For my lower retainer and nocturnal grinding guard, I use cleaning tablets. Usually, I buy Efferdent, especially when it's on sale or comes in an economy package, but today, I noticed I'd run out just as I was ordering something else from Amazon. I searched for "Efferdent" to see if I could throw some in with my order, but Polident was more affordable.Even though I have a pretty open mind, it made me think twice.I had never bought an effervescing tablet that was honest about living a non-monogamous lifestyle before.Where did these tablets go around the world? Where would they have been prior to coming into contact with my dental devices? club swagger? crowded hot tubs? When it came, you know, my turn, would they still be able to fizz?If I didn't feel the urge to see other sodium bicarbonates, would people think I was odd or "prudish"?I gambled on the Polident, and I'm delighted to report that the fizzy disks function just well and that their dating preferences haven't been a problem at all. They are responsible and focused on cleaning my braces, and I have learnt my lesson about being slower to judge individuals based on my own preconceived beliefs.

I use this product to maintain the mouth guard that stops me from nighttime teeth grinding, which wears down my teeth. As instructed by my dentist, I tried using an ordinary brush to clean my mouthguard, but the foul stench persisted. I further used a denture brush. That performed slightly better than a typical toothbrush but was still insufficient. Then I tried efferdent. Even though I followed the directions, my guard was still up. However, I saw online that others claimed their mouth guards worked better if they let them soak in the efferdent all day. Success! After soaking, I've discovered that the guard needs to be thoroughly rinsed to remove the efferdent smell. I would choose unscented. Otherwise, soaking all day long is quite effective. However, all-day soaking is inconvenient for wearing my mouth guard in the middle of the day for a nap, and it is also inconvenient for travel. If it operated as quickly as the instructions indicate, that would be preferable.

I've been applying the previous formula. But as my supplies were running low, I returned to Amazon and was shocked to read about the new recipe and all the reviews that were critical of it.I purchased a different brand that temporarily used the previous formula. However, I discovered subsequently that sodium perborate, a significant component of the previous formulation, may be carcinogenic and has actually been outlawed in the EU. According to the revised formula, it was eliminated.I therefore made the decision to gamble with the new formula. What's this? None of the unfavorable reviews were accurate, and the new formula cleaned my retainers at least as effectively as the old one did.Two images that clearly display the component list for both the old and new formulae are attached. (In fact, you may have seen that the unfavorable reviews with images do not at all properly display the ingredient list.)The previous formula is shown in the first image (2015 DENTSPLY), while the new formula is shown in the second image (2018 Dentsply Sirona). The following are the main modifications to the previous formula:1. Substitution of sodium percarbonate for sodium perborate. Both of these are oxidizing substances with the same cleaning power as detergents like Oxiclean. However, this is a suitable alternative as sodium perborate may be carcinogenic.2. Elimination of the water softeners tetrasodium etidronate (EDTA) and pentasodium triphosphate.3. The addition of citric acid, which softens water and promotes effervescence.Tetraacetylethylenediamine (TAED), a more strong oxidizing agent than sodium percarbonate, is added as step four. It is an effective decontaminant against fungi, viruses, and bacteria. There is no doubt that the new formula produces a superior product. It was said in a review that the main component of the new formula, as opposed to the old formula, which contained potassium persulfate, is sodium bicarbonate. Both component lists include potassium persulfate and sodium bicarbonate. Check the list of ingredients to see for yourself. No one was misled by the manufacturer; the reviewer was.Although I do not know the motivations behind these unfavorable reviews, I have a suspicion that they were recruited to harm the reputation of this product in order to promote the old, probably cancer-causing retainer washing tablets sold by another company.Don't pay attention to those unfavorable evaluations, please.

This item absolutely fulfills its purpose, making it a 5-star item in that sense. I've noticed that the pre-measured powder tubes are sufficient for a complete cleaning of your mouth guard. One thing to be aware of is that there are definitely "fumes" from the powder that will go directly up your nose (they did in my case), causing me to cough a little. This happens if you cut the tube awkwardly or pour the powder out too rapidly. I discovered that I could prevent "fume" problems by cutting the tube at an angle and carefully pouring the powder into a glass while holding it at an angle. Just have your wits about you when you pour the powder into a glass (or whatever container you're using to soak your guard). It's a fantastic product, it works, and they've metered it adequately.
When you soak dentures, it is best to use lukewarm water. Soaking in hot water can cause the dentures to warp. Soaking in cold water will not effectively clean the dentures.
There are a few ways to keep dentures in place without adhesive. One way is to use a denture retainer, which is a small, plastic device that snaps over the denture and helps to keep it in place. Another way is to use a denture reline kit, which is a kit that helps to create a custom fit for your denture. Finally, you can use a denture adhesive, which is a sticky substance that you apply to the denture to help keep it in place.
You can make a homemade denture cleaner by mixing one part water with one part vinegar. Soak your dentures in the mixture for about 30 minutes, then brush them with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
It is generally not recommended to leave dentures in water for more than 30 minutes. This is because doing so can cause the dentures to warp and become misshapen. Additionally, leaving dentures in water for too long can lead to the growth of bacteria, which can be harmful to your oral health.
The answer to how many hours a day you should wear your dentures really depends on your individual situation. Some people can wear their dentures all day without any problems, while others may need to take them out at night to give their gums a break. Ultimately, it’s up to you to experiment and see what works best for you. If you’re having trouble adjusting to wearing dentures, talk to your dentist about ways to make the transition easier.
It is important to clean your dentures every day to remove plaque and food debris. You should also soak your dentures overnight to keep them moist and to prevent them from drying out.
