A must-love My old flame sensor went down, and Amazon placed this order anticipating that we would experience a cold snap this week. As a result, we have been without a furnace for the past several days—actually, it has been the past week. Thank god we live in southern Utah where it seldom gets that cold. In fact, as I type this review at 1:32 in the afternoon, the house is 62 degrees and Mom is complaining about the weather. I'm grateful that the part arrived on time and performed as intended. Because there is only one screw, I was a little hesitant when installing the item. Old component had two screws. I conducted my research, which indicated that it was the appropriate replacement component, and it took less than a minute to connect the heater and turn down the heat. I'm grateful to you guys for your help.

Direct replacement for my 2001-purchased GE XL44. With a DMM, it was determined that the old igniter was absolutely dead and would not heat up at all. I've heard of older igniters that are still functioning and becoming hot but aren't drawing enough current to open the safety valve, so I suppose that as they get older, they become more "open" or have higher resistance. To be installed in the GE XL44: Open the oven door to the first stop, pull the door straight up, and set it aside to be removed. Pull up the panel's back end and remove it out of the oven by removing two thumb screws from its back. Remove two screws from the old igniter, one from the vertical heat shield protecting the safety valve, two from the burner holding it to the back of the oven (wires for the igniter were routed behind it), one from the small circular hole filler, fish out the connector, disconnect the old igniter, and then reconnect the new one. Reverse the process of removing all the screws and shields, being careful to place the plastic connector housing back into the hole where it won't melt. I'm fired up! If you wish to simply cut the wire before it enters the hole in the back of the oven, behind the heat shield, include porcelain wire nuts. Probably saves you from bending over the oven for a few minutes and your back! If there is a functional hookup, I personally dislike cutting cables. But nothing ought to be harmed by it. You're using gas to cook now! (Again)

This time of year, the cry "Winter is coming" is frequently heard. In fact, the chill has started to turn every vibrant life into a lifeless gray.Fortunately, I managed to capture a beast a few years ago, and its fire has kept my small home warm throughout the chilly winters. Until this season, that is. This beast, which I'll call the Bryant Plus 80 furnace, abruptly quit blowing its cosy fire. Upon closer study, I saw that the beast was still exhaling flammable fumes, but there was no spark to turn them into flames.I immediately phoned for Sir Amazon and pleaded with him to dispatch his fastest messenger to bring me a salve that he called hot surface of ignition. When I got there, I could tell how carefully the packager had ensured a secure travel.using my screwdriver with finesse I replaced the old ignitor on the beast with the new one. One would not even be able to tell the difference between the old and new without a close inspection. After the procedure was finished, I went to the wizard known as Thermostat. He finally consented to tell Bryant to awaken after some coaxing. And he did, in fact! Before attempting to repair this component, please make sure that all electrical and gas power to your stove is OFF. On electronic-ignition gas stoves, a gas valve safety switch (often situated on the stove floor) blocks gas from entering the stove if there is not enough electrical current to ignite the gas fumes. To be extra safe, you should nonetheless turn off the exterior gas line valve.Remember that even though your existing igniter may glow orange, your stove won't light if it can't produce 2.8 amps. The only method to fix this problem is to purchase a new igniter that can provide the 2.8 amps necessary for the safety switch to open the gas line and let gas into the oven, where it will ignite electronically and restart your oven. Depending on how often you use your stove, one of these components will eventually fail, therefore you should have an additional (kind of like a spark plug in the engine of a car). This part is useful to have on hand. My pellet stove wasn't lighting up, and the firepot was stuffed with unburned pellets, I discovered. Both the red call light and the power were on when they were checked. When the igniter was peeked at in the ash tray, it was cold and black, clearly burned out.
