I really like this item! Due to routine frontline applications, my dog has never had fleas, but because of his extremely thin coat and peach fuzz covering his chest and stomach, flies, mosquitoes, and knats are TERRIFYING! When there are other dogs present, he is frequently the lone one getting bitten by flies, mosquitoes, and who knows what else. He is continuously covered in large lumps from fly bites. Advantix didn't work as advertised at repelling biting flies, and my dog was quite scratchy for a week after using it. Even though he does not have fleas, he scrapes like he does (had groomer and trainer check him). My trainer suggested this item because she claims to never use pesticides on her dogs. I just put a bottle in my hiking backpack because I need to reapply it frequently, especially if he swims in a lake. My dog was the only one of the dogs we took on the hike who didn't have a tick on him! He typically acquires ticks earliest among the dogs (and with a very thin light brown coat they are very easy to spot). If you already have fleas, good luck getting rid of them since no matter what you do, prevention is always better than treatment. No matter what they say, I will continue to put Frontline on my dog during the summer months (8 or 9 out of the 12; I don't care how cold it gets). My aim is to solely treat the dog so that the cats won't need to be treated because I have four indoor cats at home. Therefore, I cannot take the chance of even one flea entering my home, but this is an excellent supplemental treatment for flies, ticks, and mosquitoes.Oh, and it has vitamin E, so my dog's coat appears healthier and glossier, and there are no longer any small bald spots where flies used to attack him. I looked everywhere for a flea shampoo I liked, but none come close to this one. Despite the fact that my cats detest showers, I have never seen them happier than after the relief it brought them was all said and done. I bought this item with the Safari Fle Comb, and I'll never use another flea treatment again (besides their monthly medications of course).While kids were still having baths, this shampoo physically caused fleas to die and fall off into the tub water. The flea comb is my recommendation because, even though it kills 98% of fleas on contact (when used as instructed), sometimes the dead fleas get tangled in the user's fur. Use the shampoo on them, leaving it on for 4-5 minutes to kill bothersome fleas, then rinse (and repeat if necessary), pat them dry with a towel, and if they'll let you blow dry them, I'd also recommend that you do so. Use a flea comb to remove any residual dead fleas that are still stuck in the fur after they are not entirely wet, and once they are completely dry, check them again for any sneaky fleas. Pay great attention to the face, neck, ears, and tail's base in particular. They typically hide in these places since cats find it more difficult to clean them (and you shouldn't use shampoo on your face to prevent getting it in your eyes).

I've finally discovered the greatest flea treatment for my cat. Even though I knew that all of the insecticides were killing her, the fleas were making both her and I crazy. I know that fleas can travel on you if you feed stray animals outside, but I have no idea how fleas got inside my house without a dog, even when I applied topical flea treatment on her. Never in her life has my cat spent a single day outside. Since the topical wasn't working for her, I've been searching for alternatives. After trying this medication on Amazon, I ordered the entire range because it really works. Now, I'm not claiming that I don't have any more fleas; I do, but I use a flea comb on her every day and find a few of them. Despite this, she isn't scratching maniacally, she has put on weight, and her fur is once again wonderful. The effects weren't really the product's fault, earning it four stars. It doesn't smell horrible, but its perfume persisted for a very long time and was stronger than that of other shampoos. It took weeks for my cats to be able to tolerate one other again after their wash after one of them began hissing and rejecting the other cat due to the aroma. The fleas didn't seem to have changed, but I believe they required something more potent.
