Can losing weight cure sleep apnea?

Losing weight can help to cure sleep apnea. This is because being overweight or obese is one of the main risk factors for developing sleep apnea. When you are overweight, there is extra tissue in the throat which can block the airway and cause breathing difficulties. Losing weight will help to reduce this tissue and open up the airway, making it easier to breathe and reducing the risk of sleep apnea.

Can my job fire me for having sleep apnea?

There is no definitive answer to this question as it depends on a variety of factors, including your company's policies and your state's laws. However, in general, your employer cannot fire you solely for having sleep apnea. If your sleep apnea is causing problems at work, such as excessive absenteeism or falling asleep on the job, your employer may take action against you for those specific issues. However, if you are able to manage your sleep apnea and it is not impacting your job performance, your employer cannot legally fire you for having the condition.

Can you work if you have sleep apnea?

Sleep apnea is a serious condition that can have a major impact on your ability to work. If you have sleep apnea, you may find it difficult to stay awake during the day, and you may have trouble concentrating or remembering things. You may also be at risk for accidents or mistakes at work. If you have sleep apnea, it is important to talk to your doctor about your symptoms and your treatment options. There are a number of treatments for sleep apnea, and your doctor can help you find the one that is right for you. With treatment, you can improve your symptoms

Do I need to change the water in my CPAP daily?

It's important to keep the water in your CPAP clean and free of bacteria. Depending on how often you use your CPAP, you may need to change the water daily, weekly, or monthly. If you're not sure how often to change the water, check with your CPAP manufacturer or healthcare provider.

ResMed AirTouch F20 Cushion (Medium) Review:

I adore the mask. I've tried four different mask configurations. I paid for everything myself. I would have to wait six months or pay for a new mask if I wanted to try it because insurance will only cover one. I finally started to get some sleep and was having some success when I tried this silicone mask. When I made the decision to test memory foam, my success significantly improved. This mask has really improved and pleased my therapy. Try this mask if you are having problems with others because sometimes I wouldn't even know it was on if it weren't for the d$

ResMed Climate Line Air Heated Tube for ResMed AirSense 10 & AirCurve 10, 37296 Review:

I needed a heated hose because I was having a moisture problem. I had to return the first hose since it was damaged when it arrived, so I purchased a new. When I connected the replacement hose and it started working as it should, I stopped getting rained out. Since I prefer the chilly air when sleeping, moisture in the hose was a problem. I used to fill the humidifier tank with gasoline every three days using a non-heated hose, but I now fill it every day. I took away 1 star since it has a faint fresh vinyl molding scent when I first put it on, however it goes away after a few breaths and is barely perceptible. I'm hoping that after a few weeks of airing out, the odor will go gone.

Cartridge Carbon Filter Kit for SoClean 2, CPAP Filter Replacement Includes 4 Cartridge Filters and 4 Check Valve (4 Set) Review:

These work perfectly, and they are such a good value! Any SoClean owner is aware that a single filter costs $30. Sadly, we didn't initially pay attention to the instructions. The colored lights continued to illuminate even after we changed the filter and check valve, and an error message reading "order filter kit" was displayed. I was extremely let down! I asked the vendor for advice, and they promptly issued a complete refund. I wanted the filter kit to function, not to obtain a refund. It fit perfectly, and there didn't seem to be any size difficulties. My husband then removed the SoClean book, read the instructions once more, and replaced the filter kit. Boom, the mistake is been fixed correctly. Hold the two buttons at the same time, and wait for the machine to display the message "Filter Installed" before releasing your grip. We made a very basic mistake by not paying attention to details. For owners of SoClean, I wholeheartedly endorse this filter kit.

ResMed Standard Water Chamber for AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 Humidair Heated Humidifier Review:

The ResMed Standard Water Chamber for AirSense 10 performs admirably, however it doesn't fare well when dropped accidentally on the floor. Ooops! The ResMed Standard Water Chamber for AirSense 10 cannot be dropped in the dark, and there is no workaround for this. Awwww...Since it's plastic, I ordered two as backups in case something goes wrong in the future. The team at cpap.com is VERY knowledgable and goes above and beyond to make sure the customer has the "Right Stuff." They have been a terrific provider. See what happens when you arrive at work at 4:00 AM? I accidentally dropped the water chamber I broke after it had been working for 10 months. Excellent ResMed products are available. I appreciate cpap.com also selling on Amazon.com. As a PRIME member, it saves me shipping fees.

Resmed 62935 Air Fit P10 Headgear Assembly Review:

Australia is the manufacturer of the ResMed Airfit P10 nasal cushion system. The user manual states that the entire unit is made up of three parts: A set of nasal pillows, a headgear with an elastic band (item number 62935), and C: The stabilizing, venting, and mask tubing-based "frame," PN 62938. The full assembly is identified by component number 62900.The best, lightest, and quietest CPAP mask I have ever used is by far this one. It virtually never presses against my face when it's in the right position, and it exhales effortlessly through the diffuser on the front of the frame.A nasal pillow's disadvantage is mouth breathing. I purchased a chin strap, and it keeps my mouth shut properly. Free Bonus Sleep Success Program with My Snoring Solution Anti-Snoring Jaw Strap Supporter I chose the pricey mysnoringsolution.com mask since all others use velcro, which is really annoying and adheres to the P10 helmet. Furthermore, less expensive straps are rather heated and itchy.I inserted an air filter in between the mask hose and main hose because the machine filter's sole purpose is to keep insects and birds out of the equipment. It was obvious that the filters were keeping debris out of my lungs because they went dark during our recent forest fires. Main Flow Bacterial Viral Filter by Hudson Filter, Model 1605, 22Mm Id X 22Mm Od/15Mm Id, Case of 50. Do a search on Amazon for "Hudson Filter Main Flow Bacterial Viral Filter" if you only need a smaller number.

Disposable CPAP Filters (52 Pack - ONE Year Supply) - Fits All ResMed Air 10, Airsense 10, Aircurve 10, S9 Series, Airstart and More! Review:

These are fantastic things! They are a wonderful fit for my cpap machine. My supplier charged $5 for a single filter, so I got these! Instead of spending $5 to $10 for 2-4 weeks' worth of filters, I now have enough to last me for an entire year after purchasing this set. I would advise purchasing these unless you have Medicaid or Medicare, which would cover them entirely, to save money instead of paying up to 1000% of market value for cpap supplies.

Care Touch CPAP Cleaning Mask Wipes - Unscented, Lint Free - 70 Wipes, Pack of 2-140 Wipes Total Review:

Amazing product! I've been using CPAP for nearly five years, and this one item really improves and simplifies everyday cleaning. I clean my CPAP hoses and pillows once a month using hot water, a little bleach (not everyone likes the idea of a little bleach- but bleach does kill bacteria), and a CPAP hose brush. I used nasal pillows for my CPAP application, and after using them each day, I used to wet a washcloth with distilled water and wipe down the nasal pillows. But things have changed now. I used to not always be happy with the cleaning I did every day. I am completely delighted with this device and it works great. While this product does irritate my hands (just so you know, the alcohol wipes you receive in restaurants also irritate my hands), it doesn't at all affect my nose, so for those of you who have allergies, don't worry. I do suffer from allergies. These wipes generally won't irritate your hands if alcohol wipes don't). In order to get these wipes into all of the nose pillows' nooks and crannies, I also place a Q-tip below them. I cleaned the nose cushion and allowed it to dry for five minutes before using. No odor, no irritation to the lips or nose. I wish I had it five years ago because it's a fantastic product!I paid full price for these and received no discount in exchange for my review. Hope this was helpful.

ResMed AirTouch F20 Cushion (Large) Review:

It is the only mask I have tried that both produces a good seal and does not leave a red mark that will develop into a sore over the bridge of my nose. This is my fourth mask, and I finally feel like I'm making progress. The identical F20 mask without the cushion, the Mirage Quattro with a boomerang gel nose pad (which leaked and came off), and mask liners were all things I tried (they do a great job sealing the mask unexpectedly and cuts down noise, but also a pain to put on and reapply in the middle of the night if needed). Moreover, I used the Amara View (good concept but you need a certain kind of nose anatomy for it and I think my nose is too big lol - the piece of silicone that sat across the bottom of my nose was too uncomfortable). In any case, this mask is the most cozy I've ever worn and generally creates an excellent seal. My suggestion is to persevere through the process of becoming used to a CPAP and mask. For practice, put it on while reading or taking a nap during the day. And because I side sleep, I wholeheartedly endorse a customized CPAP bed pillow to lessen the pressure the mask puts on your face at night. My issue has been that the mask unexpectedly and uncontrollably comes off as I sleep, and I believe that this is often caused by a lack of comfort. Anyhow, I advise trying this mask (as well as others) to determine which is best for you:)No mask is flawless (yet), and this one does leak a little bit more than a good silicone mask seal, but boy is it comfortable, so I'm only giving it four stars as opposed to five. Using a mask wipe to clean is simple (but avoid getting it wet). The memory foam lining needs to be handled somewhat gently, but mine has held up extremely well. Additionally, be careful to print off (and use a ruler to measure with) the Airfit F20 sizing chart. My equipment company sent me a medium when I actually required a large!Update (July 27, 2018): Thanks to this fantastic mask, my compliance has increased significantly. Thank fortunate I have increased my consumption after battling for three months, as I would have had to pay $200 to $300 out of pocket for supplies every three months. I increased my success rate with this mask from 15 to 17 out of 30 days to 26 out of 30. What counts is that I also feel better.I genuinely believe that memory foam, rather than silicone or rubber, should be the standard mask material for novice CPAP users. Given all my issues with silicone face masks, I frequently scarcely notice it is there. I can now understand the name "AirTouch." This mask has been the crucial piece for me! (I genuinely don't care about Resmed or any other gadget manufacturer; all I care about is finding anything that works!).

RespLabs Medical CPAP Mask Cleaning Wipes - [110 Pack Plus 2 Travel Wipes] - Biodegradable, Unscented, and Lint-Free. Review:

More than a year has passed since I first started using these CPAP wipes. The cleaner is evenly distributed throughout the wipes, and the contents of each bottle are all the same. It does an excellent job of removing oils from the mask cushions while leaving no residue or unpleasant odors. These wipes have a mild, unobtrusive smell. I have used them to clean the other components of my cpap machine to reduce cleaning time (outer shell of unit, tubing anything that does not come into direct contact with humidifier water). The tubes typically include a travel wipe in a tiny Mylar package, which is a welcome addition. I occasionally get sample packets of CPAP chap, which is another fantastic product. I think RespLabs did a fantastic job with this product and will continue to buy their products.
