I work as a gardener for a living. As soon as it cools, the tips of my fingers begin to fracture. I use this at night before going to sleep with cotton gloves (it is a salve, so I can't rub it in completely), and in the morning the crack is gone or at least doesn't ache that day. Okay, good day. This week, I've been plagued by a cold. I had sinus congestion that was so acute that it caused my head to pound for days. I'm taking this medication because the lymph nodes in my neck are so swollen that I can hardly move it. I did some research to find a cure for this nonsense—I'm talking bodily aches, fever, painful throat from drainage, and general misery—and discovered studies for golden seal and astralagus, a supplement. I rarely take the prescription my doctor prescribes because, aside from the fact that it's typically useless and overpriced, I despise doctors. Lol. In any case, the prices for these two supplements were rather fair (the astralagus I purchased was from a separate company called Herb Pharm). I literally ripped the packaging open like a crazed dog as soon as it arrived in the mail since I was so desperate for anything to work. I immediately took them both. The taste wasn't spectacular in my opinion (but what did you expect from pumpkin juice?!). Okay, eight hours later, three pills later, and I'm already eighty percent better. The fact that I have in the past struggled with colds for weeks and this stuff exists like dang is like WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE. I waited to write my review until I had used 80% of my bottle, and now that I have, I will most definitely be getting another. I was 27 years old when I was given the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and PCOS in 2015. I don't know where to start with this stuff because I'm so surprised by it. Let's start with the things I struggled with most: high blood sugar (post meal usually > 200, fasting > 150), being overweight (I was 214 when I started taking berberine), and Nicaraguan acanthosis (darkening of the skin in areas like the neck and creases; I'm African American, so it gets really dark). I'm thrilled to report that my outcomes have been outstanding. My post-meal blood sugar is typically around 120-130, my weight is down to 206, and the main issue for me was the ancanthosis because that is one of the main signs your body isn't using insulin properly. Additionally, my neck has lightened significantly. My fasting blood sugar has been 89-100, occasionally 115-120 if I've eaten something I had no business eating at night or throughout the day (which is also a boost of confidence). I didn't check my cholesterol, but my study suggests that it is also positively impacted. Especially after a meal, I feel energised and less tired and confused. I literally got fast food for lunch one day, and I didn't feel heavy or hazy as you do when your blood sugar spikes dangerously high and quickly. Last but not least, I suffer with combo IBS and can't recall the last time I had restroom problems. As long as my diet isn't ridiculous, I'm normal. I'm not sure if berberine is to blame for that, but I'm sure it had something to do with it. I'm very glad I made this choice because, despite seeing the medications diabetics take every day while working as a pharmacy technician for years, I refused to start the trip. I took metformin and thought to myself, "This can't be life." With this program, I am now incorporating exercise and a healthy diet, and I can't wait to see what happens.
