Halti Head Collar Review:

For my 37 lb Aussie/Sheltie mix, I got a size 2.Due to tracheal injury, he cannot be walked while wearing a collar (and collars are not generally the safest way to walk dogs). He despises being led by a harness and will retreat if I remove the majority of them.He like being walked on his Halti, though. When it's time to leave, he eagerly presses his nose into it. He doesn't have a lot of pulling power, but he walks on the Halti with grace and decency. Because it offers for more security by fastening the halti to the collar, I chose it over the alternatives. The Halti is not made more resistant by this; only safe.I introduced the Halti to him in three stages:1. Only fasten the neck strap; leave the nose loop unfastened. For a couple of days, simply walk him normally while wearing a harness.2. Apply the nose loop and fasten the neck strap. Maintain the leash's connection to the harness. After allowing him to wear the nose loop for a short while, take it off. Work your way up to having him wear the nose loop for the full walk (without a leash connected) over the course of a couple of days.3. Switch between utilizing the Halti and the traditional walking technique for a few minutes while using the leash attached to the device. Advance to using the Halti for the entire walk over the course of two to three days.Although there are numerous approaches that work equally well, this one worked incredibly well with my dog.I'm pleased with the collar snap's additional safety and the Halti's durability. This is crucial for me because my dog's long, narrow nose has helped him to escape head collars in the past. People with slim-nosed breeds should keep this in mind. When we walk, it does get a little bit slobbery because he can pant in it, but it quickly dries. He doesn't seem to be losing hair on his nose, but he does like a thorough snout massage after each stroll. The Halti isn't magic if your dog is just a crazy walker in general; even with one of these, your dog still requires leash manners training to avoid accidents and freak outs. It's a great option, though, for dogs who despise harnesses and owners who stay away from collars.

PetSafe Gentle Leader Headcollar, No-Pull Dog Collar Review:

I would rate this with 10 stars if I could. We have a three-year-old, 80-pound golden retriever. Due to his pulling, we have always had a difficult time walking him. He would make it difficult for me to walk him and drag my wife around with him. I watched some YouTube tutorials on how to train him using a gentle leader and did as they said. After two quick training sessions, he was comfortable wearing it. Now that I always have it out, he approaches me, sits down, and puts his face forward so that I may place it on him. He literally follows me when I'm walking without any pulling. He appears to be a different dog. Get this right now if your dog pulls excessively on a standard leash. You won't be let down!!

PetSafe Gentle Leader Headcollar, No-Pull Dog Collar Review:

I purchase everything from Amazon, excluding food. I've never written a review, either. This device, in my opinion, has the potential to change people's lives. I've had this headcollar for exactly one week at this point. I looked at a number of videos to get the proper match. The fitting is crucial because if it is not fitted as tightly as recommended, it will not function as well. To use it on walks, I had to wait two days. All that was necessary was to get her acclimated to having it on as she ate each meal and to shower her with treats. A strap over their face won't be appealing to dogs. However, you can train them to accept the headcollar as a sign that they are allowed to go outside. My one-year-old pit bull used to enjoy daily three-mile walks, but due to her severe pulling, I stopped walking her and started taking her to the dog park in the car. The final straw was when I took her trekking and was unable to take in the surroundings because of how much pulling she was doing for five kilometres in a row. My boyfriend's dog, who pulls horribly too, did well with the soft leader. I tried it out by taking him on a stroll, and it was fantastic. One for my dog was ordered right away. After using it for about five minutes, I knew it was a blessing. I like to compare walking my dog while wearing the gentle leader to walking on a cloud. My dog just floats around, but you can tell there is a cloud because there is occasionally a slight tension from a shift in direction. You have the impression of leading a show dog or something. Purchase this headcollar if you hate taking your dog for a walk. To balance my weight against her pulling, I used to have to wrap the leash around my forearm, under my armpit, and over my shoulder. Now I can text with one hand while holding a coffee in the other and walking her with my pinky finger. Although he owns one too, my brother doesn't like it since "the dog wasn't trained to stop pulling when it wasn't on." This item simply makes it much simpler to spend time with your dog rather than replacing training. My best purchase of the year. Simply buy it. The leash has a little bit of slack, as you can see in the video, but you don't want too much because the dog could step over it and become tangled since it hangs from under the chin. This is the first time I've ever walked my dog with a loose leash. The fabric stretches when it is first used. So, after using it for walks a few days later, readjust it for the ideal, long-lasting fit.

PetSafe Gentle Leader Headcollar, No-Pull Dog Collar Review:

I buy everything except groceries off amazon. I have also never left a review. I think this product is lifechanging enough to warrant a review. I have now had this headcollar for exactly a week. I watched multiple videos on it to get the fitting right. The fitting is important- it will not work as effectively if not fitted tightly as suggested. I waited two days to use it on hikes. Just getting her used to it keeping it on while she ate all meals and gave her loads of treats. Dogs won't like a strap across their face. But you can teach them that the headcollar means they get to go out and they don't dislike it. I have a one year old pit bull and I had stopped walking her (she used to get 3 mile walks every day) in favor of driving her to the dog park bc her pulling was so severe. The last straw was when I went her hiking and couldn't appreciate the surroundings bc she was pulling so much for five kilometers straight. My bfs dog, likewise a terrible puller, had luck with the gentle leader. I took him for a walk to test it out and it was fantastic. I quickly ordered one for my dog. Within five mins of using it I could tell it was a godsend. I like to say that walking my dog with the gentle leader on is like walking a cloud. You know the cloud is there bc of the occasional light strain from direction change but generally my dog just floats around. It feels like you're strolling a show dog or something. If you don't enjoy walking your dog, buy this headcollar. I used to have to wrap the leash over my forearm and then under my armpit and over my shoulder to leverage my weight against her pulling. Now I can stroll her with my pinky finger while carrying a coffee with the same hand and texting with the other hand. My brother also owns this device but doesn't like it since "it didn't learn the dog not to pull when it's not on". This device is not designed to replace training, it only makes it a lot simpler to enjoy time with your dog. Best money I've spent this year. Just buy it. As you can see from the video, there is slight slack in the leash (you won't want too much slack because the dog can walk over it and become caught bc it hangs from under the chin). This is the first time I've ever had slack in a leash when walking my dog. Also, the material stretches when brand new. So readjust a few days later after using for walks for the optimum, permanent fit.

Halti Head Collar Review:

We have a purebred male German Shepherd who weighs 120 pounds. He is significantly bigger than most of his breed but is by no means overweight. He loves to chase birds and squirrels, which is why we have trouble taking him for walks. When he becomes enthusiastic and wants to chase something while out on a walk, a head collar offers us greater control and directs his focus back to walking. Our dog will always need a head collar because it is so much easier to handle him this way than trying to stop him from chasing anything with just his collar, even though the Halti is meant to be a temporary training aid. He has been the subject of our long-term use of a Gentle Leader, and it appears to be very effective. My fiance adores how easy it is to use and how much control it gives us over our easily excited dog. I was interested in testing out the Halti head collar against our Gentle Leader after learning about it recently. We chose the huge Halti because of his size (by breed Halti recommends a medium).Leader, please Cons: The thin, unpadded straps leave a noticeable mark on my dog's snout that isn't painful for him but bothers me nonetheless. He occasionally rubs his head on the ground to remove the nose piece (same with Halti). When he pulls against my will, the snout strap is quite close to his eyes (I would say more so than the Halti).Pros of a kind leader: greater control. has a variety of colors. The clasp that adjusts the snout piece cannot be moved by our dog.Halti Cons: Our dog can open his mouth extremely wide and move the clip that goes under his chin to modify the snout piece. Even while I believe this is simply a result of the fact that for him to drink and pant comfortably, the cup must be all the way down, Halti still needs to address this. This clip requires strengthening. Additionally, he may remove the snout piece by rubbing his head against the ground (same with a Gentle Leader too though). The benefits of Halti greatly outweigh its drawbacks and its shortcomings, in my opinion. Being 5'1" and not significantly heavier than my dog, the additional neck strap and backup collar clip provide me greater control and security. It does not leave a mark like the Gentle Leader and has a lot larger, padded snout strap that I believe is probably more pleasant for my dog. I also enjoy the movable parts that join the head strap and snout strap. Additionally, they provide support, control, and help keep the snout strap away from his eyes (however, if he's acting crazy and tries to chase something, the strap still comes close to his eyes; the Gentle Leader accomplishes the same thing).Being smaller and simpler than I am, I believe my fiance would like the gentle leader, but he is also bigger and stronger than I am to be able to govern our dog. If our dog decides to attempt to chase something while we're out walking, I believe the Halti gives me greater control and requires less work for me to feel confident and in charge. This is the longest product review I have ever written, but with a large breed dog who is very active, it is difficult to find excellent items and good reviews to guide me in choosing the finest things for my dog. So I really hope this can assist someone else!
