Fondue is a dish traditionally made with melted cheese, wine, and a few other ingredients. While any cheese can technically be used for fondue, not all cheeses are created equal. The best cheeses for fondue are those that melt easily and have a strong flavor. Some of the most popular cheeses for fondue include Gruyère, Emmental, and Appenzeller.
If you love hosting fondue parties, you may be wondering if you need multiple fondue pots. The answer is, it depends. If you plan on having multiple types of fondue (cheese, chocolate, broth, etc.), then you will need multiple pots. If you only plan on having one type of fondue, then one pot will suffice. Some people even like to have multiple pots of the same type of fondue so that everyone can have their own individual pot. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.
When you are making fondue, you want to avoid getting stringy cheese. There are a few things you can do to help prevent this. First, make sure that you are using a high quality cheese. Second, shred or cube the cheese rather than slicing it. This will help it to melt evenly. Finally, be careful not to overheat the cheese. Stir it gently as it melts so that it doesn't become stringy.
Fondue is a great way to cook meat, but how long should you leave it in the pot? The answer depends on the type of meat you're cooking. For chicken, cook for 2-3 minutes. For beef, cook for 3-4 minutes. And for pork, cook for 4-5 minutes.

We used this kit to make cheese fondue the other night. I enjoyed it with some Tuscan bread slices. It was delicious! Pot has a ceramic coating and is made of hefty cast. The stove did a superb job of heating the fondue and keeping it warm over the Sterno on the robust stand. Simple cleanup

It still makes the sticky, gooey, nasty, but delicious delight inside! My folks used to own a vintage Hoffritz smores machine, so I can only imagine how thrilled they are that a newer model is available. That outdated item appeared to date from the 1980s—wait, it did!The marshmallows, Graham Crackers, Chocolate, and Chocolate Syrup were broken out (I'm impatient) and lit up.Voila! My children wrecked themselves and the place. I'm happy to have shared a memory from my childhood. The cleanup was simple and straight forward—much simpler than the cleanup by the children, sadly.

This works fantastically for making cheese fondue, as I recently discovered! I'll use it once more. I bought this since I didn't want to use my existing metal fondue pot for cooking. We experimented with a few fondue pots and a few triple dipper crock pots before settling on this one as our absolute favorite. It cooks evenly, heats up quickly, and doesn't burn. Additionally, we enjoy cooking with sauces like wine, cheese, soy, and others that can easily burn accidently and produce a lot of smoke within the house. With this new pot, we had no trouble heating up all of these sauces to their varied heat levels without burning or exhausting ourselves. fantastic fondue pot Based on my experience so far, I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

I got my wife this on our sixth wedding anniversary. I have no concerns about the quality, and it is surprisingly simple to clean. All in all, it is a decent set for the price. By using a sponge and regular dish soap to wash by hand, I was able to remove every last particle of chocolate. There was no need to scrape or do anything; everything just came off. The only issue is that I was hoping to utilize it when I opened the box (as I said, it was a gift and we exchanged gifts after the kids went to bed at night). It turns out that not everything you need is in the box when setting it up for immediate usage. To use it, you must buy the appropriate gasoline separately. I personally didn't know this and thought there would at least be a sample size of the correct gasoline to use to begin going. By no means is this a deal breaker, but it is something to be aware of.

My husband and I have read numerous testimonials regarding specific sets of three or four little crock pots that turn out to be excellent fondue pots. To accommodate 3–4 different pots of cheese and dips for fondue night, yet it is untrue that crock pots, regardless of the model, never get hot enough to hold dips and cook food. After much struggle trying to locate a fondue pot that worked properly, we found this one. Some get hot enough to cook, but not to this level. We experimented with a few fondue pots and a few triple dipper crock pots before settling on this one as our absolute favorite. It cooks evenly, quickly heats up, and doesn't burn. Our previous fondue pot was from the 1970s, so our first fondue night with the new pot was by far the greatest we had ever had. If you want to do this, you may set it up so you can have fondue on your coffee table in the living room while watching a terrific movie. Additionally, we enjoy cooking with sauces like wine, cheese, soy, and others that can easily burn accidently and produce a lot of smoke within the house. With this new pot, we had no trouble heating up all of these sauces to their varied heat levels without burning or exhausting ourselves. fantastic fondue pot

This traditional fondue set is quite wonderful. Since this is an open-flame variant, you must supply your own gel fuel as it is not provided.Be aware that you can purchase this set with a regular black pot, a red pot, or a blue pot. They all have the same off-white ceramic inside covering. The heating deck, plate, and legs of the rechaud are all one piece. The component parts do not separate. Make sure to look for burrs or rough areas on the bottom of your rechaud. Mine had a noticeable metal burr on the bottom that wasn't discovered until it had scratched the kitchen table by 7". Ouch. I only gave this product four instead of five stars due to a quality control mistake. The adjustable burner cover attaches securely to the bottom cup and is quick and simple to set up. It's simple to control the flame thanks to the movable ring on the burner cap. And the cover soon extinguishes the flame. The pot is made of solid, strong cast iron, and the handle gets heated during usage but stays cool enough to grip. The pot rapidly and evenly heats up, and during my use, the contents have never burnt. The pot's ceramic coating makes it incredibly simple to clean. The horrible cleanup was always the most unpleasant aspect about cooking fondue. With this set, however, cleaning is incredibly simple and thorough, requiring little to no washing and no scraping of burned-on grime. You receive a neatly done user's manual in three languages: English, French, and Spanish. However, there are only two pages of information in it. The guidebook includes instructions and photographs with helpful annotations. It has a lot of contact information, including a URL, an email address, and addresses in the US, Switzerland, and Canada. On the back is a single recipe for classic cheese fondue made in the Swiss tradition, along with a supplementary care, usage, and cleaning card. This set costs about $100, so it is not inexpensive. There are several sets available for less than this. However, the reason I bought this set is because it is almost exactly like the set I recall being on the table in the restaurant in Gruyere, Switzerland when I first tried Swiss cheese fondue, which was probably more than 40 years ago. Right down to the typical wrought-iron rechaud stylings, this is the real deal, the genuine article. The pieces in this set are durable. This pricing, in my opinion, is reasonable for this collection. In conclusion, this is the fondue set to buy if you want traditional fondue. It is large, strong, and enduring.

I recently purchased two fondue pots in red and black, one for cheese and one for chocolate. Typically, we don't use any oil when cooking meatballs or dipping them in cheese fondue. I put them both to the test simultaneously. Both eventually stopped working. There are already several lights on the circuit breaker, which can reportedly take a maximum of 20 amps. Therefore, if using two at once, I must utilize different circuits. The pots heat up quite quickly, and I didn't even get above WARM. The half of a premade fondue mix I was using to test the two pots at 200 was simply too hot. The pottery is excellent! I recently received many silicone utensils for Christmas, allowing me to stir without scratching (could use a wooden spoon as well). Users would need to be cautioned not to stab the bottom because the fondue forks could scratch. There is a LOT of fondue in 3 qts, however it is advised not to fill it more than 2/3 of the way. I considered taping the cord in place to prevent any accidents while in use because the magnetic section may be removed quite simply. The pot's ability to be submerged is practical. Check for water in the region around the heating element if you only have one and clean it for making chocolate after making cheese. The handle is hollow and can store water droplets, so be SURE it is completely dry. When hand washing, it requires some effort to dry out that area.

This came as a welcome surprise! I was pleasantly impressed by how well it worked after purchasing this affordable tiny pot because my kids really wanted fondue. Also very simple to clean. The small flame kept the chocolate fondue nicely warm while we were making it. This was fantastic with the melting Milton's chocolates, however if you want to make a more upscale fondue, I might invest in a better saucepan.

OUTSTANDING! How much of a pot do I want? I looked for fondue a lot. a fuel gel or an electric motor? porcelain, cast iron, or stainless What business? My god, the list is endless. When I came upon this one, I thought what a creative idea it was to run on tea lights. Love that concept—so easy. If you truly wanted to do fondue outside your home, or over to a friend's house, you could take this item anyplace. There is no cord to trip on, and there is no need to worry about fuel gel; simply light the candle and you're good to go (I literally just finished a fondue as I'm writing this). The pot is the perfect size for two people, and it could fit four, but that would be pushing it. The appropriate way to cook the fondue is in another pot on the burner, and then use that pot to keep it warm so the cheese and wine may combine properly. This pot is exquisite, lovely, and easy to clean, but the photo does it no justice. Tealight candles are quite affordable ( I recommend the primelight ones - made in USA) I can't say enough good things about this tiny fondue set (yep, it comes with a tea light candle to get you starting). I'll definitely be visiting Boska for all my cheese equipment and other cool goods they have on their website.
If you're planning on hosting a fondue party, you'll need one pot per person. This will ensure that everyone has enough space to cook their food and that there's enough fondue to go around.
If you're planning to host a fondue party for eight people, you'll need about three quarts of fondue. That's enough to fill eight small fondue pots or four large ones. To make sure everyone gets enough to dip, plan on each person eating about a half-pound of food.
Cast iron is a great material for fondue pots because it heats up evenly and retains heat well. It is also less likely to break than ceramic or glass pots.
There are many schools of thought when it comes to this question. Some say that broth provides a more complex flavor, while others find that oil is more versatile. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. If you're looking for a richer flavor, broth may be the way to go. If you want something that can be used for a variety of dipping options, oil may be a better choice.
There are many schools of thought when it comes to whether or not vegetables should be cooked for fondue. Some people believe that cooking the vegetables beforehand allows for more even cooking and prevents them from absorbing too much oil. Others believe that cooking the vegetables beforehand takes away from the overall flavor of the dish. Ultimately, it is up to the individual to decide whether or not to cook the vegetables beforehand.
