I got this so I could leave spring, summer, and fall fresh water for the wildlife. I leave it on my property just within the trees so that my hose can still get to it. I particularly appreciate how flexible it is since it gives the top edge a cushioned sensation. I can't tell whether something is dirty, which is the only reason I can't give it five stars. So I regularly clean it. It is utilized well by numerous animals and birds. I even placed a sizable flat rock in the center for the birds to have a cozy perch. I'll buy more to spread out throughout the land. Animals need assistance finding water, especially in densely populated regions. Years ago, when it was the middle of winter and everything was frozen, I saw two foxes searching for water. The male fox repeatedly sprang onto the ice-covered lake. He was attempting to raise any unfrozen water to the surface, I realized. His partner sobbed while crouching next to the icy water and watching him attempt to fetch her some water. I now provide lots of water for the animals, including electric bowls during the winter that prevent the water from freezing, because it hurt my heart. I think this is a fantastic product and strongly suggest it. Even the nearby cats come over for a drink!

I've been using this net every day for the past three months, and even with two horses and a donkey, it's holding up really well. I find it much easier to work with than bags where the cinching cord is made of the same material and color as the bag, so I really like that the cord that cinches the bag tight is actually a white poly rope of some kind. They are eating less and I have obviously used less hay. Even though they now have access to hay around-the-clock, I believe my obese daughters may have lost a few pounds. I'd without a doubt suggest this hay net.

Our hay bags get a lot of use because we have two horses. They are in use both day and night. In the past, we've used Tough 1 brand, but we've discovered that they wear out so quickly, and the top cinch string breaks nearly instantly, needing to be replaced with hay string, which, strangely enough, lasts far longer than the original. The initial ones we bought from the Tough 1 brand a few years ago were alright, but the more recent ones simply don't last. The Weaver leather hay bag, in comparison, is doing admirably. Instead of the flimsy kind Tough 1 employs, it has a thick rope cinch at the top. If I could, I would give it 100 stars. I adore it over all else! This hay net is fantastic. They are soft but robust, with the ideal size holes to not aggravate the horse while still allowing the horse to eat more leisurely, therefore I purchased 4 of them. These nets are also a favourite of my horse, who is over 24 years old. He was OK eating from the nylon hay nets I had before these (which had the same size holes), but when I put up one of these next to the nylon, he immediately went for this net! more cosy to feed from and gentler on his gums. It's fine, and in terms of rabbits and guinea pigs, I believe it would be ideal. I might use it as a backup, but given that it's made of plastic and that I have a chinchilla, I don't anticipate using it frequently because I don't want her to ingest the plastic and cause trouble for herself (my fault for not considering the plastic issue when I purchased this, though). When considering the possibility of little animals' fingers getting trapped there if they pull a large quantity of hay out at once, the spring-loaded clamp is also somewhat unsettling. Even though the spring loaded mechanism isn't particularly powerful, I could see how some sensitive fingertips would be caught.I eventually came across a ceramic hay feeder that is ideal for constant chinchilla use. But as I already mentioned, this would likely be fantastic for rabbits and guinea pigs.Additionally, critter nations do not work with this. Or a cage with narrow horizontal bar spacing of 1/2 inch. The attachment cannot swivel unless you want to tilt the entire hay rack sideways because it is designed to fit on vertical bars only (which defeats the purpose of the small hay catching space at the bottom).

Which is acceptable for the trailer or to temporarily be attached to the trailerFor lengthier feeds, the larger one has significantly more capacity.My 4-year-old, who is notoriously destructive, hasn't gotten tangled in it or ruined it yet. She has only touched it, prodded it, and consumed from it.Because of how tiny the openings are, she cannot fit her foot through them.It's pretty slick and slippery to tie it with the rope. Hopefully it will hold up better as it becomes more soiled.
