For conferences, I provide technical support. Sometimes a presenter will arrive with a computer that does not have a VGA port, and other times the conference room projector will only have a VGA port. There is agitation and searching in vain for a solution as a result. The answer is this HDMI to VGA adaptor. I'm removing the HDMI wire from the cable box, separating it, and connecting one of the outputs to one of my desk-mounted computer monitors using a Benfei HDMI to VGA Adapter. I may watch the news or play music from my cable box while working in this fashion. The HD looks fantastic on the Dell 24 and the picture quality is amazing "monitor. For my desktop PC last year, I bought a brand-new "Ultra" monitor, but despite months of tinkering, I was unable to get it to function properly. PC featured USB, HDMI, and VGA outputs. Disappointed that the BIOS did not appear when the HDMI connection was first made. Even the most thorough web searches turned up several instances of the identical, unsolved issue. My old (not smart) TV's HDMI ports quit functioning. We just use our Fire stick for streaming because we don't have cable. Unfortunately, in order to utilize the Fire stick, you must have HDMI ports. On a Dell Optiplex, I had a second VGA port for a monitor. The other port was DP, and it functions flawlessly. needed a cheap second monitor when the first one broke. With an older Benq LCD projector, I can show lessons for schools and churches as well as conduct professional workshops. It's a terrific projector, but it only works with an older monitor cable; it lacks an HDMI port. Fortunately, I have a newer laptop that can use an HDMI cable instead. Use this cable to connect a monitor with only an HDMI or DP input to a computer's VGA output. One monitor was already using the computer's only DP output when this was requested for a twin monitor setup. So utilizing this cable, I was able to use the VGA output. I first plugged the adapter into the computer, then I plugged the HDMI into the adapter and then into the monitor. That was unsuccessful. In addition to what I had already done, it worked perfectly after I connected the provided USB cable, one end to the adapter, and the other to the computer (not the monitor) (shown in pics). The only problem was adjusting the monitor's settings to improve the clarity of the image. Overall, this cable performed to my exact specifications. Both displays are functioning independently (in extended mode).
