is simple, but the small wrench tool that comes with it is a little awkward to use because the bolts that attach and tighten the pedestal feet are inside the pedestal base. Have pinch pliers or regular pliers on hand to tighten the bolts; do not over tighten. Also, be sure to insert the wooden bars into the sockets with the finger holes facing the floor so that they hold the table leaves in place for the full-size table. Before you put the two small plastic stops into the table top, since if you don't, you won't be able to insert the wooden bars into the sockets. Don't be alarmed if you don't have any assembly instructions; I located them inside the pedestal base. This is not mentioned in them. They ought to be there. Two boxes—one for the pedestal and feet and the other for the top—come with the table. Both of them are very well packaged with foam boards, so there should be no shipping damage. Before using the table, I strongly advise applying a coat of Howard FW0016 Feed-N-Wax Wood Polish and Conditioner, Beeswax

In person, Table exceeded expectations. Very durable and undoubtedly made to last. It arrives in two sizable boxes: one for the table top and one for the base. Very good packaging—almost too good! For the next two weeks, I'll be cutting up cardboard and foam. Once completed, I'd have to say that the table weights roughly 150 pounds. Simply place the top on the base and insert the four bolts from below to complete assembly. Neoprene rubber surface covers the full bottom of the base. Although the table is effectively prevented from sliding, you are still able to move it without endangering hardwood floors or other surfaces. Our kitchen nook looks fantastic with this. As though it were created for it!

This evaluation applies to the entire set. This table is very great for the price, and if you can obtain one without any flaws and treat it well, it could easily pass for a $300–$350 table. Ashley Furniture, on the other hand, has bad customer service and subpar Quality Control.Despite what you may have heard, there is no guarantee on this table. Ashley defers to the resellers when it comes to warranties for online purchases. Even if you recently bought the table and the original leg was warped, they won't even offer to send you a replacement. All transactions must go through the reseller (who may or may not exist when you need warranty support). Ashley will accept payment for replacement parts. Even investing in new parts, though, carries some risk...As an example of Ashley's poor quality control, here are the two sets of chairs I purchased for this set:1: I had to get a new set of chairs since the first ones I received had warped screw holes (see picture)2: One pair had a stain that was a little bit darker than the other set (see picture). Additionally, the wood for the chair's leg grooves wasn't consistently routed amongst the chairs (see comparison).3: Two sets of the front legs had distinct routing styles; one set had chamfered routing while the other set had round and smooth routing. (See image)4: One set of chairs had a completed underside, but the other set did not (picture).5: The chair legs' bottoms were sometimes painted and other times they weren't (see picture).Although none of these issues are deal-breakers, I can't help but be shocked by how poor their quality control is as a manufacturing engineer. This table is fantastic and precisely sized for my studio space. Despite the fact that I am picky, I adore everything about this table. The table was expertly packed during transport, preventing any damage. Despite the fact that it required two persons or more to assemble, one person found it to be really simple. I rarely assemble things like this, but it took me 30 minutes. The table does not appear to be heavy or substantial. I heartily endorse it.

I don't believe I can express how happy I am with this table enough. It has a lovely appearance and is the ideal size for my compact room. However, the assembly process will be difficult. Although I don't think they are the best, people often complain about the instructions, but I don't believe it to be the issue. Getting those X metal pieces in the correct order is a little difficult. Finesse and then some hard work are also required. Having said that, it took me 30 minutes to put it together even though I weigh 140 pounds. I believe the effort was worthwhile given the outcome. Every day, I'd pick difficult to construct over expensive.

For a light-duty cafe table, good value. With just a fingertip of effort, it can be tipped over extremely simply. The post is joined to the table top, but it is not bolted or otherwise secured; it just rests in the base. It is incredibly light. I purchased it specifically for "hanging out and chatting with the cook, or drinking coffee and playing on the tablet" in the kitchen. I would NOT suggest using this for eating (lest someone move wrong and send all the dishes and cups careening to the floor). Particle board is on top, with a metal base and pole. timely delivery and safely packaged.

I'm VERY amazed with the stability of this table considering the cost. I'd liken the quality to Ikea's, but at an even lower price and perhaps with some added benefits. Before purchasing this one, I also looked at the tables there. I calculated the diameter to make sure four plates could fit without difficulty, and they did with cups. In the centre of the table, you wouldn't have enough space for platters of food or dishes, but this is ideal for filling up your plate before you sit down. The inclusion of a side table in the description made me uneasy; perhaps in a larger home where there is room, but I advise bringing out a tape measure and setting your dishes down to get a sense of size.Since the table is smaller than the ones shown, I chose chairs without arms since I thought they would appear too thick. Simple and compact design appears the most balanced.Although there was a review with a video of two people building, I plopped down on the floor with my pregnant belly on and put it together in under an hour while watching TV. The black bars are arranged in an up-and-down pattern, and I used the bolts to keep one bar in place while I added the next one. Once they were all attached to a leg, I tightened the bolts. I first attached the legs with the screws to the anchors, and then I fastened the anchors/legs to the table. I'm not really "handy," but it wasn't tough.
If you don't have a dining room table, you can use a coffee table, an end table, a kitchen island, or a bar.
